  1. I saw a stock R33 GTS-T with Work Emotions, cheap shit autobarn bucket seats gauges and a GT-R kit swapped for a VS Calais with a mild 5 litre and stock rims last week so yeah if you want resale value, steer clear of the R33!
  2. Apart from the fact that they are SO blatantly made towards the PG-13 rating and audience (a sin which a lot of hollywood movies are guilty of). The acting is wooden, the plot threadbare to the point where it is only the stunts and special effects which holds these movies together (and likely gobbles 90% of the budget.) Vin Diesel is possibly one of the most wooden actors I've ever seen next to Keanu Reeves. Even the flawed live action Initial D movie shits on F&F from a colossal height.
  3. Does anyone know off the top of their head the appropriate specs for a HX35 to suit a Rb25DET?
  4. yeah my twin muffler Fujitsubo system was insanely quiet, both mufflers ended up rusting out though, so I replaced them with some pipe
  5. just FYI, my GTS-4 was 1490kg fully loaded when it had the RB20 in it. Also a mate's girlfriend got away with a R32 GTS-T on her Victorian P's, hope you are successful in your dispute!
  6. Have a read through here - I did before I bought mine! Don't get a HR31 unless you like the challenge of finding non existent / extremely hard to find parts, swapping parts from other nissans / skylines into it, and doing a lot of mechanical stuff yourself. I'd say R32 GTS-T or GTS-4 if you want to lash out, just beware that an RB20 4WD isn't going to be the quickest thing on earth. Depends also on whether you want to track / drift it or just drive on the street.
  7. I like the part where I pull up to other Skyline owners at the traffic lights and say "what's the retail on one of those?"
  8. Lol you're brave to admit that around these parts ;p
  9. The Microtech dosen't seem to be as common a choice on Skylines, though everyonewith a VL Turbo seems to run one, same family of motors? Perhaps one of the tuners could explain further? Mine has various issues, which seems to be a common thing with them (ie plugs fouling fast, bad fuel consumption due to not running 02 sensor, rough idling when cold). I like the dash display with it's array of warning lights and electronic gauges, but I'm seriously thinking about taking it out and running a remapped R32 ecu.
  10. Gee he must be gentle with it! A mate managed to smash one in a HR 31 with a NICS RB20 with a R34 Turbo and Mines ECU! This wasn't from excessive thrashing either! :S Mate 2 managed to smash one in a HR 31 Passage with a silvertop and GT2530 (don't know power figures for either, but not the best track record lol). I'd be kinda wary of them myself.
  11. So is there in fact any evidence to prove that having a recirculating BOV is beneficial or offering any gains at all? Also the A31 RB20DET did not have a factory BOV, whereas the R32 RB20DET did, I always thought they gave a slight performance increase due to the air charge not being forced back through the turbo or being vented to the engine bay.
  12. Looks very similar to the item in A31 Cefiro / HR31? I'm not 100% because I don't have one here to look at though.
  13. Beer Baron were you able to recall in the end what the alternate brand name for those clamps was? As I'm sure Sard ones would be v. expensive. They also look a tad reminiscent of V-band clamps! I've not had any problems so far with the $5 t-bolt clamps i get from Cummins, but then having the ridges welded over the joins really seemed to help as posted elsewhere in the thread, I'd though that my mate and I had dreamed that up until I read this thread lol.
  14. My laziness in not drilling out the piping for a return line makes it unable to recirc I'll do it one day hahaha
  15. haha i loved the whole 'simple jack' part of tropic thunder, wish F&F could take the piss out of itself like that but then thats where the charm lies I think
  16. even with a lockout bar, mine did this when the end of the speedo drive cable had decided to start to disintegrate.
  17. I'd post a witty "GTFO" image macro in response to that, but most have been stripmined already. Seriously, if you're just going to spam a thread to up your postcount by saying "SEARCH PLEAZ", why do it? It's not helping anyone, but it is making the thread more difficult to read through. Given the amount of moderation on this forum, I'm sure it would have been locked already if it were deemed pointless or irrelevant. Anyway, I guess I'll be trying the 3A Racing filter next time, I'm always wary of oiled pods shedding oil into the intake piping though.
  18. TBQH I would have thought that you'd be trying to get the bargain cars to import these days due to the abysmal exchange rate! On another note, could you explain to me why everyone I know with a HR31 seems to get them here from Japan in almost always better condition than a R32?
  19. eeiko321 : I was referring to the superfluous post made on the previous page about a smart arse comment to use the search button! thanks for the link, I was hoping someone would find this!
  20. Saw one of these babies in Mildura the other day, couldn't believe my eyes, neither could my mates, we all collectively wet ourselves, they look even better and fatter in real life than in pics! I tracked the owner down 3 days later loading up the boot full of groceries at an Asian supermarked (!!!), Japanese guy, privately imported it, he seemed really embarassed when I asked to take a pic though his girlfriend didn't mind
  21. awesome video, seems like a remarkable achievement of the R32 to keep up like it did given that the other cars had around 200ps more!
  22. could be worse, it could be a VL Turbo being the hero car lol.
  23. I actually have less probs with the joins now due to the fact that the new clamps are roughly twice as wide as the old, and there's no perforated bits on the clamp to dig into the silicone! J pipe is a pain in the arse since I change plugs every 5-10 000km, but I replaced the throttle body join with some really expensive hose, which seems to not be as prone to leaking as the original join.
  24. Well cause I've got non standard intake piping with no provisions for a recirculating valve, I've got the standard one back on there, but blanked off, with the piece of hose running nowhere. I'd like to have a recirculating valve again purely for economy, but I'm lazy and this also keeps the heqtiq dosing.
  25. thanks for an utterly useless, shit post. Next time don't bother if you're not even going to attempt to contribute.
