I can't exactly put a fitting in rubber hose . All I can do is get a fitting put in the stock turbo to intercooler pipe.
-
There isn't a nipple on the compressor. The fitting that used to go to the charcoal canister was the closest fitting I found.

Eoi - C34 Stagea Roof Rail Replacement Panels

That's what I wanted to do but welding up the holes. I just couldn't find a spare set to buy locally. -
Rolls - that's why I'm here, to see what people have on their cars. I think I should actually use what ever stao has on his test car as it "should" give similar results.
-
I have been thinking though. The stock turbo was set to 13/14psi but in cold weather had no trouble pushing over the boost limit though my intercooler and it's a much smaller turbo. One thing to note on my current setup is my actuator gets it's boost feed from the cold side of the intercooler so technically the turbos wastgate should be shut tight when my boost starts to drop.
-
I didn't suspect any issues when I dropped my car off at Efi. I had given myself a 3500rpm limit, so I never saw the boost drop. What is everyone's thoughts on a temporary top mount intercooler running without a bonnet for testing purposes? Would give minimal pipe length. Is it mainly the u turn at one end that kills the return flow setup, too slow to turn around?? On a pressure standard if the core is restrictive then it doesn't matter how many bends you have it will still loose pressure across the core. How many people have fitted an r34 intercooler kit, how much cutting involved? Did it fit?

i had a cooling pro in the celica, never had any issues, only running 14psi/200hp though. afaik the jjr return flow i have now is a cooling pro item also
-
I only noticed it at lunch when I was poking things. Il get it out at home when it cools down

+1 hypergear has always tried to solve my problems. I would just like to be sure it's not a car issue before I swap the turbo over. One random thing I have noticed is I think part of my old turbos front wheel is in my intercooler. I can hear it rattling.
-
Where do you normally get intercooler cores from? Yer it's a bellouth dump Muffler still looks good but il drop it off to be sure.
-
That's what I thought. Yer it holds 30 psi with the tappet cover breather blocked. The injectors should be good for over 400hp and I'm not even close to 400 yet. And if my z32 is a fake then I will be super pissed, it cost me $320.
-
Thats why I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with those tin gaskets, bolts are all tight. Would it be bad to do a quick run without an intercooler?
-
Here is a summary of what is fitted to my car. Tell menif something sticks out as bad K&n panel filter - z32 afm - atr43 ss-1 - jjr return flow intercooler - Nissan 450cc injectors - jjr dump pipe - single cell cat -hks high power cat back(also got 3 inch pipe into twin 3 inch pipe tips to replace the rear section that I tried, lost power/use more fuel) - walbro gss 341.

No I'm not a dick in real life, just having a bad day. If you have seen my posts in the past you can see the days that work f**ks me around. I don't have any work until Friday and I have to look busy until then. I am lost as to what I should do next, is there any real world differences between the r33 and c34 rb25 that would make a turbo act differently on them? Also has anyone else had issues with tin turbo flange gaskets?
-
I'm not on here for a dick measuring contest, I came on here to attempt to get a solution from people who may have had similar problems. I understand that yes if my car went in with a problem and they tuned it to the best they could that's all they can do. I'm not saying anything other wise. There is only 3 things that can be causing my boost loss. Turbo not making the boost, intercooler causing restriction and air filter causing restriction. How many people on here are using the stock air box? How much power are you making? What brand intercooler are you using? Oh I do have one stupid question. I have 2 air leaks in my pipework when pressurized from the afm pipe. My bov outlet has a pin hole between the bov and the outlet. And one of my tapper cover breathers, the system will hold 25/30psi when I put my finger over the breather, is this normal?

The receipt just says dyno tuning, il find the receipt to clarify if it was 4 or 5 hours as I'm not sure off the top of my head. It went in there with zero known problems, up until now the only indication something is wrong is the boost drop. Still with the tune i got I will happily not recommend them to anyone ever. I only went there because they were recommend by someone with a stagea. I thought they may have some idea what they are doing. I was warned not to go there by people with other cars, obviously they were right. I have very limited tuning knowledge but if someone wants to let me use their nistune password I will tune my car myself and if I don't get a better result then them I will admit that they are not completely useless.

That's what it weighed at work on the weighbridge. So not 100% accurate so yeah your probably right. $100 for labour trying to remove front shaft. $650 for dyno time. It is possible its slipping but I don't think so. Doesn't have that feel to it. I've experienced lag with the celica, the stag does feel like it tries to move but just dies in the ass at higher rpm.

Hey, I'm looking for someone to compare the power of my car to. So if you have an r34 and are wiling to take me for a drive or come for a drive with me it would be appreciated. Thanks

I dont trust them to fix what they did wrong, won't get money back so why bother?? This is the 3rd tuner I've been recommend to go to and have ripped me off. Buzz engines sumner park - set profec to 100% intercooler pipes came off 12 times on the way home before I noticed what they had done, they also kept my tps. Called them a few days later, shop closed and moved to America. $600 APC at underwood - haltech dealer - had my car 3 days, sorry we can't tune your haltech, $500 to replace a radiator hose and inform me that my stock engine uses the factory radiator hose. Lol ya think. EFI Performane at yatala - $750 you know the story.

Dumping the clutch at any rpm causes massive clutch slip as it's only a heavy duty. Chocco I think you are making assumptions, loosing boost is loosing boost. It was tuned loosing boost and still drives like shit off boost. I'm going to make a new intercooler at work and see if it helps. Im not convinced it's the problem but it's worth a try.
-
I have an excedy heavy duty clutch so I can't launch hard and lag let's them get away. I think I might make a new intercooler at work and see what happens. I deffinately need a retune anyway.

Ta22 1100kg - 132hp - flog everything I raced Stagea 1620kg - 306hp - beats 4cyl, even with 6s and gets flogged by 8s
-
I chose it as I was after 250kw. Before the stages I had a 1974 celica powered by a 3tgte. This is actually why I expected more from a 2.5turbo when I first got the stagea.
-
Efi performance at yatala. On a side note I should have learnt my lesson when they charged me $100 when they couldn't get my front shaft out and I did it in 10 minutes without a jack.
