  1. well our series 5 bmw was satan incarnate (no pun intended). it "did things" of its own accord and needed frequent servicing. one time it wouldn't close the sunroof - another it wouldn't let us out of second, heh heh. yep, won't be in a hurry to get another beemer.
  2. i am pretty sure you can get it as a badge, or at least a sticker.
  3. well i am all for industry, so i say do it.
  4. OMG hello new signature quote!!
  5. actually i remember this particular logo on lots of t-shirts from my old rave days. some still on ebay, e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-Insane-Custo...VQQcmdZViewItem
  6. a white subject on a landscpe shot in broad daylight is going to be tough. there are better photographers than me on here but for my 2c, here are some tips: - pay close attention to light metering and tell your camera where to grab the light reading from. if it's averaging across the viewfinder, the sunlight will wash out your white subject. - try and position yourself so the sun is behind you instead of shooting into the sun. - use a uv filter or a polarising filter to cater for harsh sunlight. a gradient filter may also allow you to control the wash from the top of the shot. - use a lens hood - i know some people use a dual exposure filter to assist (especially for landscapes with bright skies and dark terrain) but they freak me out and i don't fully understand them. the 400d is god's camera. i would buy one in a heartbeat if i had the $$$. edit: hmmm, on second thoughts, the 400d is not god's camera, but it is blummin' good. and definitely go the canon over the sony.
  7. yep, definitely. the VE is the only commode where i find myself turning to look at it - there's a nice black kitted one around here, very nice on the eyes (and ears). hmmm.
  8. Cheers heaps for the pix mate.
  9. oh cheers, cowie, thanks mate.
  10. you legend, daniel thanks heaps mate. that's exactly what i wanted. cheers!
  11. hey hey hey winning's WINNING.
  12. yeah. my gf and i have worked out what we will do next time - we'll get a shipping/freight crate of some kind. it's not much more expensive than posting parcels back. there is just too much good stuff to buy in japan to be worried about being able to cart it back.
  13. you'll get code...13 from memory if it's a g-sensor. g sensor is under the center console, next to the hand brake. undo the screws in that unit and gently lift it up. you'll see the g-sensor as a goldy metal box, a few inches square. there's a little window on the side - red = stuffed (possibly), white = OK (possibly).
  14. ^^^^^^^^^^^ what CCCP said. AFM needs attention.
  15. sorry to hijack mildly - cowie was that speedo cable $90 from Nissan?
  16. When you do buy stuff, make sure you have a good strategy for getting it home. Don't listen to the people who say that the airline checkin won't ping you for being overweight. Organise some type of freight beforehand if you can't fit it into your suitcase and within the weight limit. I speak from experience here, where the last time I was over there I went a bit overboard - by 8 kilos and the penalty would have been about the same as another ticket.
  17. i couldn't find any vpower in sydney last week, nor here in canberra. i am gingerly running on unleaded95. GINGERLY. there are pamphlets at the shell servo's saying that they're completely out of the premium stuff. i might have to switch to vortex or similar?
  18. follow the flowcharts posted by RellikZephyr above - you'll need a multimeter and it may take a little while but you should be able to find the problem that way.
  19. I am pretty sure it attaches to the gearbox, but I have no idea how or where, sorry - this is something i need to find out also. the manual doesn't seem to say, which is odd. how much did the cable cost?
