  1. Oh mine does HATE how she's not allowed to drive it, but I usually drive her Datsun 1200 everywhere lol, my reasoning being that since my gearbox is currently crunchy on 4th gear changes + heavy pedal, that I don't want any extra damage done to the gearbox lol. She also hates the amount of time i spend on SAU with all my "internet mechanic loser poof buddies"
  2. Cool, I'm looking at a Nistune board or a remap when I get rid of the Microtech, but still wanted to have a display with readouts instead of having to buy several gauges.
  3. maybe people who post completely misguided stuff without looking up basic mechanical knowledge, and all the internet mechanics who copy paste "solutions" from other websites which are tangential and not related to the original problem at all, and the people who argue with a reasoned, logical opinion in their pigheaded attitude that they are right all the time should GB2 Boostcruising, Calais Turbo, Supercar forums etc.
  4. mind you I didn't fit the godawful Microtech to mine, but yeah that model was designed with 4cyl in mind but can be run on an RB with wasted spark.
  5. dude you asked if it had spark plugs or coils you f**king idiot. I bet you didnt know that you needed to drain the old oil when you service it too. You don't have to be 'good' with tools to be able to take the coil packs off and plugs out, it's hardly a complex job (even for a sheep shagger such as yourself). Whilst I may have mistaken the location of the ignitors in the Series 2 / NEO motor, its a common misconception, and I was quickly corrected by Mad082.

    Next?

sif KKR turbo, Ebay t70 baby! or a Rolls Royce Merlin engine, I hear they go alright
  7. gee fatz you have some purdy R32 GTR's, I'm jealous of your girlfriend!
  8. he should still eliminate the possibility first though. Iridiums lasted 80000km in my ol VN with no dramas FYI, pity the plugs in my R32 need changing every ~10000km due to carbon fouling does make a big difference when changed though.
  9. oh yeah makes sense, and there are displays that you can hook into your consult port I imagine too?
  10. therefore, what is the advantage in Nistune over a normal remap, and is there a way to get a multi function display to show engine vitals, boost pressure etc.
  11. she'll probably just try and sell you a MoTec exhaust though
  12. mine sits on 84 at the moment but its leaking coolant via the water pump which will soon be replaced. I have a fully sick Spac rad cap which has a nipple attached to a hose running down the engine bay and a nifty button to release pressure before opening. Yeah I know you're jealous of it
  13. this thread is the reason why I don't even waste my breath trying to talk to either bogans or one eyed import lovers about cars. ps rev[200] your links aren't funny, ninjas and maddox are f**king gay like chuck norris jokes, welcome to faggotry from 5 years ago.
  14. also interested in these injectors and yeah a pic would be good!
  15. the bogans giving you shit (ESPECIALLY with an N/A) might though I might go, if only to watch the complaining when everybody's dyno queen cars don't match up to their tuner's claimed power figures (usually due to the ambient temps being in the 30s and on a mobile dyno at that) hahaha. Turk1 your wheels should either have a sticker on them or have the offset stamped onto them, there is a way to calculate offset, but I can't think of it off the top of my head
  16. my gf was going to buy me Ray's wheel nuts the other day until she found out they were around $280 lol. Was impressed that she's learnt that much about imports to know the brand names and where to buy them lol.
  17. Just threw my new 5zigen twin muffler cat back on the other day, and fark me, I reckon it would be quiet as stock! Cause my car is a daily, I couldn't really cope with the straight through exhaust I'd had on there, and now since they have the EPA coming up here and handing out 500 dollar fines, I figured I'd go to the other end of the scale. So far so good - its incredibly quiet, but I've not noticed any performance drop, and the rear muffler at least is a straight through. It fits up perfectly, and sits a lot higher up than the Fujitsubo one I'd had on there.
  18. My GTS-4 has a Stagea RB25DET (series 1 type) and supposedly has a Stagea manual too (at least the receipt says) which is what I've been trying to work out whether I actually do have a Stag box and all the ATTESSA hardware or whether its just a standard GTS-4 box (was thinking this in regards to trying to find a Series 1 RB25DET ECU to replace the Microtech fitted).
  19. haha if you're coming here for one of our motor shows you'll probably be the only Skyline unless my HR31 owning mates decide to enter again (doubtful as generally the only people who appreciate them are either Japanese or our mates). Personally with rims I'd not go bigger than 17" on a HR31, R32 or R33 and 18" on a R34. Offset matters too - I have +22 x 9.5" on the rear of mine which juuust sit in the guards, and look fat as.
  20. again in my own words, instead of copypasta from elsewhere: I assume you're talking about using either Falcon or Commodore coilpacks and leads instead of the OEM type ones which sit directly on the plugs. From what I've read the two advantages of this are: less heat and its a lot cheaper than shelling out $500+ for coilpacks. I wouldn't bother. Wasted spark is where there spark is fired in pairs so in one of the cylinders it is being fired on the exhaust stroke, thus being a 'wasted' spark. My Microtech LT10S uses this as it only has 4 outputs, not 6 as in the LTX12 .
  21. a more concise non copypasta version is basically your 'splitfire or whatever brand' coilpacks are the blue or black things in the middle of the top of the motor with wires running to them and all petrol engines (AFAIK) have plugs. With the questions you're asking though, please don't do any work on it yourself since you're obviously new to motors. Older motors have a distributor and leads running to the plugs, with the twin cam RB motors the coil is directly on top of the plug and controlled either by an external amplifier on top of the motor or internally in the ecu (series 2 R33 and NEO). www.howstuffworks.com is good for explaining basic automotive concepts. its not always the coilpacks, a mate had a similar problem in his RB25DET NEO, it turned out to be ECU related, but try taping yours up first to see if it helps, there are plenty of threads on fixing coil packs.
  22. told EB to stick the goggles when i went in the other day, fark paying 200 bucks for a game, that is setting a dangerous precedent.
  23. yeah had to have a miss on it due to having to go to gf's house (no internet aaaaaaaah)
  24. the thought of any reputable Japanese mechanic recommending an Ebay turbo makes me lol btw.
  25. this is all about N/A owners who think they have some special rare street racing machine when you're rolling in the pov pack of the Skyline range. As I said before, even R31 owners have found the N/A motors to not really be worth wasting time and money on.
