  2. That is probably a VERY good idea. although it is a little late for that, it will be done with any more i make, this is still a better catch can than most off the shelf ones like the trust units which are just an open can. i'll be getting the fittings for this tomorrow, so i'll get it welded up and powdercoated by the weekend.
  3. that tag has been moved there from the Cam gear cover - its the 100km service tag

    Polishing.

the black polishing compound should wash off, try some hot soapy water and a clean cloth
  5. Question for the Other Alloy Welders - Second passes over a weld bead to neaten them up - without a pulse machine - workable?
  6. boost with no power = me when the rear half of my cat collapsed and twisited around in the housing
  7. Thanks Ben
  8. these versions do not look as good as some others that are avaialble as for quatermile time, that would be hard to test without a wind tunnel. zcarparts.com have some really nice Carbon ones for sale as for reading 0.1 seconds into the fins, i doubt it, the design is to aid in increasing downforce generated by your rear wing ..
  9. anyone know the hose internal diameter for the catch can hose on the rb26 covers?
  10. CLAY BAR http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mothers-Cal-Gold-Cl...ksid=p1638.m122 available at supercheap
  11. claybar will remove anything sitting on the paint
  12. Looks like it'll work good Femno
  13. most powdercoats have a constant heat rating of 110 degrees Celcius - more for high temp powders (but the colours available arent the best)
  14. lol - well no wing means they do nothing so its effectives is kinda determined by the rest of the aero package hahaha alright alright - dependant well i havent seen specific data relating to the drop in the drag coefficient of the vehicle, if they do drop that then yes the fuel economy can effected for the better
  15. just a little info - the Z club in the USA went to the trouble of Wind Tunnel testing alot of different aero combos on the 240z and 280z, these exact vortex generators were tested and found to work with the correct type of wing on the back of the boot. effectiveness is definately determined on the rest of the aero package on the car
  16. nope thats a standard Powdercoat - called chrome but more resembles polished alloy
  17. dont run it into things and your fibreglass kit pieces will last as long as plastic
  18. theres a pic of a guy with cream piping and plenum in the rocker cover paint/powdercoat thread
  19. the Nissan Cefiro runs the RB20det and its engine mounts can be used on the the rb30's to drop the motor within the engine bay, so yes they all bolt onto the other blocks so since its going into a 300zx, you'll be modifying the cross memeber to account for the new mounts? ooohh your getting pre fabbed mounts specifically for this conversion - makes sense - but i beg to ask, how is this fabrication related?
  20. like the smoke colour hazerb30, good idea on the polishing under it vs their primer. as for the ignition module, i wouldnt paint it last thing you want is your ignition system over heating, just polish it, you should have all the stuff now
  21. just remember the laws regarding replacing an AIR bag steering wheel. not that ive heard of anyone being booked for it.
  22. ahh yes tricky tricky few little extra additions in there now too - nice
  23. yep, that little one that loops over still lets some air into the plenum if you leave the pcv open though- only on idle though
  24. because the studs snap off in the head, not the manifold
