not true, we buy alienware laptops for some of the guys in our department (IT), and they simply do not discount, compared to the massive savings we get on our Optiplex and Latitude units, even on Poweredge servers! As for the comment about GTX280 and 260 etc, that shit is old guys, 4xx series has been out for a while now. That said, I'm not a huge fan of "desktop replacement" laptops, as you'll never get near the performance of a gaming desktop (btw the older Alienwares have gay ass speedstep settings that you need a third party tool to circumvent when on AC power)

no what I'm doing is bursting the bubbles of PS3 fanboys who somehow think they have a superior console based on anything other than purely subjective reasons (ie shape of the controller etc). TBH the only thing that sways me towards the Xbox is the fact that it has more DLC and platform exclusives than the PS3. The only two of any note for the PS3 are GT5 (which everyone I know was disappointed with, bucking the trend of the forumgoers here) and Final Fantasy. I still think Xbox games are bloody awful compared to the PC, CODBLOPS looked shitful, though the multiplayer was set up a lot better. I don't think I'm biased due to owning an Xbox, Xbox 360 and a PS2, as well as always playing my mates PS3s and xboxes due to none of them owning a decent PC. Yeah they tried to make consoles too much like computers and in doing so have diluted the computer gaming experience with sub par graphics due to multi platform releases, and games that have to hold the player's hand all the way through, but that's a topic for a whole different thread! In regards to the Wii, what I said speaks for itself. Shite graphics, TONS of gimmicky games that nobody wants, and generally used for first party games (ie Wii Fit, Sports, Mario etc)

hahaha ohhh i remember those days, had to go to my uncle's to use cable, and he was paying $350 a month!!!! was so incredibly effing awesome compared to my 56k, but IIRC, most sites and file sharing programs just did not have the upload speeds to saturate such a connection! I have had quite a few people here all on the same exchange complain of slowness lately, my hunch says that they may have done something like that here :S btw a 10gig fibre connection would be so insanely expensive it's ludicrous!

it's times like these that I'm really glad I live in the country and don't drive when the cops do their all to predictable blitzes. Well that and the other thing I've learned is that most are farking lazy so if you're driving in the right hand lane they generally cbf pulling you over unless you have some kind of attention seeking mod or are out for your arse! The other thing I've found is that you can get away with so much more if your car and the bits on it looks like a filthy pig most of the time

haha Rolls, they look alright, but a bit toooo much like an XF or aussie R31 for my liking, I have two close mates who are in love with them, I lol at them buying overpriced parts from R31House and having to look high and low for model specific parts

lol yeah divvy, took me like 4 or 5 hours to get to level 18, took me like 30 hours to get to level 18 in bc2! (mind you this was also due to playing classes and weapons I suck at to level up each class)

sounds like you may as well be using an xpox or your ps3 as a media extender then marc most people I know with dedicated media centres are running a Core 2 Quad, decent GFX for transcoding and SSD's lol.

I'm not biased towards any console, they are all shit for ruining PC gaming. Xpox wins though due to better exclusives, and slightly less sucky graphics than the PS3.

discrete graphics is a shiteload better for transcoding / high def playback, even a 70 dollar video card will crap all over integrated. given that nearly all motherboards have at least 5.1 if not optical out / 7.1 sound inbuilt, why anyone would bother with a stereo only motherboard is beyond me.

PS3 is hella overrated, if you HAVE to have GT5(most overrated game of the year), or Blu Ray then yeah, otherwise Xbox 360 is the go. PS Move and Kinect are a waste of fkn time and yes i've used both. Wii's have crappy graphics and a lot more crap games in general, only really any good for Mario games (of which most of the big sellers seem to be). Good for kids maybe, but you'll be disappointed if you want to play anything that's designed for anyone older than 10.

yeah awesome deal on bfbc2, I bought super meat boy for $3, but yeah quite a few of the games have been discounted before, or are shit btw gheys, both crysis games are like 3.74 today

flamers are awesome around cap points lulz like I said, haven't had time to give it a good playthrough, and M113 would have been nice, M16 seemed underpowered for what it was, same with the M14; it really seems to favour those who have already leveled up in BC2. Hopefully they will keep on improving it, but until then it's still the best vietnam game I've played apart from Seal Team and the abovementioned OpFlash mod

haha I did actually think of the OpFlash mod, the single player campaign in it was damn near farking impossible though! I've only had a chance to play it briefly, but +1 on chokepoints, and wankers using flamer all the time, but its otherwise not bad. needs moar open maps tbh
