  1. I see that a lot of what I've read so far is in the context of using various Meguiar's or Mother products, I need some advice re Autoglym (because all of my car cleaning stuff is that brand!) I also have to say that i'd not heard of using a clay bar before reading this thread, I think I'll definitely have to invest in one! I wash my car once a week with Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, then chamois, then once a month I use Autoglym Deep Shine Polish (Previously Super Resin Polish). Now from what I read on the back of the bottle, it sounds like it is a wax and polish in one? Or would i be better off only polishing once a year like mentioned earlier and buying some sort of Carnuba type wax to use on my weekly wash? Sometimes i wash it a second time if it gets rained on during the week, albeit just a pressure wash and pressure wax with distilled water and a chamois to finish. When i polished it this week, I noticed that a lot of the roughness on the paint had gone, but there were some visible swirlmarks, which I put down to me only having one microfibre cloth to buff with. Amidoinitrite?
  2. if you're handy with a welder, and creative, I'm sure you could make some sorta sculpture lol, "ode to the rb26" or something and at that link, Terminator table would be so awesome, or a xenomorph chair!!!~!!
  3. I was thinking along the lines of speed humps etc! Haha yeah I did get defected for having a straight pipe once but the cop decided my blow off valve was more important, which is incidentally why you can see a flange after the bend on the pic I posted, so i can swap a Super Dragger muffler in for RWC. I've decided now that I'll just get a whole legal exhaust though for RWC, rather than keep chopping and changing bits all the time! race cats ftw too!
  4. Yeah mine was creaky, so i went spastic with rubber gloves and grease one day, fixed the prob until I got a new master cylinder fitted, think I will try silicon spray or wd40 this time to avoid having grease all over the joint. I have the same problems with cold box, just gotta persevere through it. Rev matching does help the 5th - 4th grind on the down shift though. I am also going to try the Shockproof Lightweight when I have a spare $130, I have a 4th gear crunch which gets maddening at times! I'd prefer to get the box rebuilt or at least the synchros, but too much $$$ right now. I only let it idle for 30 secs to get the oil up into the head - the previous owner told me that you had to let it idle until the water temp was up to 80!! (takes about 10 minutes lol) From what i've read about bores glazing etc, I prefer to just put up my street doing about 40 in 3rd gear, then through town at about the same, and just ease it onto the highway up to 100.
  5. Take a leaf out of Mark Skaife's book? ha ha ha
  6. Table sounds good um sit them on your coffee table as a conversation starter? lol
  7. mufflers are for girls lol. Nice exhaust Nisskid, wish I'd thought of putting an angle on mine when I got my mate to do it. Btw how can you drive that on the street without scraping it off / attracting much attention!?
  8. lolin @ internet white knights ITT. It sounds more to me like a bunch of dudes trying to take this woman for a ride because she is a woman (and don't bullshit around here, mechanics and car dealers do this ALL the time), us trying to give helpful advice and then being told we're sexist for it!!! Most of the replies were seriously trying to help this girl out, though tbh, if chick's didnt want the attention, they wouldn't have a username like miss r34 which makes it bleedingly obvious to all and sundry that they are women. ps there are no women on the internet. fact. Oh and one other thing, it's not like shes researched anything thoroughly in the first place i mean come on, a N/A R34 and a T51R?! 500rwkw!? Of course that is going to garner criticism, especially when the overwhelming response of DONT DO IT ITS FOLLY is ignored.
  9. Cop would deduce from the issue and expiry notice on the licence i daresay. Wouldn't bother trying to dodge the system, you'll either get f**ked over or consumed by paranoia when you go driving.
  10. Well she does ask for advice but then bangs on about her engine builder and mechanic say this and that etc etc etc. While a forum may not be the be all and end all of advice, surely looking at examples of what other people have done to reach that sort of power figure must be indicative of the work/money involved. The other thing is I don't like the idea of someone going from a N/A to 500RWKW :S
  11. there was a fascinating guide on the net about 'breaking in' a motor in the first 5 miles or something of operation being the single most important factor of running in? http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm basically running it hard to seat the rings and remove the hone marks from the bores as far as I've skimmed though it. Fascinating theory, but I just don't know anyone who's done this.
  12. lol! yeah do a farken burnout carnt! Umm well a guy i know with a recently rebuilt RB25DET NEO motor is having to run it at a 4000rpm limiter and keep off boost for the first 2000km?
  13. I think that is a winner - the BRM V16
  14. Wouldn't the whole 30psi on C16 fuel thing to get 500rwkw really negate the car as a viable streeter? I can only imagine the lag lol. You should probably talk more to a reputable engine builder and state that you want 500rwkw etc (im hoping it's not the same one who supported you getting a supercharger lol), they should be able to give you a ballpark quote, I imagine it will be insanely expensive too. IIRC the T51R is $2600 as a bare turbo in the Garrett version or about $4000 for the HKS version through Nengun.
  15. well a mate has very similar ones on his HR-31 and they look great on it, only problem is trying to convince him to lend them to me for fear that I wouldn't give them back lol. I've emailed Exhaust Technologies about the flutes though, otherwise I'd probably go twin 2.5" on an angle, cause straight pipe looks shite!
  16. this is the exact design i'm after
  17. on a slightly related note i noticed that one of the local BP's has taken out their 95 octane premium bowsers and replaced them with e10 unleaded ones!!! I hope this isnt the start of a trend!
  18. thought the pic would resize well yeah Adelaide is closer than Melbourne, but I'd have no idea where to start to get onto someone who's got the skills to make me some!
  19. do you have any verification of your statement? Don't be a tightarse and run 98 octane.
  20. Dragging up an old thread, was wondering if anyone knew of an exhaust shop which could knock me up some flutes? I've been looking everywhere, and the local Carline reckons he couldn't be able to make something with a 3" flange diverging into flutes. I'm surprised at a lot of the responses ITT, I think that single cannons are overdone and boring, Super Drager type gas bottles are only good for getting a RWC and normal mufflers with tips just don't suit. I do however like the twin catback / cannon thing, I imagine it would be the most expensive exhaust option though. I've only seen one car with flutes around here and I reckon they look awesome on JDM cars, not neccessarily just drift cops! I've attached a pic of my current straight pipe exhaust, was thinking of putting them on at the last flange.
  21. dude if you've sold the whole exhaust, could you suggest some search terms to find another similar catback - I've been looking for a twin rear like that for quite some time now, but can't find anything anywhere!
  22. Lol yeah I've noticed a bit of a trend of P platers buying N/A Skylines, tbqh I don't know why, because I doubt too many 18 year olds would appreciate a car which might have great brakes and suspension but be caned by a Datsun or VN at the green light grand prix!
  23. Easiest way is to get a VL turbo motor complete with ECU. You can also fit the bits off a VLT motor onto your atmo 3L to make it a high comp turbo motor. I imagine www.r31skylineclub.com would have most of the answers you're after!
  24. Yeah i had to do this for 35km once (master cylinder decided to shit itself out of town), basically I managed to get it into 5th and use it as a poor man's auto for most of the way, but I was shitting myself when I came to a bridge with traffic lights that I was going to wreck the box from putting clutch in and pretty much forcing it into 2nd to take off again, but I got there in the end, and (so far so good), there wasn't any damage to it.
  25. LOL! OP, here is a link from Nengun with their pricing on the RB28 stroker, according to their website it will fit the RB25DET fine. http://www.nengun.com/tomei/stroker-kit-ni...ine-rb25-26-28l
