  1. Il see how it looks on the inside and compare prices. I just don't want to change the ecu, r33 would mean a new ecu, I might email rips and see what it will cost to put my head on a rb30 short block.
  2. Yeah the rb30 short block is looking very good, except for the vct stuff. Plus il need a new turbo. It looks like il just do a complete rebuild at the moment, just not sure if I should do the water pump/timing belt too, they were only done 50000 km ago.
  3. They look the same as my rs4s ones.
  4. Well mine hasnt moved in over a week so its really good on fuel . Lol. But I normally get 450km/tank
  5. Il get a pic tonight, it is all thought the silicon elbow off the turbo.
  6. Sadly I haven't gotten very far, I've pulled off the intercooler pipes and fixed a few things, but I'm rather concerned because when I removed the pipe from the turbo to intercooler, it was covered in what looks like metal/dust. I'm not sure if I had an air leak and it's just dirt or what's going on.
  7. Gtst - thanks il contact them. Harey - Yeah I was looking at those today. Looks like a good deal
  8. +1 i wish i could afford a days kit. if someone donates some roof rails to me I can probably make something to suit carbon fibre wrapping.
  9. a couple of weeks i think
  10. Lewis Engines - good/bad stories? they will rebuild my motor for $4999, or they sell exchange rb25s for $4999
  11. This is probably a stupid question but is the wiring harness/Ecu, intercooler, and exhaust all I need to change to fit an rb26, the neo uses a 26 block from what I've read so it should just bolt in no problems yeah?
  12. My dad cuts all of mine
  13. I cant find Redrracing and rbballerz anywhere on the Internet is my Internet ghey with the aides or is someone else having trouble too?
  14. Il see if he can get them.
  15. I have had very good work done at erd and i recommed them highly but I don't think my car will be returning there. Yes I was warned, I will admit that I may have caused the engine damage, but does that really mean that I can't try to resolve my problems and ask for assistance on here now? Just a note, what I assumed was detonation was actually a leaky gasket, although my engine did knock with the old turbo when I tried regular unleaded. Once it knocked I drained the tank and filled it with 98 again.
  16. thank you GTST, i do realise i have done a few things wrong. just trying to rectify my mistakes now. like i said above i will pull it apart this weekend and see what i can find, il post up some pics of the damage and ask for a few ideas as to what caused it if it isnt obvious. and i cant see what else could be needed for it to cost more, if its a dead piston buy pistons, if its just rings buy rings. the couple of suggestions i have had is as follows, over boost causing detonataion killing piston, over fueling causeing the oil to wash off the bore and rings are dead, faulty injector causeing lean mixtures causing detonation killing piston. feel free to add to my list. with the rb30de, how does that go with converting to 4wd? just swap the sump/oil pick up or is a matter of completely modifying stuff?
  17. All I can think is it was a tuning issue, hopefully I will have the head off in the next few days. I was more so leaning towards a rebuild for the price, the one place that has a motor wants $2800 + timing belt/water pump. So $3300ish installed. Rebuild $800 pistons, $500 gaskets + machining. So $2500ish maximum so probably $3000 tuned and back on the road and I get to keep matching numbers.
  18. 250kw was the goal but my engine couldn't even handle that. I can't find a 4wd engine let alone just a bottom end.
  19. My wife doesn't want me to just buy another motor as it could be rooted too so looks like a rebuild is gonna happen Is the normal wiseco/cp/arias the best options for pistons? I've been told not to use a stock head gasket, I should buy a cometic gasket, does cometic make a full kit or will I have to buy a full kit then a head gasket as well. Has anyone heard of jack brothers, I know not many Qld people will be reading this but I thought mayb someone had posted in the past about a good or bad experience with them. .

    Insurance

I have behaved pretty well since I signed up with them
  21. Yeah no one wants it, I just need to pay out the finance so I can get a new car. I'm after what ever someone is willing to pay, I just can't pull it apart until I know it can sell enough/all of it.
  22. I think il pull the head off and have a look. If it is rooted it will just be lighter to lift out anyway.
  23. All I know it's a red stagea, can't tell me if it's series 1 or 2, but it has twin tips on the exhaust.
  24. No, he's a good engine builder, just took months to get the last piece I needed to put the engine back together. After I had out everything in the car and paid he told me that he couldn't get 1 of the chain guides.
  25. I will admit that quote wasnt from the cheapest engine builder around. He has caused me months of heartache before.
