  1. Wouldn't it be overfull with 2 extra litres, even with an oil cooler? as in the oil would cavitate?
  2. It makes me sad that nearly everyone has ADSL 2 apart from me!
  3. My fully farken sick 512k, generally Supernerd (current owner of Blitz who were shitcoonts) runs at 48-52k/s download, kinda hard given that the originating server is Sydney which is 1000km away from me lol. Think I need to make the jump to 1.5mb!
  4. I had a "performance mechanic" try and tell me the other week that I was pressurising the system due to having an atmo catch can and that it was the reason my intake plenum bolts were loose and had a greasy buildup around the gasket :S but yeah had already heard otherwise that venting the system to atmo was fine apart from the legalities of it.
  5. Damn, I thought this problem was exclusive to the RB26. I won't be going in any burnout competitions then lol.
  6. I would have thought the 4WD sump on the GTS-4, Stagea and GT-R would be big enough for normal sort of hard driving - mine takes 5.1 litres!! Obviously not in the case of the GT-R at least.
  7. I would personally go VH45DE because of the 6 bolt mains, the fact that it's still a Nissan, and the SOUND! I can see the logic in going the Chev route though, really a V8 Skyline of any sort is going to make people go wtf!? What about a 2JZ, thats a six!
  8. Out of interest, are RB25's prone to oil starvation in these sort of circumstances as well?
  9. I heard that Bolger fella was the Aussie Drift King so it seems appropriate
  10. Coming to think of it mine may have been a metal cat - the insides kind of looked like ceramic or something coated metal, and yeah it had sort of shrunk to a mass near the back of the cat, and was also full of soot etc. I could barely bash the big screwdriver and chisel through let alone twist them around, and I had to drill holes next to each other before the guts would come out. I'm sure that it wasn't one of those $400 metal cats though, may have just been a high flow.
  11. Wow, do you have any pics of the installation?
  12. The thing I find most interesting about PC upgrading though is the cost vs benefit, i.e is it better to get a decent cooling system, buy some cheaper components and O/C the buggery out of them or to just get something a little more expensive.
  13. Depends who's doing the remapping, apparently it can now be done on the RB25 ecu but it's harder or something to do?
  14. Yeah good luck telling the cops that your car registered as a GTS-T is actually non turbo now. See how far it goes. Ring up the RTA and ask, but I daresay that any workshop offering to do an N/A conversion on a turbo car for P platers is simply parting fools with their money. And ugh anyway, N/A Skylines are slow enough, imagine one without a turbo! I think my GF's Datsun would be faster lol.
  15. you broke 3 gearboxes? Maybe if you stopped raping them at every chance that might help! you can also do a RB25 box to RB20 if you don't have enough dosh for the whole lot, but doing the motor as well is a worthwhile idea.
  16. you have heatsinks on your ram damn I thought mine was fancy because it has a case that can be removed without cutting one of your fingers off or scratching anything and blue PCB's :3 partswise, I haven't been able to go past www.computeralliance.com.au in terms of price, a lot of stuff i've looked at is as cheap or cheaper than even ebay!
  17. Whilst direct ports from console to PC are often shite, as opposed to a game developed for multiple platforms in paralell, I'm starting to see less and less of a gap between Xbox games and PC. A case in point - Fallout 3 ran like a dog with no legs on my Centrino Duo 6550, 2GB RAM and 8400GS. I swap out the 8400GS for an 8600GT I got for very cheap and I can now have it playable in full screen not letterboxed (!!!) but bodies still disappear when more than 10m away. Whereas I can have the exact same game experience albeit smoothly on the 360. That was my watershed moment with computer games. I don't think I'll be bothering to upgrade again in the near future due to this fact. I'm also someone who during the 90s and early 00's was a vehement opponent of consoles in general. PSone games struggled to keep me entertained for >5min with about 4 exceptions, and N64 etc never grabbed me. The gaming world has changed since then though. Slightly more on topic, I'm lucky in that a mate bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of GT5, because I sure wouldnt!
  18. haha my boot is full of the massive box holding my fully farken sick Kenwood subs and gigantic Boss amp, I like the look of yours better, though I was tempted to just go for a stereo with no subs, but then realised that weight reduction + GTS-4 is a mutually exclusive thing unless im going to go on a diet and strip the interior etc
  19. lol pcfag. You neglected to mention that games are often much better optimised for consoles due to having the same hardware; and thus better hardware utilisation than a PC. Most games that I've played recently on 360 aren't too much different to their PC counterparts, though I guess this is also due to a lot of games being given a multi platform release now as well. (the other thing being that you don't get the same exclusive downloadable content on PC!) The last good PC car game I played was NFS High Stakes. My best mate and I played GT4 again and then the GT5 Prologue the other week, It kinda felt well... boring, apart from the fact that we could race a GTS-R vs R32 GT-R in GT4 I'll be hanging out for the new NFS title which is supposedly a return to the more simulation based type of NFS.
  20. Why do some of you guys need such large capacity batteries? Do you all have like 4 subs and 3 tv screens or something?
  21. Haha I'm a paranoid bastard and don't ever have the stereo on with the car off, but I still went a 520 mainly because of the cheap price and the fact that I don't have to worry about my subs and amp draining too much juice. Most of my mates just run a 330 or so CCA battery but they don't have fancy stereos either.
  22. Nice double post well if you've not done it before, it can be a pretty labour intensive job (I also only had normal drillbits lol).
  23. well decat turned mine from being a vacuum cleaner sounding POS which was struggling to boost until ~4500rpm and was sloooow as to a car which now lights up second gear and hits fullboost at ~4000rpm.
  24. I bought a Delkor 520CCA Calcium battery for $135, works good, had one in my previous car too.
  25. lol sick burn. I've seen a ~20 year old single cab Rodeo mocked up to look like a Prime mover, complete with lights, perspex bug protector over the bonnet, lights, rear view mirrors, stacks, flaps and a turntable on the tray! Wish i had a pic lol. The owner apparently went into a local truck place to see if he could get Jake brakes fitted as well roflmao. I have also seen a Datsun 1200 ute done up as a B&S rig, I felt sorry for a decent old ute being tarted up like a tawdry middle aged hooker
