  1. Hi all, I'm looking to buy a R34 GTR in the near future and have started browsing locally and abroad to get an idea of what's out there (haven't kicked any tyres yet). I know my way around bodywork/paint and I know on these cars the front/rear bumpers, skirts and taillights are a slightly different colour shade to the body, obviously because the base material is plastic compared to steel. However I've also noticed that a lot of R34 GTRs have slightly different shade doors when compared to the fenders/shell/quarters. I figured it could be an optical illusion due to the angle of light or shape of the panels but it seems too common on a lot of cars I've seen. What's the go - am I seeing things that aren't there or is there a reason for this? Were the panels/doors painted off the car when built? Also to confirm, the bonnets on all R34 GTRs are alluminum except for the V-Spec II being carbon fibre, right? Are any other panels (fenders/doors) ally too? Just want to be aware of what the go is as I want to get a car with a clean original body! Thanks!
  2. I'm in the same boat at the moment. Trying to sell my R33 (which I believe is your old one, Col!) and I'm not having too many enquiries. Even the time wasters are eerily quiet. The country is entering a recession but from talking to a few business owners here on the Gold Coast it's extra bad off here already..... What do you guys reackon, have I priced her correctly/cheaply and need to play the waiting game, or am I dreamin' with the price??? (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/346233-1996-r33-gts-t-series-2-gold-coast-qld/)
  3. Weekend bump!!! Price has dropped a grand and is now $14,900 ono.
  4. She needs to go guys... someone come make an offer! $15,900 or best offer. Want a quick sale hence the low price for what it is.
  5. BUMP Big price drop...now only $15,900, open to offers. You could not buy an R33 and make it anything like this without spending some serious $$s!!! Also have just put another 6 months rego on and new tyres.
  6. Regretfully for sale is my '96 R33 GTS-T. It has been upgraded far beyond factory spec to produce a reliable 520hp (dyno'd at 427rwhp @ 19psi) with greatly improved brakes and suspension. In addition, being a series 2 it has the newer styling, dual airbags, newer interior as well as many other improvements from factory. Body/paint is in great nick apart from a couple of minor detractions. Interior is practically like new. The car's appearance is mostly stock apart from wheels and and a couple of extra guages. It's a real head turner. It's had probably $60k+ spent on it in the last few years. Engine was rebuilt around the 100k mark and has performed 10k faultless kilometres since. Always run on BP Ultimate 98 and serviced religiously. New clutch and fuel pump only a couple of thousand k's ago. Modifications include: ENGINE Engine rebuilt (fully blue-printed, run-in and tuned) Balanced crank Pressure tested block Wiseco forged pistons Eagle rods ARP rod bolts ARP head studs Big end oil mod (for better big end lubrication) JHH ported head JHH valve springs Port matched head to manifolds 1.2mm 3-layer cometic headgasket Gready Style plenum 80mm billet throttle body Garett 35/40 with .82 rear housing 42mm External wastegate (plumbed back into the exhaust so it's legal) Stainless steel high mount exhaust manifold (modified for better wastegate flow) Tomei Poncams 256/256 8.8mm lift Adjustable exhaust cam gear OS Giken twin plate clutch (fully rebuilt - very heavy duty but comparatively light pedal) Redline gear box oil Stealth plumb back blow off valve (legal) Custom intercooler piping 600x300x76mm front mount intercooler Oil cooler (mounted behing front bar) Speedflow fittings Braided lines 550cc Nismo Injectors Splitfire coil packs (brand new) N1 OIL PUMP Genuine Nissan water pump New idler bearing BLITZ SBC ID iii D SPEC Boost Controler Power FC & hand controller Fuel pressure regulator Bosch 040 fuel pump (brand new) Gates Pro Series timing belt Custom 3" turbo back exhaust in stainless steel 3" high flow cat Z32 air flow meter K&N pod filter (mounted in front guard for cold air, bolted in for legality) Full S2 M-Spec body kit with rear pods still intact Iridium spark plugs Blitz oil catch can Gearbox has OS 4th and 5th gear set, fitted by Diff Laping at Kedron RDA slotted rotors all round Piston kits on all calipers Paduate race pads all round Dot 5 race fluids in the brake system Reconditioned master cylinder with bored out piston for greater response and feeling Engine built and tuned at 101 motorcafe, Springwood. I've had her as a very fun every-other-day driver for over a year and I'm only selling as I have a new daily driver and have a project car too. Priorities have changed. I have just put 6 months rego on and I am selling with QLD roadworthy and registration so it's ready to turn the key and drive. Will sell for less without RWC/rego. Also included are a few spares including full set of factory rims (with tyres). Please only call if you've got cash ready or you can definately get finance. No time wasters or test pilots. Private numbers will be ignored. Happy to send more pictures for anyone interstate. Price is $19,500 and is negotiable. QLD rego until April 2011. I am located on the Gold Coast, QLD. Call Byron on 0409 49 3334 (no private numbers), email [email protected], PM or reply here and I'll be happy to answer any questions!
  7. Hi all, I've got an R33 GTST with almost-dead badly slipping clutch (OS Giken twin plate). Car makes ~520hp at flywheel and it's my daily driver so I don't want an extra heavy clutch - the OS Giken feels just right. I want something along the same lines. What are my options for this power level & drivability? What prices / availability / quality? Who do I buy from? I'm on the Gold Coast if that makes a difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers heycharger
  8. Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately I don't know anyone... For the record I think it's a Power FC. Any other ideas? Could it be a vacuum leak somewhere...?
  9. Hi all, I recently picked up a pretty worked R33 s2. Always been into Valiants/Chargers so this is a little different. The car has been great but in the last 250km's or so it's developed a problem that seems to occur the more I drive it. At random times when driving, whether running low or high boost, whether the car has been running 5 minutes or an hour, the throttle simply dies. It feels like I've taken my foot off the accelerator pedal; it just looses throttle. Then 1~3 seconds later it kicks back in. Then dies again. etc. It mainly happens driving around town (low RPM), but has occurred on the highway too. Additionally a couple of times when I've started the car up it hasn't idled as high as it usually does and even after warming up for a few minutes it conks out when reversing out. I don't thrash the car (much...) and have only had it happen when doing normal driving, IIRC. I checked the Power FC hand controller and when this occurs the InjDuty momentarily hits 0% (or otherwise decreases significantly) and IgnTiming drops significantly too (i.e. ~50% down?). The other stats on the 8-way readout appear normal. The throttle 'dropouts' only occur for a split second or couple of seconds then it's fine, then a couple/few seconds later happens again. Usually the problem disappears a minute or two later but it happened yesterday intermittently for about 20 minutes and today seems to be hanging around and showing it's head every 10 minutes for a minute. When the problem happens, there's sometimes (but not always?) a clicking at top of engine; unsure if related (only noticed that this morning once when I had the bonnet up, then it went away). BTW car was recently tuned and runs very hard 95% of the time without ANY problems whatsoever, so I guess it can't be the tune. Knock is still very low (usually 1~10; hasn't changed since this problem started) and I'm strictly running BP Ultimate 98. EFI/turbo's are new to me and I feel a little lost...what am I dealing with here? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. heycharger
