Took delivery of my ER34 GTT from Brisbane on Tuesday and drove it back to Cairns being really carefull and not wanting to attract any attention. Yes I know that is very difficult to do in a Skyline but I succeeded until midway between Mackay and Bowen when S/Const. Dave decided that his speed reporting device and my speedo did not agree. Having just overtaken a "B" double (speed limited to 100K) and a MaCafferty's coach travelling nose to tail at 100K? my overtaking speed went past the legislated amount by a considerable margin. Unfortunately (for me) S/Const Dave didn't think that 120 kph was warranted and no amount of grovelling would sway him. A $250.00 contribution to the State Revenue coffers and away I went. Does this now make me a true Skyline owner? Cheers Muz

try www.wotif.com or www.lastminute.com for accomodation. Enjoy the "Battle". I went last year and there were some outstanding cars on show. Cheers

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?
Muz replied to two40's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Mate, I think you're having a lend of us. If you're 17 going on 18 and never had insurance before (highly likely) you definitely won't have a NCB. And my guess here is that you definitely will be paying the highest rate of insurance possible. Good luck! -
Good thing about being in a little city. For awhile at least I will own the only R34 GTT in town.

It's been a while since we visited this subject ........ so do we have any further news ???? Is there anything I can do to help.??? I wouldn't mind starting a chapter up in this neck of the woods. Cheers

Hi fellas, I'm a Cairns resident and will be back in town on Thursday with my latest acquisition. Metallic black R34 GTT (plated 34-GTT). It has some mods but nothing too over the top. I think I'm going to have to do the Rex Range Rd up through Julatten and Mount Molloy as soon as I can. There are a few Skylines around. The boys at Autobarn in Cairns tell me that there is an R34 GTR in town as well but the guy only wheels it out on weekends. Cheers

Yep found the same problem when I wanted to use my Honda as a trade. So I ended up selling it privately. No great dramas though. Cheers

Welcome to SAU. I have only recently rejoined the ranks of Skyline owners myself having just purchased an R34 GTT. I paid $35500 (asking price $39990) for a lightly modded specimen. For that price I got an immaculate metallic black R34 kitted with a full Nismo body kit, full set of Nismo gauges, Nismo exhaust from the dump pipe back, HKS FMIC, Turbosmart plumb back BOV and numerous other little things to sweeten the deal. As B-man says, use the Prestige site as a guide and then start negotiating. Having a trade makes things that little bit trickier but not impossible. Depending on the mods to the R34 you should be able to drive a fairly good deal. Get a mate to see how low they will go for a cash deal and then work from there. Cheers

$200.00 from me if it has the harness and is a type 1. How do you want the money (COD is good for both of us, right) Let me know. -
Only what they're worth GTB055. Do you have some that you want to get rid of, how old, what size, any damage, any rubber. Let me know the details. Cheers

I have just been quoted $1480 for a Power FC + Hand Controller for an R-34 GTT including shipping and taxes delivered to my door from Kenji at Hikari Performance. Sounds like a good deal to me. What say you guys?

Try Barry at Advaned Auto Imports at Sandgate Rd Breakky Creek.

Pearman, I just signed up with Shannons for $803.65 which was the very best I could get. No mods as yet but they tell me if I mod it with an exhaust system and FMIC it jump to over $1000.00 so I would really like to know who these guys are talking to at Suncorp so I can get in on the action.

Does anyone have an idea about where these can be purchased. I'm referring to the piece of metal or plastic that sits on the door sill and is supposed to stop you from knocking your paint work around. I have seen some for Hondas that actually illuminate when you open the door. Obviously wired to the courtesy lights. Any ideas?

See if Ethan 32 still has his for sale. That one certainly sounded/read like a good buy.

No NIZR34GTT said he was 56, I didn't say how old I was but put it this way, I won't see 49 again. And no I don't feel old at all. My daughters tell me that 50 is not old ....... if you're a tree.

Hi rs73, Not quite sure how they do it but check this site out as it maqy give you some idea. www.autron.com.au Yes the AP500 can be installed on a manual and as for installation on a Momo, you had better check with an installer as I am not qualified to give that sort of advice. Cheers

I am often reminded of a quote that my Flying Instructor sometimes quoted, " There are Old pilots and there are Bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots", when the not so old generations rabbit on about how fast they are. Sure do agree that they are a mighty car. I have owned a plethora of Datsun - Nissan vehicles ranging from the venerable P510 (1600), P810 (180B SSS limited import), Pulsar (horrible little car) 240K Skyline, Bluebird TRX (what a disappointment that car was), a Maxima and an SP311 (Sports 2000). Best of that lot was the SSS. But now I have the GTT what can I say? Is that yours in the avatar? Cheers Muz

I would suggest back where you brought it from would be a good place to start.

Ok, no problems I was just curious. My curiosity has been solved.

Thanks Duncan and I also left"it " out of a sentence as well. However I do think you are correct but never the less there are some exceptionally good ideas put forward. Cheers

I'm not entirely sure if this post is on the correct forum but I am just curious as to why a certain percentage of people who place posts on this site appear to have great difficulty in spelling words correctly. Is it a culture thing or is just laziness. Like I said, just curious that's all. Cheers And I did'nt even mention grammar.

Hello doglet, I actually priced up a setup (A Commander AP500) installed for $750. This unit utilizes an infra-red sensor and pickup. It is available either as the stalk mount or dash mount or steering wheel mount. The steering wheel mount can be mounted on the left, right or bottom side of the centre of the wheel. Has three buttons and looks like a good unit. It is an electric one (doesn't work of vacuum) so is a good unit for turbo cars. But I want to know if anyone has installed any on Skylines before I go ahead and spend the money. Some of the roads up this way are bloody boring to drive on so CC just makes it that little bit more enjoyable. Come on guys ...... surely someone has done this.
