  1. I've had the matte black on my wheels for about 6 months, it's great stuff. Only issues were: can't really clean the wheels by hand as brushes etc are too harsh, and tyre gel looks crap on plastidip! Bear in mind that when you change tyres it will wreck the edges - I was lazy and just went over the wheels again, however it's started to peel again off one of the fronts, so I'm tossing up on just pulling it off all 4 and redoing it. I've also pressure washed the crap out of the wheels every single week, it doesn't budge unless it's been 'picked at' on the edges. Even if you do a hatchet job of spraying it like me, you can blend it in easily and it tends to meld together as it dries. To do wheels at least again, I'd just leave them on the car, put garbage bags on the rotors and do them on the car (after cleaning with dishwashing detergent). About 4 quick sweeps over each wheel is all they really need, ended up being 2 - 2.5 cans from memory.
  2. because the immanence costs on them suck. I did mention for a daily, tuned LS1 is as economical as a 6, especially in a 6 speed. Think 9-12l/100 depending on the type of driving. Would be my pick for a non POS to drive daily (that or a Silvia lol)
  3. in all honesty, VX HSV's are starting to hit 10k or so. Probably about as good and as new as you'll get (or you could take your chances with a BA XR6T). marc refer to this haha:
  4. ohh like the black exhaust gasket goo? Also a good idea that I had not thought of!
  5. I had that exact thought as I was driving into town before actually, I'll try it out!
  6. I always figured you for a fan of Rippetoe!
  7. Ok so I've got some Stage 8 locking header bolts installed (on an LS motor but generic problem) Thing is the blasted things have circlips (to lock the locking tabs) which rattle and make a noise pretty much the exact same as pinging so I want them to be quiet. I'd thought of superglue, but I would think that would just burn off due to the high temps at the engine. Anyone had similiar issues that they fixed, or did everyone not be tight arses and just use studs in these sorts of applications?
  8. I'm surprised they don't use something like Mainlube in such a rare motor!
  9. yep it'll sound like absolute shit. Save $ for mods on your next car
  10. challenging commonly accepted norms tends to bring out the torch and pitchfork mentality in some people... especially those who see BBW as a fetish. A lot of people get worked up about bodybuilders for similar reasons you know. It's like suggesting to the chronic curlers / cable guys that maybe some of that time may be better spent doing compound lifts
  11. hahaha the good ol days when the Wasteland was free of newfags and was also in the top 10 results for BBW in Australia Never banned, warned several times though. Barbs got permabanned, don't know exactly why though, Ash keeps banning his dupe accounts too I like my women plus sized, but I hate being fat myself, hence the newfound interest in health and fitness.
  12. as if not act like an autistic in the gym, it is after all a breeding ground for obsessive compulsive behaviour
  13. had to skip leg day today, hating myself right now, and thinking of the squats that could have been
  14. You mean a once in a generation investment into the communications infrastructure of the entire country which has been in dire need of upgrade for years, and would not be financially viable to do any other way?
  15. You're still not getting it are you. LEGITIMATE uses of large amounts of bandwidth and the underlying technology (that will last without upgrade WELL into the forseeable future) not to mention scalability is what I'm getting at, not discussing semantics about whether people really *need* high speeds to illegally download etc. The amount being invested now is a drop in the ocean compared to the return on investment and future possibilties available. I do happen to work in tertiary education - the focus at work is more and more and more on video conferencing, VOIP, hosted services, online delivery and course content as well as document management etc. This is not "decades into the future", this is happening now, and I've seen bandwidth requirements quintuple here in 3 years alone.
  16. yeah it's only the "IT fanbois", until mum and dad can't use their T-Box because one of the kids is watching 1080p YouTube streams, or can't use Skype because someone's downloading the latest episode of Game of Thrones, someone can't watch their uni lecture online because someone is playing games online etc etc. The reason that those of us in the industry rant on about it, is because we know how much bandwidth the "average" user uses, and with the exception of the baby boomer generation and older (and even then that's starting to get lower with the prevalence of ipads etc), it's growing at an exponential rate. You must associate with a small clique of Luddites, the internet and associated services are ubiquitous and widely used by MOST people. To me it's like saying that the Hume Highway should have been kept single lane and asphalt. There are VERY FEW people who actually get above 20mb/s on DSL, and outside the cities and major centres, it's even worse. I could give you the TL;DR explanation as to why, but simply put the technology is at the end of the road, and cannot cope with the amount of growth on it.
  17. really? nearly every person I know now gets all of their music and TV off the internet or IPTV based services to cite one example, let alone services like Skype and other VOIP type services. I don't think you're really getting what I'm saying here - on a typical DSL connection, even two people using YouTube simultaneously will flood it, and the technology is getting more and more bandwidth hungry. There is NO WHERE to go with dsl (VDSL FTTN is utter crap btw).
  18. tried Smith machine squats once, felt so unnatural and wrong that I'd rather not squat than do them.
  19. love the lyrical themes of this song the entire Raining Blood album RIP Jeff Hanneman, you were the best part of Slayer, this album and band got me into metal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msIL-9r2HGM
  20. don't you get all of the BCAAs that you need from sources of protein like food and shakes?
  21. you like the leangains philosophy? I found the OEP just helps me a bit with the habitual eating rather than eating when my body is in fact, hungry. I'm still doubtful about intraworkout supps, extra BCAAs, 'pump' supplements etc, they all seem to cater to the broscience crowd, and it's hard to find any objective information or research!
  22. well I've done challenge one, I wish my gymbros were up for doing squats more than once a week, instead of insisting on fluffing around with cables etc. TTT are you a big fan of Starting Strength or just squatting? Is it normal for gyms to not allow photos / videos? in mine it's expressly forbidden.
  23. I tried samples of Myo Blitz, C4 and Black Powder the other week. C4 tasted the least shit, made me feel like an animal in the gym, tingly hands etc, the other two did absolutely NOTHING. Taking Oxyelite Pro now to try and help a bit with fat loss, so not taking any PWOs at all, apart from a banana 1.5 hours before. I was starting to get a bit autistic about choice of protein powder etc based on the studies of having a casein / whey blend on fasted people, until I read further into it and realised that it's not like you don't eat for 10 hours before training in the real world.
  24. Well the oil testing crowd f**ked up 2 samples from me, so gave up, forgot to grab another branded kit when I got the oil changed again farken, so will have to wait another 10000km to get a sample for analysis
  25. I think you'd find that while for a lot of people, current ADSL speeds are 'enough', there are a couple of factors to consider: 1) DSL is at it's upper limits and can't really be upgraded further 2) the underlying Telstra infrastructure is obsolete and in dire need of replacement anyway (gee wonder if that's coincidental with the company being privatised...) Why on earth would you not seize this oppurtunity to upgrade it all! 3) whilst your average 10-16Mb/s DSL connection is adequate for one user, when you have multiple users and devices in one house or business, it very quickly becomes a bottleneck. It's only going to get worse in the future. 4) the increased marketing of 'cloud' applications and services + high definition streaming / media content etc. Ever tried uploading gigabytes of stuff to say DropBox from your DSL connection? that's right it truly sucks. The pricing from most of the ISP's is still in the ludicrous stage, but i think you all need to remember what the pricing was like when ADSL was the new thing, and ADSL 2, HFC cable, 56k dialup etc etc. With a larger userbase it'll start to come down once the ISP's have larger numbers of customers who don't use all of their data quota (the premise of which most ISP's run on). The bigpond plans are a f**king joke as per usual, 256k capping on the nbn is utterly farcical. Unfortunately it looks like our area will miss out on the next NBN rollouts yet again despite having several large fibre links through here since we already have a HFC and fixed wireless service available (wireless spectrum is completely full, HFC is only within the border of the older part of the town).
