  1. Unfortunately it had issues of leaning out up top, may be a result of the timing issue with CAS and Cam i had the other night. They backed off it early and it made 527rwhp
  2. What should it be making?
  3. Dyno day done. Highlight had to be the looks Tony got when putting the maxima on the rollers
  4. Went to a dyno day today but only able to knock out 527rwhp. Timing issues
  5. Issues with my timing I think.. Ah well something to work on. Looks like a good setup in there and there was a strong showing from the SAU members. I felt out of place without a club shirt
  6. This is so true.. But i think i may only have the second one :-( mines unreliable and expensive lol
  7. I need a 2 way
  8. I definitely agree that its a far better option. If i had the money I would make the change. Reliability is always key when making good HP
  9. Personally i would run anything other than a 6boost on a car that makes decent power. They may be on the expensive side. but htey are tried, test & proven. When you have big $$ spent on a build, its work forking out a bit extra on a manifold I think
  10. My knowledge on crank triggers is very poor. The only thing I do know is it aint cheap lol
  11. Yeah after a lot a research and asking around Ive found this is actually pretty common
  12. Joys of cars... Crank Trigger time?
  13. Its aligned now. Im talking about the half moon that is on the front end of the camshaft. Like pull off the CAS and look in the whole where the centre goes in and locks into place. In there.. See google pic below
  14. both half moons werent aligned properly and fouled on each other, however when i turned it over it was the one on the cam that decided to snap not the CAS. wish it was the CAS lol... But yeah as i said a bit earlier there is no noticeable difference when driving the car. So "if" and thats a big "if" its out it can only a a degree or so as you cant hear or feel it.
  15. Its not the cas i broke, its the half moon on the end of the cam that snapped. And good morning Ants... I actually have tomorrow off sdo i may still head out to happy laps see how things go
  16. PM #@cowdy he might have a 25 head coming up for sale
  17. Bit of an update of what happened last night. Some of you might have read my thread in the FI section. Thought I'd post it in here too for anyone still following this build thread. "So, my afternoon and night got interesting yesterday. Was going to head out the the harry's meet cause i was bored as fark... Decided to put the front timing cover back on to make it look a bit better. Marked up the CAS and everything as normal, took it off then put it all back on as normal. Cranked it over and heard a crunch so shut it down and took it all apart again. After a bit of probing and prodding, I found that the "half moon" nubs in the CAS and on the end of the cam must not have been lined up perfect and it snapped the one off the end of the cam.... Not an ideal situation. After some head pondering between a mate and I we came to a resolution. We ended up being able to line up where the half moons would be and get the CAS back on in that spot then line up the original markings we made. Put it all back together and started it up and it cranked over fine and sounded like normal. We free revved it a bit and all seemed good, next was time to take it for a drive and see what it was like under load. We started with normal driving and occasionally getting into boost, all seemed fine. We gradually started giving it more and more throttle and everything was good. Finally we did one last pull, full noise through all 5 gears and it was exactly the same as normal. Even still I may look into a replacement cam just to be safe.."

  19. Thats far from ideal. I can see the two figures being very very different
  20. Too many one wheel bandits? Pop in to Japan Autos in Clontaff they surely have something to help you out
  21. Hey Guys, Chasing some help here if possible for those more knowledgeable than me. I puled of the CAS unit on my 25/30 motor to fit the front cover back on. I marked on the head and the CAS to make sure i mounted it back in the same position. I decided to turn it over and heard something break so shut it down. Pulled it all apart and it seems the "Half Moon" nub on the end of the cam where the CAS sits broke off. My question is, is it possible to line the half moon on the CAS with where it sits on the cam and line the markings on the outside of the CAS & head and it all be fine? As far as im aware its the teeth on the CAS that keep it in place and rotating and the half moons are just there to assist sitting it in there. Once back together i turned it over and it idled fine. Took it for a drive and all seems exactly the same, nothing seems to have changed. Whats everyones thoughts on this? In my cam f**ked or should it be ok. Any assistance would be great.
  22. Oil cooler kit has made mine even easier.. Front left infront of Plenum & attached to the fan shroud lol
  23. Dont wreck my funny with your logic Mike!
