Excellent, this reset works! Thanks to poster. How did you figure this out anyway? My take on the origin of the warning light was due to seat belts being replaced during the compliance process.

Anyone here had any experience with the Blitz throttle controller on their V series skylines (particular 350GT-8/ PV35 model)? http://www.nengun.com/blitz/throttle-controller http://www.blitz.co.jp/products/electonic/..._controller.htm The claim is that you can select 4 different throttle curves: Economy Mode Designed to provide smooth throttle response for street driving providing greater fuel efficiency Sport 1 Throttle is opened greater at lower revs compared to standard, providing faster low down acceleration but with no modification once the revs increase. Sport 2 The throttle is opened at twice the rate of standard acceleration, designed for sport driving and circuit use. Sport 3 Extreme sport and circuit use, the throttle is opened at four times the standard accelerator action. There are positive results on the web for other fly by wire throttle cars (Colt turbo, Yaris) but no skyline.... yet I've got one on the way and wanna check if anyone's tried it (or if I'm really gonna be the test mule). I'm not sure what to expect, but have often thought the GT-8 could be quite more interesting with a slightly sharper throttle response. Cheers, T'

Mate, when you loved your R33 and went cruising as much as I did, YEH! The 300C's were from Instyle Wedding Cars. Great service. They were the ones I found that had the Bentley grill and 22" chrome wheels. Doomsday huh? Well, I'm sure glad it's all over

Hi Everyone, I just got married last Sunday Nov 11. The funny thing was, our wedding convoy (2 silver Chrysler 300C's Hemi V8's with 22" rims) was passing by EPPING station at about midday, and there was a huge convoy of SKYLINES and a Silvia or two stopped in the left lane. There must have been at least 20 skylines, R33's, R34's, R32's. No V35's though. If it was a cruise or any guys from here, I just want to say thanks for all the honks! It was these little things that just made our day perfect. T'

My 350GT8 Sedan shows: 9.1 kms/L, which translates to: 11 Litres per 100kms with a mix of city and tollway driving, flicking over to tippy mode quite often. On a recent trip up the coast I got something like 800kms out of one tank. Normally I'll get 550-600kms. The economy I think is acceptable. Not sparkling but with the longer range at least you don't need to fill up as many times as in an R33. T'

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I thought it could it be an ABS or brake initialisation problem, or the foot/parking brake may be stuck or damaged? Usually when I roll off in the morning, the brakes make a small noise, like they are being tested or initialised. This only happens once after starting and crossing 10-15kph. Will the engine rev out in neutral? What about the VDC (traction control) Hope it gets sorted out soon. Btw, I saw a black 350GT8 on mountain st broadway about a week or so ago, and nearly jumped out of my seat. was it you?

I've only taken 1 decent (read, not mobile phone) pic so far. But there will be more coming. Out with the old and in with the new so to speak. I read somewhere that the 2003 model comes with better suspension factory. Apparently it is harder and sportier than the 2002 (rather than a bit too soft and plush, which is my current finding with the car). But if you can't get the 8 speed CVT after 2003 that would suck more than having soft suspension which can be easily changed. This car is going to be real nice slightly lowered on sportier suspension. The lttle square feature panel with "skyline" on the back doesn't bother me, but the boot lid feels kinda bare and is going to get the low profile strip spoiler (wald) and some decent wheels

Yep, had it less than a week. I'm loving it. in terms of refinement it's mile ahead. Perhaps having less character than the earlier series of skyline. But it's very easy to live with. Yes, Mazda 3MPS sounds good, but it is FF and a different class of car. Picked up sound on the TV, but just fuzz on the screen. I tried a DVD but no luck so far. I've yet to sit down and really try on the video side. May just get another head unit installed. Kleenbleats: What mileage does yours display? Mine says 19klm/L on the display, which is about 5L/100 klm but i'm skeptical.

Forgot to mention, even the rear seats recline. How cool is that?
-
Picked up the car today. At first it was upsetting letting go of the 33 but now I'm stoked. Lordy, flooring it off the line in CVT mode I could have sworn 0-130kph in around 5 secs! I don't know how to describe it. The engine just bellows and holds and everything disappears behind. No transmission changes to unsettle the car or spoil acceleration, just building of speed. I believe an R33 in typical form would be hard pressed to keep up. If you test drive to turn the VDC (traction control) off in the lower right panel. As with any auot make sure you kick down.

Been away for a while so havn't picked up car yet. It's gonna be ready monday. Can't wait. Been thinking I dind't play around twith the traction control switch yet.... Once again try guys at Northshore Prestige. They'll get your car near price mark. Can confirm that cos mine is there! We dropped in to Edward Lee's and didn't like their high price and hard sell (hay what is it with the put deposit down right NOW? Don't ppl know that it's a sure way to get ppl to walk out? FFS who forks out 30 grand on the spot??) . Didn't even get to test drive. They have a lot of stock though including a V35 4dr without the TV (???). Decide for yourself.

Will, your 35 looks awesome. The black is pimp imo... and nice getting it through j-spec I had a quick test drive last weekend. First impressions. A very comfortable, luxurious car. Had just about every gizmo you could want. Cockpit still has that snug skyline feel. Not cavernous and empty (but da boot, was actually useful ). It was easy to drive. When the throttle was mashed, I was surprised at the engine note. Quite aggresive (different to the inline 6 tho). Raked through to redline in manual mode and it will shift to next gear for you. Was pleased to note that the auto mode didn't feel dull and rubbery like I expected... The steering is lighter than my R33 (245's on front) and quite precise. It didn't feel big and heavy, maybe a tad slower than my current car (comparing a modded R33 GTS25T: FMIC, turbo back exhaust, 12PSI, 12:1 AFR 200rwkW and manual, to a stock auto car), but the speedo told me different. I'd look down and be alarmed to see passing through 90 kph easy. Same exercise in the 33 was a different altogether, noisier and more spectacular, plus a lot more effort. I've been eyeing that one on J-spec(http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=7672) for a while too. But getting mine through Northshore Prestige (paid a bit more, but suited finance arrangements) and the guys are awesome to deal with. The GF then jumped in the driver seat and loved it. I actually like the styling. Short front overhangs, and the lights look neat. Other question is, can you stall the baby up and get a better launch?

Found the thread on performance. http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=155291 "Quoted: Hey car and driver tested a sweet red g35 at 5.2 secs 0-60 mph. They also made a comment that said "Why in the world would you want a lexus is350 ,when you can have the g35" CLASSIC!!!!" Could it be true or slightly exaggerated? http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.ph...;highlight=GT-8 I reckon $30K is about right if you get the chance to test drive and look the car over before buying... GZilla. Can't agree more, the Gialla kit looks just wrong

Try Ben at Northshore prestige. I'm getting mine from there. I also got my R33 from him and it was a good car. The quality of his cars has always been top notch. http://www.northshoreprestige.com.au/ OK, the yanks reckon they have squeezed 5.9 sec 0-60mph. And i read one post quoting an auto magazine that managed to get 5.2! I can't vouch 100% for that. However, they don't have the 8speed tx, so it may not be comparing apples with apple. In any case, I have G-tech and will be conducting my own private experiments with respect to my R33. Should be very intersting! http://g35driver.com/home/ THe real selling point for me was the smoothness of this V6 drivetrain... R33 feels 'rough' in comparison I rang an auto electrician who knows about converting the japan sat nav.. he did say to expect around $3200 to get a fully working converted satnav in the V35 (ouch). He was also trying to fine tune his TV/DVD combo for best reception. I didn't get a price and details for that (he was a bit hard to understand) but woulld expect it to be cheaper than the fully working satnav. Fuel consumption on the brochure was quoted as 9L/100klms. PM me for more info.

Guys, I'm biting the bullet and trading up my GTS25T for a GT-8. This should happen in the next few weeks. Basically, I'm doing a lot of commuting now and am after an easy car to drive with better economy and hopefully some retained fun factor. I know I'll alway love and miss my R33 turbo. But cars get old and things need to change from time to time! Standby for full report then. I'm interested in getting the WALD bodykit for it. Check it out.... T'
-
I would like to know too. I have one (GT-8) coming within the next month and will be moving on from an R33 GTS25T for long distance commuting. Guess that puts me in a position to answer later! (But would like to know right now). I still plan to have a GTR or a R34 sitting alongside it in the garage one day.

Spotted AJD*** White R32 GTST with SAU sticker this morning stalking an SS commo westbound on victoria rd, after anzac bridge. Gave it some berries going up the hill

I hate to plug the New Zelander's but sometimes I really wish NSW had a scheme like this: http://www.police.govt.nz/service/road/roadwatch.html It says: "The Community Roadwatch programme has been designed for use by New Zealand Police to advise the owner of a motor vehicle about the unsafe or risky driving behaviour you have observed and reported where you do not wish the offender to be prosecuted. The Police will regard your report as confidential; in accordance with the provisions of the law as it relates to privacy and disclosure of information. If you wish the incident to be investigated with a view to charges being laid in Court you must lodge a formal complaint with your nearest police station." Driving a skyline for many years in syd, it's rare to not have a drive where you don't encounter an idiot. best of luck!

Were you in the black 32? G'day! Waved you off at Epping boys. Also spotted 4LORIT (I think) on Wattle street Ultimo. Cool plate

Check this out! http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/hatchb...2098434742.html This is becoming so typical these days. Reminds me of an encounter with commo driver (until I hid in a carpark) T'

Fri arvo? Spotted by SW20 again? You must be too stealthy! Not long after that I spotted a 4 skyline convoy (had one black 34GTT) and another trailing 34GTT with P plates going west on victoria rd between powerplay and the gladesville bridge. Someone honked as they pass me but i was stuck behind a Tourak tractor and didn't react fast enough after seeing the first skyline! I pressed my horn late too but it didn't work. AAnyone know where to get a spare horn button? Mine's smashed mine to bits honking someone. T

nothing bad happened. An 'opportunity' presented up after being stuck on Vic rd for ages. Felt so sorry for the city bounders, seeing their miserable faces whizz by.

We dropped in for a looksee at the blue 350GT in artarmon last weekend. Had a sit inside and the friendly delaer allowed us to rev the engine a few times. Silky smooooth! Though, they are asking $59K for that one. Add onroad costs and it reaches 62K, Almost like buying a new 350Z. And I thought $40K for the one i saw in NZ was expensive! Does anyone know how much they are going for elsewhere? eg: from Prestige motorsport or J-Spec? Has anyone got one from there? Afterwards, we went down the road to Mitsubishi and sat in the EVO9, but it looked and like a (very quick) toy in comparison. GF likes the Skyline (of cos!).
-
What/ where were you SW20-GT? I think i remember seeing an MR2 occasionally... crawling uphill east (sig?) ... hope no-one saw what happpened on Gladesville bridge yesterday morning. Damn traffic. moanie: i just rememeber bracing for the bow wake and feeling the air suck from the cabin after your fly-by!

What a memory! Yep, that's right and.. check it out: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...l=rrr033&st=100 It says you a stalker
