dont rebuild your motor just by another rb20 that is your cheapest option. it would cost a bit to throw a 25 depends what sorta budget u are working with i guess. around 6k for a 25 conversion somewhere in that ball park anyways after u buy motor and box and consider labour but i would just buy a 20 that u can see is visibly running and comes with a compression test. buy off a reputable shop to be on the safer side as well they dont get good reps for no reason.

mates 32 had a simliar problem just check for leaks go over all your piping refit it and retighten it. if that doesnt work the next options are ignitor pack coils afm when your car does something strange like that they are the first things to tick off the list. this is an answer everyone on the forum would give u but until u start eliminating things its hard to find out where the problem is coming from.

check to see if the ignitor pack is earthed properly. btw my car is having spark problems atm i ve narrowed it down to a computer problem but i got a lend of some coilpacks and an ignitor pack and my car wouldnt even start with the replacement ignitor pack. i seen it taken off another rb20 tried it on mine and wouldnt even start b4 taking it back and puttin it on the other car watching it start quite happily first click.

http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq320/kaluah8123/turbo.jpg the whinning noise u can hear is the turbo on the way out speaking from my experiences anyways. u are much luckier then i am i could hear this whinning noise also didnt no wat the go with it was but i gave it a gut full in 2nd only to hear a high pitched pop which was the wheel shooting down my exaust with a lil cracking noise which was the wheel blowing a hole thru my cat:) this was also on the standard turbo. btw it was cause by the dodgy bleed valve where the bolt rattled out giving me unlimited boost for only a short while go it pulled harder ohh the memories: the standard turbos dont really like boost much mate so i would rip ur bc out and run just off the actuator as said above cos u are going to be up for a new turbo soon this is what your turbo will look like with unlimited boost continuing. P.S i retrieved some pieces of the wheel out of my exaust as a keepsake

let me guess u are not willing to sell the rubber seals in the doors? i m assuming its off a 4 door 32 expecting a no but i can only ask pm reply

from the person who said it was a parking aid that is incorrect to my knowledge from what i have read and i even checked it on my car whilst parked and the rear wheels do no move. from memory its something like 40kms an hour it clicks in dont quote me on that. its for high speed cornering and high speed cornering only. i took mine out and put a lock bar in as mine was playing up from time to time and i noticed the difference that it made. as far as cornering in the upper eshelon of speeds it makes a big difference in my opinion which i have noticed in my car. so in my own conclusion it is a very good idea and is a big advantage if u are wanting to get out on the track and set times but for most average people who would rather be OUT ON A TRACK drifting it is a bit of a pain in the ass

having an agruement with a guy from work atm as he thinks there is a wrx non turbo? i have never heard of such a car exist it is either a non turbo rx or the turboed wrx and sti. i have searched the net only to find another forum with one guy saying there is no such thing either i need a clear answer to tell this guy that he is blowing smoke out of his ass hole. essentially i thought that engine were similar with some different internal components, bonnet scoop, different front bar different interior etc but as far as a non turbo WRX which he claims his mate has one i dont believe it. WOW i said someone was sad enough to buy wrx badges and fit them. unless someone went to the trouble of buying a wrx with turbo and then taking it off and pluming up all the lines back to the block and coolant. he still says no its definetely a factory badged non turbo wrx. could i get a list of peoples answers so i can print it out and take it to work cos i work with a bunch of commo drivers at work who think jap cars are like rabbits and shouldnt be in the country cos they won bathurst in the early 90's, who no nothing about jap cars but just tell me to leave him alone and that he must no wat he is talking about. ty ppls

i think u should take a look along the lines of computer. if it drives fine at times then it i doubt it would be coils or anything like that as it would do it all the time. my rb is currently doing the same thing but proly slightly different reasons. but when u said the 4th gear thing it sounds to similar. it is an 89 but its a gts4, i ve been told anyways that is all controlled seperately, the comp i have sourced is costing 65 and i ve got some injectors ready and waiting for 20 . its just going to be a pain pulling out tha 550 sards putting the standard ones back in with the standard comp and hoping for tha best cos i m only gambling that it is the remap

the remap in the r32 gts4 that i bought is dodgy. it doesnt really idle properly and never has and it has started overloading the engine with fuel so i m sourcing another one . i m just no sure whether all standard comps match all standard r32's. mine is a manual turbo and the person that i m sourcing it off sent me a part number being 23710 11V10 MEC-R213 B 3211 i have been looking online for about 2 hours with absolutely no luck. any help would eb appreciated

have search the site for them and only find old threads but i m looking for a standard r32 computer and standard injectors anyone who can help out would be greatly appreciated

you wouldnt happen to be selling the injectors and computer?

if u got spark then it either a fuel or electrical . CAS or ecu would be 2 things to look at, my car got a real dodgy tune and that has cause me all sorts of problems like it starts sometimes but then idles like a dog and misses or it runs like normal on the odd occasion. these things are a bastard to find so happy hunting

having some problems with my car it has been missing something shocking. i have replaced the spark plugs as that is the easiest cheap quick fix but that didn't seem to have any effect. any suggestions as to what could be causing my car to miss? the best way i can describe it is the car drives fine for about 10 mins then as soon as i go to accelerate moderately hard it misses as soon as it comes onto boost. then there on after that it does it constantly throughout the whole rev range for a further 5 mins then goes away totally for a lil while. it has idled like a pig since i got it so the remap which was done on it is questionable so i was going to borrow someones standard ecu to see if that fixes the problem. but i am not sure whether it can do any damage to the computer or not. any help would be appreciated or other suggestions as to what the problem could be. ive explored the possiblility of coilpacks as it only does it when the car is hot but i would have thought once they are f**ked the car would miss the whole time.
