if it is asking for a boot disk, the pc is trying to tell you there is no operating system (windows) found. make sure your hard drive connectors are in position firmly and that there is power to your hard drive(s). if your pc was working before you installed the ram (by working i mean going into windows), try removing the ram and try again. ram can cause post to hang and in that time the optical drive might not respond. /shrug

+1 nicr4wks As long as they are same SKU its all good. For Kingston RAM, DIMM information is included within the SKU ie: KVR800D2N5K2/4G is KVR = Kingston Value RAM 800 = Speed D2 = DIMM Type N5 = CAS Latency K2 = Kit of 2 4G = Total DIMM/Kit size Ciao

ie, ff, and chrome stack per tab/window, chrome being the worst. if you are running vista this will be because of dwm.exe. the way dwm is utilised with windows 7 is far more improved and should abolish the issue you are having. just for shits and giggles (if you have vista ofc), open task manager (start -> "taskmgr.exe", or ctrl+shift+esc), and see the utilisation of dwm.exe. then, open up tabs or windows and check that usage again i use ie8 and it does the job nicely. the only reason you should have gone to firefox or opera was because of the unfortunate variations of css before rfc implimentation. css3.0 is being worked on atm and all browsers are to be designed to view the page in the exact same way (thank goodness for making 2/3 versions of sites with js to direct them to the appropriate one! ) ps: remove aero theme and see if that fixes your issue

depends on the reseller. if you shipped the unit direct to seagate, it is a brand new replacement. they generally dont hold old stock. but as for the reseller, it is hard to say. post the details on the drive and i can get you some more info.

anything happenin with this nismoid?

if this is referring to the servo lock issue, it is for hdd codes ending 333as/340as for the 1tb drives. there was also an issue with early 1tb drives where the pcb fails. unfortunately this was on more than one of the factory fw releases so it made it hard to pcb swap. the newer drives ending 528as havent had any come back as yet.

OK! So, I'm looking for a colour sample of something thats in my head but many pages of google image is not helping. Oh what do I do!? Well, I came up with a little something which may also be used anything other than a colour sample. Each step has an image so it should be pretty easy to follow! 1. Create a new image. Set it to 500px * 500px 2. Fill the background with any colour other than Black or White 3. Goto Filter -> Render -> Lighting Effects 4. Change the Light Type to "Omni". As far as lighting position and properties is concerned, please ref to image below: 5. Duplicate the current layer (Background). Hint: Ctrl+J 6. Auto-correct the Levels (Ctrl+Shift+L). 7. Change the Layer Type to "Colour Dodge". Also, change the Fill % to ~50% (This will vary on taste etc) 8. Create a New Layer. Fill it Black, and goto Filter -> Noise -> Add Noise. Use settings as per the image: 9. Follow Step 7 for the New Layer. 10. For the fun part! Select the "Background" Layer and goto Hue/Saturation (Either via Image -> Adjustments, or via shortcut (Ctrl+U)). Tick the "Colourise" checkbox, Move the Saturation slider to 100. Then, move your Hue slider across to the colour that suits. For tutorial purposes, ill choose a blueish colour (200-250 Hue). Now, youll notice that the bright spot is intensly white. So, move the Lightness slider down to a tone that suits you. There you have it! My final product has a "clear coat" so to speak, if you want to know about that, just post! See below Cheers

Sorry for newb question here. Ive been offered a set of RAYS TE37 rims suited for GTR (I think the guy said 18x9.5 +12). Will these fit on my GTS-t? If so, will i require to excessively flare the guards or anything like that? Been a while since I played around with rims and what not so just asking for some clarification here. I completed a search and got mixed emotion on the subject, so if anyone who has 18x9.5 +12 all round on their GTS-ts could you please assist? Help much appreciated. Regards

In a nutshell to 1, yes. However, the option of choosing filesystem in Windows GUI is some what limited, and will not show FAT16/32/eX always. For example, to create a bootable Windows Pre-install USB Key, you cant format via Windows GUI and copy the files over, you must choose the FAT32 method via DISKPART, as GUI leaves you with bupcus. Another advantage of using DISKPART to clean the volume is that a format via Windows GUI only does steps 6 and on, unless you do a full format, which is used to zero all sectors on the drive itself, and takes a mileneum to complete (especially with 3.5" 1.5tb desktop drives available on the market).
