  1. f**k i've got like 5 pages of posts to go through... Theo Parrish has gotten my attention lately, probably a bit of an aquired taste.
  2. I'm hearing ya re: changing off BN for a while - after I blasted through 5kg of banana WPI, BN was the last thing I wanted. 2kg of super sweet ON Gold Standard later, and I'm switching back to the cheaper blend they have out. Some of us consume 3 shakes a day for our 3 hour arm workouts fyi Birds
  3. Looking back on this thread, I guess my idea of an ideal physique has changed a bit, as what is realistic natty, vs what is realistic on 3g of tren + test a week is fairly wide apart. Hence why untested SHW powerlifters look remarkably different to IPF. Every pro strongman is on gear, no question, also big boy genetics. I'm also not a fan of untested "powerlifting" these days (sorry GPC devotees), so I don't find them as impressive. Bodybuilding isn't quite as clear cut, I guess I would have to say Layne Norton as he is both natural bodybuilder + strong powerlifter and all of us powerlifters are closet bodybuilders to some degree.
  4. Nice system, it's the one I would have got had I a spare 3k at the time. You can't really lose with a bigger exhaust for an LS - for me its just ground clearance that is the issue! Single 3" will sound like shit and will be a restriction btw.
  5. yeah that's why I said chop the middle mufflers if you must do any. Bear in mind that if you do change the cats and headers after that, it's going to be REALLY loud lol
  6. what is 'best' is mainly subjective, as is perception of drone. I have a twin 3" Xforce on mine with 100cpi cats, 4 into 1 extractors and a H type merge. Sounds good, but at 100km/h on a slight incline in 6th it will drone. I'm not worried because I generally turn the music up louder. Sounds great otherwise, and not insanely loud unless you stand on it. You don't lose anything down low with bigger pipes, but you will gain a little bit up the top and it gives the LS a deeper note. I wouldn't be f**king with a DF exhaust unless you already had cats and extractors and it still sounded crap. Bear in mind that you'll want a tune after that point. Whatever you do' don't drop the rear resonator, it'll make it drone terribly. Remove centre mufflers if you intend on removing anything. I also used to run no cat and a straight pipe on my Skyline though haha. Oh and Commodore forums are pretty ordinary for the most part. Grumpy old men on LS1.com.au and mang machine warriors on JC.
  7. I'm guessing it's not GOMAD, so lots of soy or peanut based products?
  8. Most days I'll consume 120g of protein from meat, and 80-90g or so from shakes and milk. If I get keen on the milk, more like another 20g or so. I could probably eat more from meat, but not lean meat like chicken breast.
  9. Yeah it's hard to eat enough protein if you're not trying to gain weight, that said, I don't really like the taste of WPC and tend to find it bloats me, so I prefer blends or WPI. I do have to tell a lot of people that I don't think that protein powder has any magical effects etc etc though.
  10. I figured their Protein Matrix was their attempt at an ON Gold Standard knock off
  11. I train at a powerlifting gym, and FWIW, I am the only one who bothers with a post workout shake (out of not wanting to have dinner straight after). I had 750ml of iced coffee today right before squatting, felt bad man.
  12. Use the duragloss products I mentioned in my last post, or Nanolex if you can afford it. My paint is still fine after 3 years of sitting almost constantly in sunlight. If I wasn't lazy, I'd do paint correction with some Menzerna products, but otherwise the 105 and 601 combo combined with regular washing and semi regular Aqua Waxing does the trick.
  13. PA, also I competed raw, no belt, sleeves or wraps of any sort.
  14. Went in my first comp today, managed 212.5 / 120 / 202.5 @ 122.6bw. Was pleased with the results (and not bombing), perhaps if i'd been a a bit more conservative with the 3rd attempts, I might have gotten more. It was good fun though, despite being a very small comp, also good to meet some referees and lifters from away. Training starts for the next comp soon!
  15. not sure what numbers for the comp as it's my first, I'll open with something like 190 sq, 170 dead, 100 bench and go up. General consensus is to start with something you can do for 3. I wear stretchy shorts that end midway up the thigh. Had several blowouts with other types of shorts due to my low squatting, these are basically untearable. Got them from Big W (though they no longer appear to sell them).
  16. yeah I put on a couple of kg over xmas, can't go on a calorie deficit yet, as I've got my first PL comp coming up. After that though I'm going to spend the rest of the year or so trying to get down from 120-125kg to 105-110.
  17. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/asia-oceania-championships livestream of the IPF Oceania Championships if anyone's interested, I was surprised to see the ratio of raw to equipped lifters! I'm hanging out to see the 120 and 120+ men's raw which should be on Saturday.
  18. been listening to some metal again lately, I prefer it when I'm training.
  19. Interesting thread. I originally sold my Skyline after coming to the realisation that I didn't want to spend lots of money doing the usual 20 year maintenance on a car that sat outside in the elements, needed all front and rear bushes replaced, rubbers + 100000km service all at the same time; heavily modified 20 year old import and 80km a day of country roads really took their toll. Sold car at a huge loss just to be rid of it, bought a Commodore etc etc, happy days. Fast forward to now, it's on the borderline of too modified to really want to daily, and it feels a waste to start it to drive 5km / 10 minutes in third gear. I'd love to have another shitter to not care about for a work bomb / dog transporter! I got my mrs a SSS Pulsar (new one) over the MPS due to the almost 20k price difference, fun little car to drive, I imagine it would be even better with sway bars and a tune. Best sports car under 30k IMO (retail is 36k, got ours for 27 without too much negotiating).
  20. fancy gyms there - t the PL club I train at has mostly the ABC black anodized bars, there is a couple of Iron Edge ones that have finer knurling, they all feel pretty good to my hands, though the Iron Edge ones cut into the top layer of the skin with heavier deadlifts.
  21. most of the whining i'd seen was idiots bagging out the use of control vinyl and the Serato sampler, apart from 'who is this nobody'
