  1. Hey Contempt, Just go for it mate, you will never regret it and yes $75K - 80k is about right for a totally standard GTR. Have a look on the J-Spec website for what's going thru at the moment. That's www.j-spec.com.au Cheers Muz
  2. NIZR34GTT, Nah, I have terrified all the local falcadore drivers and they won't come out and play with me now. I have a connection to the forum at my worksite which is highly mobile. Starved for knowledge about these cars up here so this is a good way to find out all about them. Cheers Muz
  3. Thanks 95SKY. The car is in top condition except for a few small issues but I guess that is the joy of sports car ownership. Anybody like to taks a guess why the TCS (traction control) isn't functioning? Or why the trip metres dont appear? Cheers Muz
  4. Funny That, the Forum clock is now the correct time and my post appears before the original. Cheers
  5. Welcome to the crew Cam. I have only recently joined this merry band of men and women myself and they really are a super friendly bunch. Unfortunately I live in the deep north and we don't have many of these great cars up this way but I am sure you will really enjoy the Skyline scene in the South East. Ya wont stop grinning. Muz
  6. Hey Nismokid, The moneys' in your account, any idea when I can expect my mats? I really would like to hear from you. You don't seem to answer your PM ....... Is there a problem?
  7. Thanks Rod, I didn't end up PM ing you as it bounced back and I have sent Chris a PM to discuss the stall problems. Thanks again Cheers Muz
  8. G'day NIZR34GTT, The BOV is a Turbosmart Plumb Back arrangement. Being a newbie to the Skyline scene (Truly Great Cars) and a first timer on turbo cars, this is all a very new experience for me. I'm loving it so far. I have always been a car nut and this car has really suprised me. My wife has a BA Falcon (a nice Aussie car) but it's not a patch on a chassis that is 4-5 years older. Just shows how far behind we really are in terms of vehicle dynamics. I'm starting to have a bit of a play around to see what makes it purr. Took the plastic cover off the engine today after work and found a small black hose not connected to where it should be. Reconnected that but doesn't seem to have made any difference. Like I said in an earlier post, these imported pre-owned cars are like opening boxes of presents ....... full of great suprises. I have a few small issues that I'm thinking about going back to Advance about but they really are only small issues so will give it some thought. Other than no headlights on one side, the two trip meters don't appear to function. This car has a full set of Nismo gauges (absolutely brilliant at night) so I'm wondering when the instruments were changed whether they were not connected properly or something. The stalling issue is the biggest worry as it has the potential to be something that could very well cause an accident. If your son can give any guidance on that, I would be extremely appreciative. I'm considering swapping out the Microtech computer and fitting an Apexi Power FC but will wait and see if I acn get this stalling problem fixed first before I start down the "throw buckets of money at it" path. Cheers for now Muz
  9. PM'd ya NIZR34GTT
  10. Thanks 2fardown, I believe that I have a plumbed back BOV but I have a sneeaky suspicion that it is not working the way it should. Could be part of the reason though. Definitely running rich. Thanks again Cheers Muz
  11. Thanks for the heads up on the stall problem. Yes I dealt with Barry and Colleen and they were absolutely great. Not often you can say that about car sales people but it's true. Did all my deal by email except for a very quick test drive between flights. If I can just cure this stalling problem then I will be totally content. I'll PM CYA34. Stay in touch. Cheers Muz
  12. NizR34GTT, Yes I did. Is there something I should know? Being a little ole country boy we're pretty trusting up this way. I think I got a good deal minus the few little things already mentioned. Silver Snails huh! I've had my share of red cars. Something about them, at least the ones I owned. People just kept running into them. At least with black, they can now actually claim not to have seen me. Does your R34 suffer from this stalling problem? If so what mods do you have as I'm looking for a commonality with mods to point in the direction of a solution. Cheers Muz
  13. Hi Shy33, I am not quite sure who did the actual work but I got excellent service at BatteryPro (over near the Cemetary). The owner has a Z32 TT and they were certainly great people to deal with. CYA34, Does your old man have a red one? I think he and I have touched base a couple of times. Two R34's in one family, how utterly greedy is that? Good luck to both of you. Tell me more about the HID lights as I noticed the sparky only inserted a halogen bulb. Cheers Muz
  14. Do we really care as most of the southern state'rs love our climate, rum, women and as a bonus we still get to drive Skylines.
  15. Contrary to what you Mexicans may think, Qld operates on exactly the same time as the rest of the East coast (most of the time) and yes the forum clock is is out of whack. Cheers
  16. Thanks Guys for all the words of encouragement. There I was motoring sedately along just south of Miriamvale observing the speed limit, darkness coming on, thinking to myself now would be a good time to see what all the fuss is about with these Zenon headlamps ........ flick the switch ......... hmmmmm not very impressed ..... reckon my Honda Accord lights are just as good ....... mental note ...... adjust headlamps when I make the next pitstop. Drive into the ever friendly fuel merchant in Rocky sometime later ... refuel the near empty tank .... go to pay and ever kind attendant says did I know that only the left hand headlamps are working. Probably explains why they did'nt seem so bright. Anyways decide to leave the problem until light of day. Check into a motel and get a great nights sleep ..... up early and gone (yes I paid the bill the night before) ...... next stop Mackay .... Hmmmmm ...... Marlborough stretch ....... achieve Warp 5 and still accelerating but run out of seeable space. Arrive Mackay, find a friendly auto sparky (he just happened to another Nissan nut - Z32 TT) and he allocates me his best man and the bright young lad looks at me and says "Whats the problem?" I explain the problem - no lights this side and he says "Yes you need to have bulbs to make them work". Oh duh. What price a roadworthy certificate? Cheers
  17. In HPI or other motor mags there is an advertisement for a company that does this. Check them out. Cheers
  18. Thanks CYA34, I am sure that Nissan designed these things just to scare the bejesus out of Commodore and Falcon owners. It's amazing isn't it that every bloody Falcadore owner wants to have a go at you. I'm tempted but it gives me more satisfaction to let them scream off into the disatance. Owning a spaceship ........ yes a very very fast one! Now if I can just find out why the front speakers don't work .......... Hmmmmm This is where they should be ............. aaaahhh no speakers = no sound. Another one of those little joys. Cheers
  19. Speaking of cool things, bumped a switch on the drivers side arm rest and didn't notice that the mirrors automatically folded in and then went to use them and thought some b#@%$^d had knocked em off ........... decided I should read the manual ....... so that's what that switch does.
  20. Thanks 46n2 It seems that it is the start of an interesting relationship. Now if only I can cure the Black Beast of the dreaded Skyline Stall problem (very embarrassing at lights etc). I have read the reports on this forum and aslo on the other one. Nothing conclusive as yet. Cheers Muz
  21. Nizmokid Will they fit R34's if so I'll take a set of front ones please. PM me with payment details and I'll give you delivery details. Cheers Muz
  22. What is it with our constabularly and Skylines? Is it a jealousy factor, tall poppy syndrome, or are we the poor humble Skyline owner the victim of some subsversive plot against all that is right in the world. ......... Sorry about that guys ....... got a little of track there but it really does seem that our choice of transportation does seem to attract unwanted attention. Í wonder if they pick on Lambo drivers as much?
  23. Holy Jesus, these wires under the seat lead to a mass of multi-coloured spaghetti under the dash. hmmmmm it's very dark under here, time to get a lamp and the multimeter. See you all in a few days. Cheers
  24. I have just realized that owning an imported pre-owned car is like owning a gift box. You just never know what exactly it is that you are going to get. Found a set of wires under the underlay in the boot ...... hmmmm wonder where they lead to? Ahhhh I see, they go to these wires under the passenger seat, now if only I can work out where they go to?
  25. As soon as I get the camera organised and back from the stereo workshop.
