I haven't got a different actuator yet, il try the no boost line test again, last time I didn't have much empty road so I mashed it to 30psi and backed off because of traffic. It was a non turbo xr6 from about 60km up. My tester has a gauge in it. I made it at work. 3mm of preload

I pulled out the afm and put in my 3inch air fitting adapter and turn my compressor on.

I was only going to run what the wastgate actuator would push originally. That's why I haven't got a boost control yet, when I get it holding boost il buy another electronic controller.

No if I pressurize the system with a compressor the only leak is the tappet cover breather. Air would be going past the piston rings and or through the other breather that's hooked to the plenum and coming back through. What exactly do you want to see?

dvs jez, how far down the coast are you? how much do you charge per hour for dyno tuning?

He didn't tell me what afr he tuned to (annoyed me when I was driving home and realized) and I do have a torque graph, il put it up in a minute. He said he couldn't get it to hold full boost, he tightened the actuator adjustment and turned the boost control up. The actuator is plumbed into the fitting that used to go to the air con compressor solenoid?switch? Only boost leak is through my open air tappet cover breather, holds 30psi if I put my finger in it. i should also point out, my car makes 22 psi but doesnt feel like it makes power until it drops below 18/19, like kind of has that vvti+l feel after that.

It had a turbosmart boost t, now has nothing, still does exactly the same thing. It's a manual, it's a hypergear high pressure actuator 18psi??

To add insult to injury. I got out accelerated by an xr6 :'( My setup is as follows. K&N panel filter-z32-3"metal intake-turbo-jjr bellouth dump-gutted cat-hks hi power cat back-jjr return flow intercooler-turbosmart type 3 plum back-Nissan 350z 450cc injectors-walbro gss341-nistune

Ok here is the problems, turbo is a hypergear atr43 ss-1 Boost spike to 22psi then falls straight off to 14psi 80% of the time it only gets to 16/17psi Has 500rpm lag over most other identical turbos Only made 306hp. Attempted fixes. Removed air box Tried pod filter Tried different intercooler Removed exhaust Tried different exhaust Pressure tested the whole system Removed boost control

Well that just says a lot about the performance of my ss-1 then doesn't it.

I have to say my car feels a lot more powerful in 4wd then in rwd, just my 2 cents

Is there anyway I could just put an off the shelf wastegate actuator on my turbo? I'm sick of having a slow as f**k car.

I'm happy to check anything so fire away your ideas, just another note after 5 mins of hard driving it looses power horribly.

My SS1 only has full boost at 4100/4200. Mayb 3700 in 5th. Yeah kinda makes for a boring car. Before someone flames me, no boost leaks, different cooler was tested, pod filter was tried. Still only makes 21 psi for a split second occasionally, more often maxes out at 16/17psi

If it keeps rising you have it set too high or your wastegate isnt opening.

You obviously have no idea how it works. The boost control goes between the turbo outlet fitting and the wastegate actuator. It's that simple, I don't know why the f**k you would hook it to the manifold.
