  1. Aaron, mate while that bar is off, get those mild steel pipes sanded back and repainted ... that and the repaired bar should clean that front end up a bit when painting the pipes, ensure you hit them with an etching primer - or a self etching paint so that it wont flake off next time.
  2. your fuel filter should already be on teh strut tower
  3. are the lights on the dash on during this cranking process? low battery levels can allow the car to crank, but not have the ecu and dash lights on which wont let it start
  4. thats pretty good change in temps, 17deg isnt that much, but every little bit helps to make these coils last longer
  5. They are illegal in NSW.. they apparantly "dazzle" oncoming traffic
  6. DMR - that is actually a clever way to do it, looks std shame this type of option is alot hardcer for the 33 guys out there
  7. I've got a bare rb25det block - make me an offer
  8. the vertical pipe loops over to a metal pipe that runs to the turbo inlet pipe just before the turbo so intake? = yes Before/after the turbo = before
  9. GMB ... ever finish your Airbox?
  10. if you use something that is heat resistant maybe something like JB Weld would work
  11. are you wiping the material down with anything first? i have used metho, and allowed alot of flash time. but i found acetone works better with lower flashing time between cleaning it and welding. What gas are you using also?
  12. so are you saying that the rubber grommet is stuck within the baffles under the cam covers? those baffles are riveted in, which is a pain, option to remove them is the drill out the rivets and remove the baffle. then drill further a tap a thread into teh cover, then bolt the baffles back in ensuring you use loctite to keep them in their holes.
  13. how have you tried to monitor the temp changes? the idea once you are moving is that the moving air within the low pressure area under the bonnet should move the air around and provide some cooling to the coil packs.
  14. Just remember that if your S1 doesnt have an airbag you ned to remove the globe from teh airbag light, or it will stay on all the time - also this light being on can cause you rego hassles. but yes they work after plugging them in as i am using a S2 dash cluster in a S1.
  15. well if the ATI damper is made for the rb25 then the standard belts should work, will be tricky if you are using the rb26 damper though as the belts are different along with the spacings
  16. usually they have a book next to those touch up paint areas, they will list the manufacturer , car model and paint code.
  17. i will get looking into this, been too long without a speedo
