  1. Ok, I thought it would be a good idea but just confirming things. This is my first Nissan rebuild so parts that are actually easy to buy is new to me. I can only find 3 pumps, n1, tomei and nitto. I'm pretty sure that the tomei and nitto would be over kill, but what about the n1. Is it too big too?
  2. Ok my box of parts arrived, but it just occurred to me, should I replace the oil pump?
  3. I thought it would be something like that, just didn't want to drop off the wrong seals. Thanks
  4. ok so here is some more info, one of my valves in cylinder 5 was about to drop in, and my head has marks from where the head gasket was soon to blow. so looks like i pulled it down just in time. on another bad note, when i had my front guard replaced a few years ago they dodged it up and used a holden indicator bulb holder and just electrical taped it on to hold it together so now my clear indicator housing wont work :@ another call to just cars to get more repairs done, glad they have life time guarantee on repairs. this is the 4th time it has had to get repairs done. and a strange question. i need to provide my stem seals and cam seals for the head to be re assembled, in my gasket kit there is a packet with 12 stem seals, a packet with 12 stem seals and 1 big seal (looks like a cam seal to me) is there only supposed to be 1 cam seal? the only other seals in the kit is a packet with 2 seals the same as the cam seal and a rear? oil/main? seal. could one of these be the other cam seal?
  5. He's old school I think, been there over 30years. But il confirm later today. There isn't anything difficult in installing a timing belt so why pay for it.
  6. I don't think there will be a warranty, he is only doing the minor assembly. Like head onto block, I'm fitting the waterpump/timing belt and all the bolt ones
  7. New rings and bearings as far as i know. I haven't asked yet. I thought I would get info from people in here who have run in rb25s before.
  8. I meant about running in. Engine is at the machinist
  9. Ok I'm sick of reading different opinions. What is the consensus on running in a rebuilt motor. I would like a step by step from the moment I pour water and oil into it if possible. I don't want there to be any chance of me stuffing it up. Thanks in advance.
  10. Where are you located, Interested in 4 r33 gtst rims.
  11. Gtr260. Pm/txt me about the auto tune. It isn't what you think it is.
  12. I can't believe this is still for sale. Alas I'm still trying to sell the beetle. Sorry I can't buy it yet
  13. It's my drivers side rear, It had a small leak when I drove up the coast, my front torque guage was sitting a few mm up from the bottom and when I put air in it was normal again,
  14. I paid $666 for a 100k service at erd, is the rb26 really that much different?
  15. Just a note, my attessa locks when one tyre has 10/15psi less pressure.
  16. Oh stao I forgot to ask. That vw high flow. Was that a ko3 or ko3s. The beetle uses the ko3s and is bigger.
  17. Low octane fuel normally causes detonation/pinging.
  18. I have a turbo beetle, what's a pricing on these?
  19. Hyper gear. That is all.
  20. At the moment I think il get the spool rebuild kit and take the block and head down to Johnny rabbits to rebuilt/machine it.
  21. Looks like a fun project
  22. 1. Nothing wrong with where I had the boost feed, people had suggested getting a boost feed from the manifold . That is stupid. 2. Sorry for not seeing an invisible bolt. 3. Tuned for 22psi dropping to 14, so the 3/4 psi spike isn't a big issue in my point of view. I wasn't holding it wot to redline, was just creeping it to see if boost was holding. 4. I drove an untuned 35year old turbo celica with a 7psi boost increase for 4 years and never had a single problem.
  23. I didn't mean for a refund, I would just like him to have a look and see what's going on. Yes I drove my car around with a 3500rpm red line for a few weeks, I didnt think it was that big an issue, clearly Nissan motors aren't as strong as the Toyota engines I'm use to owning.
  24. No just considering there is no damage just low compression, either the ring had never bed in or it just wore out. And considering the rest are fine it makes more sense that it didn't be in.
