How Would You Build A Street Sleeper?
bozodos replied to R33_Dude's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I dunno about where you live, but if someone had a stock looking Chaser/Aristo/q45/Laurel around here, nobody apart from maybe 5 or 6 people I know would know what it was! -
How To Make A Rb25det Like The Mines R34 Gtr?

You have a graph with the comparisons? -
Yeah it's not something I'd expect from a Toyota, a Commodore maybe lol. Probably stupidly long service intervals are to blame though, none of their cars was properly maintained before I came on the scene argh!

Yeah um the back seat of the R32 is good if you happen to be carting around Asian school girls, for everyone else, its EXTREMELY cramped (even in mine with GT-R seats). In a R33, I could move my legs at least, but my head was still hitting the rear window (I'm 180cm), on the plus side, with 3 of us in there, we could go around corners without me spilling my beer In terms of front seats, both have acres of room unless you happen to be a very fat person. HR31 rear seat is somewhere in between a R32 and R33 for leg and body room. HR31 4 door was reasonably comfy as long as I had my knees on either side of the driver seat when sitting behind it lol. I try to strenuously avoid having back seat passengers in mine, its usually used to hold my CD wallet, random tools, bits of pipe, my club lock, hitchhiking spiders etc.

Curious about the recommendation of the HKS 2530 - a mate had one on a RB25DET NEO and it seemed to just run out of puff! He then swapped it for a HKS 2540 and the thing pulls like a frieght train with only a FMIC, EBC and exhaust! (running a Stagea computer though). -
I've noticed the same thing with the GF's Corolla, 10 or so years old, 140000km and burns oil like no tomorrow! pretty sure that one has 20w50 (albeit cheap shit united brand oil lol), not sure about when it had a proper service last, it blows a heap of white oily smelling smoke on cold start then is fine as far as I can tell. Surely plugs wouldn't make that much of a dramatic difference?

I think it was more about george and scott being arrogant faggotrons and deciding to remake the game every time a new bit of tech came along, from the leaked gameplay vid and screenshots it looked pretty good, the demise of the company is lol in the fact that 12 years of telling everyone nothing it has bitten them on the arse during the home stretch of development, but I really really really wanted to play this game. Latest news is that the publisher Take 2 is suing the remains of 3DR for not finishing the game lol.

All I could find about RB28 was in relation to the RB26 being the donor motor dude, at least in the english written parts of the Tomei website! BTW the mention of Ferrarri was taking a shot at someone's mindset rather than a suggestion of a motoring choice

We went over this a few months ago, but a direct replacement for mine was a GQ Y60 Patrol one, which I got through Nissan for ~$120 retail price.

Pontiac Is Officially Dead

Lol yeah I've seen a fair few Camira's getting around still, kinda remind me of the VN how they keep on going! You've got me on the build quality, we were just looking over the interiors and exteriors and engine bays, grabbing things and visually inspecting, compared to the Euro's we looked at (VW Golf, M3, SAAB 930?, Mercedes) rather than giving all a comphrehensive test drive. Mainly with the plastics they felt thin and you could feel the dags from the manufacturing process on the edges. The seat cloth in the SS and the G6E Turbo was more of an aesthetic problem to us than anything else though. Especially since my mate had a VX SS, we couldn't really see anything in the VE especially that seemed to make it 'better', we really should have taken it for a drive to confirm our suspicions though. -

Sif be Camira hating! those things are near indestructible! same goes for the Camry! They come under the heading of 'good thrashers' lol. Wheels does seem to be targeted towards more the kind of readers who are also into the NRMA/RACV magazines, ie boring baby boomers with a family. P.S best mate and I did the rounds of the dealers out of boredom last monday, and the build quality of the VE's and FG's we looked at was shithouse, especially the fabrics used in the seats and interior plastics. They both felt flimsy, cheap and ugly, the VT/VX were of much better quality. You can tell where the corners have been cut. -
eeiko, mate stop posting, you're looking like a failed troll. Chris_GTR sounds like your sockpuppet account btw. you sound like the kind of person who'd buy an el cheapo Ferrari to look cool and pick up skanks in the street. You may not realise it, but personal attacks and excessive swearing make you look unintelligent and poorly educated. I like it how you try and stereotype everyone with a non GT-R Skyline, hate to break it to ya, but the Habibs are starting to get into GT-R's too. You can't call yourself a car enthusiast if you're that narrow minded about them. I'd prefer a nice A31 or C33 or even a GTI-R to a GT-R. Aside from the obvious maintenence costs, I MUCH prefer a nice modded GTS-T/4 to a boring stock GT-R. Newsflash: Owning a GT-R even an R34 does not automatically make you cool. I personally think that the R33 and R34 look like boats compared to the R32 and HR31, but I don't go blathering on about it and trying to stereotype the owners (ESPECIALLY DERAILING A THREAD IN THE PROCESS). I'll attempt to wrestle this baby back on course; OP, have you made any more enquiries thus far?
-
I think this race will be decided on whether the BMW has Tempe rims in a diameter of 20" plus. If you want your R34 to go faster, try dropping the exhaust from the cat also IBTL!!
-
If it has a Mine's ECU it will have a plaque on it, I had one but I lent it in exchange for a stock RB20 one and never got it back, so I don't have a pic! The RB20 NICS and RB20 Silvertop ECU's at least will run fine on 98 RON fuel though.
-
Lol thats not bad then, I used 3 full tanks driving the 1000km back from Sydney to here!
-
lol. BTW does anyone know how to take the panel off an R32 without wrecking it? I have one of those light on ones, but it looks like it's stuck down with some sorta foam, wouldn't mind pulling it off and checking the electrical connections so I can have it lighting up properly!

Yeah I remember the first screenshots for TF2 around the time that Half Life came out, totally different looking game these days! I think that this shutdown could probably have been avoided if there was someone business minded at the helm of 3DRealms, the official arrogance of the managment there in their dealings with Take 2, and the fans (ie not telling them f**king anything for years at a time about the game), has resulted in this sudden closure, I mean who's going to lend money to a company which is releasing a product "when it's done"?! I have seen a number of the leaked screenshots though, and from the looks of it, it was going to be everything we'd been hanging out for over the last 12 years!

haha I got a mental image of the OP going into Autobarn and saying "hay bro i needa bit for mah fulleh imported skyline". Do you need an AFM or a Pod Filter bracket, or both? Chances are you won't be able to get a new AFM through Autobarn.

New Turbo Decision

Searching would be a really good start -
Well therefore a Supra TT is more of an equal to the GT-R, but the pov spec models still have the same look externally, which in fact dilutes the hero car's image. I don't know how anyone can find the supra attractive, they look like a hot wheels car, which ironically puts it at odds with the very conservative styling of many other import Toyotas. So really you can't say that they are any more 'rare', except for when you pop the hood. Not so with a GTS-T/GT-T/GTS-4 vs GT-R, with their easily discernable visual cues, so you can't really say the same thing about Skylines, can you? It's a bit farcical to say that you hate Skylines other than a GT-R, thats like a Holden man saying that he only likes Clubsports but not any other type of Commodore. Also in addition to not everyone wanting AWD, theres a lot including myself who aren't keen on the insane maintenence costs of a GT-R vs one of the lower models.

Just FYI as well Joshington, there was at least one other thread started recently about the same thing, basically the car's build plate will say that it is a turbo, and that in VicRoad's eyes means that you can't drive it, even if you happen to take the turbo off. (not to mention it's an incredibly daft thing to do lol)
-
how many km was it?

I hope that's a joke about taking off the turbo lol.
