Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Aggroman replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ive currently got Potenza RE050A 222/40/R18 all round on my 34. Tread is starting to get low, bout 4mm on rears and 6mm on fronts. I love these tyres and want to continue to use them so my question is. Do bridgestone stock these in Aus or do we have to import them like some ppl do for certain tyres.. Tried searching here and on the net, about as useful as pulling teeth.. If i do have to get a set imported is it even legal and can u point me in the right direction.. Cheers Aggroman -
Steering Wheel Lockup
Aggroman replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Engine didnt hesitate at all. I assume if it is this power steering hammer that there is no way to get around it? Guess its no real drama as there isnt any place that it would happen besides similar stetches of road.. I just wont do something like that if the roads are similar, problem solved yeah? -

not genuine of course.. It could be a V-spec both look very similar. Will list as a v-spec replica for safety's sake. -

Steering Wheel Lockup
Aggroman replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I put it down to me knowing the roads and him not knowing how to drive through there. Ok thanks for the advice ill go abouts checking that when i get it back friday arvo? But if it was extending too far and becoming straight as u say wouldnt it lock turning all the time minorly? -
Hey all Just got a question i want to ask to make sure i dont have a problem Anyways Yesterday arvo i was chasing some midlife crisis leb in a porshe boxter through the glenmore parkway (if anyone knows glenmore its just long snaking roads, single lane) My car used to be fine if i gave it a bit going through there, but yesterday when following mr porshe when i took a few tightish corners at about 70 the steering wheel sort of seized up for a second or two then released and i was able to turn further, almost sent me into the gutter. I wasnt understeering/sliding front wheels or braking or even accelerating. I have checked my power steering fluid and its full still so i wasnt out of fluids, Hasnt happened on any other car. My only other experience with the same sort of thing happening is if i throw it from side to side like a race car warming up his wheels it would seem to do it for a fraction of a second when changing direction, Other then that the car drives fine Anyone ever heard of something like this or know if there is infact anything wrong. p.s. I know i shouldnt of chased mr porshe if he wanted to show off but i did it for the skyline pride just kidding it was dumb but it was good fun watching his face when his expensive car got caught by an N/A Skyline my brother egging me on didnt help i guess.

Why not meet away from the crap house that is panthers and go somewhere more secluded and less likely for cop trouble.. For instance, further down mulgoa road either direction is a bunnings with a big car park. Jamison park, just up the round 'a' bout from panthers. If it wasnt a thursday night could even do it on a certain lvl of the plaza carpark away from the cinemas, just dont be hectic habbib and get securitys attention. Just my two cents. plus i cant get into aqua golf with my front bar from memory

Most Bizzare Locknut Ever
Aggroman replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
See i thought that at first too, but i would have to push it down and try to undo a wheelnut on a insane angle with a screwdriver and hammer and probably just dent the crap outta it.. I think im going to have to either sucker up the money and hope the new key fits and it is indeed the same thing as above or get it drilled out (if thats even possible?) Or sell the car, why have a car that only can use one set of tyres? Going to take it to a wheel shop/s on tuesday see what they think. That is unless some wonderfull person has a key that they are willing to let me try or know what to do. -
Most Bizzare Locknut Ever
Aggroman replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
so i finally got my car back, sorry for the long delay, here are some closeups of the locknut. two averageish pics. they just wouldnt come up good. got one decent one for ya out of 3. Looks alot like the ones posted above, the Kyo-Ei Dency 2000 Lock Nut. how can i get these off without spending like over 100 to get my damn wheels off? Any and all help would be Very appreciated as i have new rotors and calipers waiting to go on but cant with these friggin things. I read up that i cant just bash a smaller socket ontop, nor can i just use a regular magnent. Maybe i should take it back to where i got the car from and get them to pay for it. I think i might go rip apart my entire boot to see if its not hidden under the jack or something. -
Was good fun today guys.. Kept a decently tight knit group. Got lots of photos and videos... Looking at about 10gigs of video to resize so its gonna be many hours till i get that stuff on youtube.. Post up photos later tonight. Hope you all liked my insane exhaust making ears bleed through the park haha.. N/A POWER!! p.s. need to go harder through the corners, was too easy for me started to get bored.

Most Bizzare Locknut Ever
Aggroman replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
still waiting for the car to come back. will post asap. it probably wont make much difference it just looks like a perfectly rounded nut -
Hey everyone.. I just recently bought a bigger brake upgrade for my 34 GT. Car is currently at workshop gettin fixed up so i cant take a closeup but ill try to explain it best i can. Anyway i was looking at my nuts to take the wheel off etc and i have the most bizzare locknut ever.. Its almost like a cap sitting ontop of something ( the cap is sort of like a top hat, the top is flat and then on the lower edge It has a small groove).. I can push the whole cap in and pull it out by about 2mm and turn it no problem but nothing happens.. Tried pulling it off. got them needle nose pliers on good but it wont move... Was thinking of trying to get a socket to go over the top but there isnt enough clearance around the edge of the cap thing and the wheel to slot a socket in. So it has to do with this groove but for the life of me cant figure it out.. Ill post a pic of my wheel and the brand/model if anyone can find anything (ill take a closeup when i get the car bak in a few days hopefully. Voltec Inter Milano Hyper MS http://www.milano-wheels.com/products/voltec/v_hms.html (cant ask them about it cause its mostly in jap)

Hey man did you happen to notice what brand exhaust it was? Did it have a silencer put in? If you know what brand it is you might be able to get a silencer from the company, my exhaust a kakimoto racing one has a silencer available. if not you can always go to a few exhasut shops, they can probably set you up with one.. Thats if you didnt want to go through the new exhaust hassle My exhaust without the silencer is insanely loud, the ppl at woolongong hated me on the cruise yesterday p.s. N/A skylines are always louder, turbos seem to quiet them down a bit
