thats fair, I'm moreso curious from my own particular circumstance - owning a car with a Microtech LT10S and a KKR480 turbo, but looking at swapping over to a GT3076R (when funds permit), but also looking at a tune to curb the 18L/100km fuel consumption which is seriously bleeding me dry (have to drive 30km to get to Mildura and the fuel consumption is no different highway to town driving). In fairness to CRD who did the original tune, apparently climate factors are more important with MAP sensor based ecus (going from a very humid moderate climate to a very dry hot one).

yeah thats both pretty fair points from both you guys, I like that about SAU, the general consensus of logical thinking over emotions. I personally don't know if my TE37's are new or used given that I bought the car with them, they have gutter rash (FFS), but otherwise look fine. I personally don't like cheap rims, especially anything that can be bought from Tempe Tyres or Bob Jane, ESPECIALLY on a JDM car, and Koya Drifteks whilst looking better than your average BJ rim, are still an inferior copy of a Ray's LMGT4. I do agree with you Scathing, personally I wouldn't buy second hand coilovers that hadn't been rebuilt, nor a second hand turbo or wastegate, I prefer to keep things stock in that kind of instance rather than take the risk of an underperforming part. on an unrelated note, my best mate thought the rims he bought for his HR 31 were ROH, but as it turns out were Auto Strada Modenas in 17x 8.5 (not sure), and 17x 9.5 at the rear, they look fat as!

tbqh the game as a whole was a bit too easy, I tried doing the submarine level on hardened without using the Predators and that made me rage (especially trying to RPG the helicopter without either getting hit by crossfire or exploding trucks lol)
-
had some interesting discussions with other car fans recently RE: Vi-Pecs as a replacement ECU , there dosen't seem to be a lot known about them in the wider car enthusiast community. Trent since you're a tuner by trade how long do YOU think it would take approximately to retune a Microtech ECU?

lol there's an almost identical thread to this which has been sent to the wasteland, pretty sure the 'bag of sand in the intake' one was someone taking the piss, well thats what the original thread seems to say anyway. BTW marc, the old GQ here has Exhaust Gas Recirculation from the headers back into the intake apparently for fuel economy or some other BS

just bear in mind the amount of custom fabrication needed to make one fit, thats what put me off getting one!
-
thanks (OO)SKYLINE(OO) I'd been wondering how you maintain them since they don't appear to have a replaceable element
-
just finished the single player on hardened, a decisive ending would have been nice, or even a few more hours of gameplay! very slick game though, reminded me of a Jerry Bruckheimer action movie.

if you're working at the mines then surely you can afford to buy decent stuff for your car! steer clear of anything ebay, its just cheap rubbish, and the man who does things on the cheap invariably ends up doing them twice!
-
dunno where I read that about ray's manufacturing Work rims, but then hey I could very well be wrong! WTF is wrong with buying second hand rims from a parts place? going by that logic, no one should buy any used parts lol.

thats a pretty tall call to say that it's better than an ARC induction box. The Blitz LM filter I had previously seemed to let quite a bit of dust through :S so changed it to an Apexi Power Intake (which incidentally im not sure on how to clean out)
-
hey rowan why haven't you been posting in the wasteland recently, we miss you :X i quite liked the PSP when it came out, and i'm stumped that the gay machine DS (hurf durf i am a SNES with 2 screens lolz) is exponentially more popular.
-
pity only about 3 people own psps lol

My Microtech was tuned by CRD, and the tune on it is bloody abysmal (in fairness it was also taken there by the previous owner). 18L/100 fuel consumption, new plugs every 10k and have to start it 3 times when it's cold. Out of interest, how much is it to 'clean' up a tune like that?
-
haha I'm really curious as to WHY they took an RB26 and took both turbos off for an end result which while sounding good, is only marginally better in performance than the RB25DE! Does anyone know if it uses high comp pistons or if its just really a TT version with them removed?
-
the high temps don't really seem to faze mine touch wood, though I notice it being a tad laggier and I don't generally thrash it above 30 lol.

can't verify the claim that it works with all xbox versions one way or another, but that is the type seen in the 2006 360's - later ones had several different brands of drives. Only problem I can think of is is if you replace your drive and it's not from the same model, you might get flagged by xbox live and have your ass banned for not running original hardware.

Hks Japan 2.8 Engine Build
bozodos replied to elrodeo666's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
that is one sexy looking engine, awesome! -
I was about to mention that magazine test - not sure where you can buy 3A Racing filters from though, but at only 30 bucks vs over 100 lol, thats pretty compelling.

the local cops were all out in force the last two weekends, however this weekend it was patrols at ~11.30pm like usual, and of course 10 minutes after they head back down for their shift change everyone starts racing on the highway lol.

I don't see it as an offensive term by itself Smitzen, like calling someone a 'yank' or a 'pom' or a 'kiwi'. FYI, I was mentioning my own frustrations at these people who so blatantly flout the law on power restrictions, and get away with it whom ARE ALL OF ITALIAN DESCENT, NOT ANGLO. It's not a generalisation, I can think off the top of my head 6-7 Clubsport/Force 6/SS's which are driven by these guys, mostly on red P's. It's been going on for a long time when everyone else is trying to dodge defects or harassment for parking in public car parks minding our own business, or getting BS EPA fines. Please refer me back to the part where I said every HSV/FPV owner was from one particular ethnic group or the part where I made a sweeping comment, or said something hateful about said ethnic group. It would be like me saying for example 'bogans', 'mexicans' or any other particular subsection of society, re read my original comment, it wasn't a racial or ethnic attack so STFU, or write a letter to the Hun crying to all the other people of similar intelligence to yourself about it. ANYWAY Yeah I get what you're on about Ash, isn't it exponential, or logarithmic or something (can't remember the exact term. I haven't had mine tested but I'm pretty confident it would pass a noise test with no problems.

Well from what I've read, a JASMA stamped exhaust is meant to be under 92db - mine is 3" into a 4-5" tip. That said I've heard a Kakimoto Full Mega N1(i think), which got on 90db and listening to it at idle you'd think there was no way it could pass!
-
yeah I dunno about this bloke but I have seen an RB20 silvertop on an A31 unopened with an Impul ECU, East Bear front mount GT-R cooler kit, 3" zorst no cat or mufflers and a R34 turbo pull 170 rwkw, the car's track performance was able to speak for itself (ie was able to cane a stock R34 GT-T, and give my old 160rwkw VN SS a hiding lol; I admit there would be a weight advantage since this A31 weighs 1200kg lol)
-
are you trying to suggest that thread needs moar jiggawatts marty?
-
put em on the scales lol. From what I've read, Work rims (which are apparently made by Rays are targetted more as a 'VIP' than a racing rim and tend to weigh more.)
