Take care out there guys: http://au.news.yahoo.com/070319/2/12spq.html A Sydney doctor escaped from his burning BMW after two carjackers posing as police robbed him, locked him in the boot and torched the car. The 34-year-old obstetrician was on his way to a north Sydney hospital after receiving a call-out at about 3.15am (AEDT) on Monday when the incident occurred, police said. The Forestville man was sitting in his black BMW sedan at the intersection of West and Falcon streets, in Crows Nest, when two men who claimed to be police pulled alongside and asked him to stop. After the doctor pulled over, the two men approached the car and again said they were police. But when the doctor asked to see some identification, the men removed the keys from the ignition and pulled him from the driver's seat. NSW Police Detective Inspector Peter Houlahan, crime manager of the Harbourside Local Area Command, said the doctor was hit in the stomach with a hammer before having his wallet, his mobile phone and his watch taken. The two men also demanded the doctor's credit card, key cards and personal identification numbers, Det Insp Houlahan told reporters. He said the doctor was then forced into the boot of his car. "All he recalls is the car being driven for a period of time, stopping on a couple of occasions, and then shortly after 4am (AEDT) this morning he felt the vehicle come to a halt," Det Insp Houlahan said. "He heard a click in the boot area and he heard someone call out: 'Get out of the car'. "When he pushed the boot up he found his car engulfed in flames." The doctor told police he did not unlock the boot himself, and it appeared the man's captors unlocked it before fleeing, Det Insp Houlahan said. He said the man, who could not see the offenders when he escaped the burning vehicle, raised the alarm at a house in the riverfront suburb of Linley Point where the car was dumped. Police believe the two offenders made purchases and cash withdrawals using the stolen cards before they abandoned the vehicle, and officers are conducting inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage. The man was "very distraught" and tired after the attack, and was anxious to get home and see his wife and two young daughters, Det Insp Houlahan said. He could only provide police with a vague description of his captors, but said the men were both caucasian males aged in their 20s, and that one of them was about six feet tall (183cm) with short blond hair and medium build. The man was "extremely lucky" to have escaped without serious injury, Det Insp Houlahan said. "The fact that it appears they popped the boot may take the edge off the offence itself but, quite honestly, it's a very serious offence and the consequences are very severe," Det Insp Houlahan said. "This type of crime is quite unusual for this country, particularly in this area, so it is quite worrying."

the original point, which was somewhat academic, contended that nissan would indeed product another z-tune given enough incentive, that's all. difficult?? no way, i'm easy. very, very easy. just ask some of the foxy chicks who owe me favours!

Adult Material
sigsputnik replied to satanic's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
I think the "no adult material" policy is a good one. In the meantime, if you have Firefox, you can specify individual images to block regularly (e.g. avatars) using this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1672/ -
sweet, thanks for that. will tape it.

i feel for you mate, some people are SCUM. -
Hilton Narita will be at...Narita, so some three hours from Tokyo by bus. Might be a better idea to pick somewhere else. It's not very high up and the view is poor (you can see a carpark from the window that sometimes has some nice cars in it) but I usually stay at a place called St Hills (you can google it) and it's great for my needs. Mate you'll love Tokyo.

...i think you over took me at the erindale round-a bout this evening.. around 9ish? nah, that wasn't me. by 9pm i was tucking into some yummy spaghetti and watching house.
-
aha yep that was me.

oh, also, check the compliance plate and make sure it wasn't brought into the country as a track car. if it was, you'll of course need a cams licence, and won't be able to road register it. the links don't work so i can't check the thread you're indicating.

>Does the price tag of around $26 sound right? Yeah, $26 sounds great for all that!! jeez, you could sell the gear knob for $50 and make profitttt! just jokes! i guess no one else has replied so i'll throw in my 2c. i can't speak to this car, and i don't know your requirements. i'm not sure if the car is already in australia, but if i'd seen that the car had been used for drag or heavy track work, i'd probably give it a miss - that sort of activity can put a lot of strain on the chassis. also, loads of modifications could be a headache when the time comes to insure it. that said, if you want a beef monster, this looks like it might fit the bill ok. get a compression test done and perhaps even a decent workshop to look over it. if it was me, i'd look at something else if i wanted a daily driver. but that's just me.

it was a really great day, to be sure. i was a bit shy and hid behind my dslr for most it though . i took close to 200 photos over the course of the day and whittled that down to about a hundred keepers. In fact I think I only spoke to Mick (?) because he happened to be sitting in his car at the time and the shot was just right . anyway i'll finish the edits and see about posting some shots.

spooted a black r33 the other night at car lovers weston. gave/got a wave.
-
no, they're not repeats. each segment is from a previous episode, but the compilations themselves are new.
-
they're not repeats, per se, they're 'best ofs', presumably to make up the difference between our season lengths and theirs. i agree, it sucks.

>>so if you walked in with 1 billion US dollars and told them to make you a number 21 geniuine Z tune theyd say - no fanx....... >Yes they would I doubt this very much. Nissan had an operating revenue of US$80b last year, but a cost of revenue of US$60b. These are gross figures too, the story gets even more compelling when you use net of expenses. Even Nissan would have to think very carefully about rejecting 1/20th of their operating revenue on principle.

alright, spotted a burgundy r33 with a white bonnet this morning in belco. gave a wave, but driver just stared.

pretty sure i spotted tj in civic this afternoon. also a burgandy r33. i was on northbourne in the ute with the bonnet up waiting for the nrma. you know why? - someone bought it for $1500 - called me up 10 mins later to say 'it just died' - i gave him back the money, he left - nrma arrives, reckons somehow they'd somehow jammed the key onto 'start' and been driving with the starter motor spinning?! but i'm not bitter.
