How Well Will These Arms Hold Up?
r31slpr replied to sonicz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Justjap have hardrace arms which have rubber bushes, not sure on the durability though (haven't used them myself). http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=20359&cat=396&page=2 -
Looks pretty good, simple but effective. What wheel did you use? What about using a hard skateboard wheel? Or something from a trolley jack? They are usually metal, but occasionally you can find them with metal inner and a plastic/pu coating

Foam rollers are brilliant, you won't regret that. In what way are you not confident with the technique? This ^
-
This is true. I say that because a lot of people just look at the numbers, which may go up if they're building muscle and it freaks them out. If that's the case then a look in the mirror will confirm the direction they're headed in. How did the visit to ptc go?
-
So no squatting for a couple days till my hip loosens up but on the plus side, I got the go ahead to start bro pressing. I'll fail with just the bar no doubt hahaha 10/08/2013 Dead: 1x5@110 Row: [email protected] 1x5@60

Don't worry about what the scales say, just look in the mirror
-
I have a foam roller, use it every day, best investment I've made haha
-
Thanks for that, some good stuff there
-
Yep exactly what I'm already doing, was hoping someone would have some super magic miracle snake oil that would fix it haha Fair enough haha the one I go to at the moment is surprisingly cheap, but I still avoid it if i can
-
Anybody got any tips on tight hip flexors, I will go see the physio in a few days but I'm pretty sure he'll tell me to keep doing what I'm doing
-
Gym last night, going at 8.30 sucks but its the only time its not completely packed with bros (somebody still hung their snap back on the bar while I was squatting though ) 06/08/2013 Squat: 3x5@50 Mp: 3x5@30 (nope weight didn't go down I just wrote it wrong in the first post) Row: 3x5@55 Form was terrible on the last couple squats, think figured out why though and also why I am pushing with the middle of my foot more than the rear. Hip flexor is tight on the dodgy leg again, throwing my balance out. Will stretch and work on it to see if it changes, if not I'll head down to ptc. Will probably go there regardless
-
Am planning on going to ptc once my other issues are fixed, like I said I only noticed it on the one session and I was screwed from work. I'll see what happens tomorrow, I thought I'd ask here to see if there might be something completely obvious I was missing. (don't take that as me rejecting your advise, i know its worth its weight)
-
Tried leaning back, nearly fell haha bar is as low as my shoulder allows me. Feet are just wider than shoulder width and toes pointed slightly out I wear flat sole shoes, runners are too unstable. I'll drop the weight and concentrate more next time, I push through my heels fine with just body weight. I was tired last time I squatted and thats the only time I've noticed it so far, might have been a fatigue thing. Will see how I go tomorrow I guess
-
Quick question, I feel like I'm pushing through the middle to front of feet when squatting, how can I move it back towards my heels more?
-
Alrighty seems I can't edit that post? It's just a ausdel s1/2, I can barely remember at the moment as I've only driven it a grand total of 2kms in the last 12 months Got my tax back the other day so ordering coilovers, diff parts, braided lines, rotors and pads soon. There's a noob section? I don't have any recent pics, might be able to find some from when I got it though. On topic, no gym today just stretching and rolling, rehab stuff tomorrow.

Hmm seems the enter button on my phone doesn't do anything, will edit that post when I'm on the computer to make it readable

Yep definitely true rev, have noticed the slacker I've gotten over the last few years the more easily I've gotten injured. Missed a few days, legs were sore and work schedule has been really erratic. Managed to get a session in tonight though. Squat: 3x5@45 Dead: 1x5@100 Row: 3x5@50 Had more in me but taking it easy till I'm used to the load
-
Thanks, its loosely based on starting strength, which I chose because its fairly lower body orientated. Ive modified it to suit my needs, its probably not ideal but I'll see how it goes for a while
-
Cheers, will be interesting to see what happens. You seem to have some good numbers happening so far, grats

How's it going guys, my name's Shaun. I've been hanging around this section for a while and figure i should start a thread to keep me motivated. Not expecting anybody to read this, but I'm on here so often it will be forced to update it and make progress haha The Back Story: Always been overweight but semi active with no major injuries, moved to perth a few years ago and got lazy and got hurt. Still not sure what happened but I managed to chip a piece of bone off the back of my patella and it was floating around in my knee for a while, saw a physio who thought it was a muscular problem. After going back a few times he sent me for a ct scan which confirmed what i had originally thought. Waited nearly a year for surgery, they cleaned up some cartilage while they were in there, but when i woke up the surgeon said they couldn't find anything but may have come out in suction. It didn't. Got an mri bone was still in there waited nearly a year to the day for another surgery, finally got the bone out. In between all this I screwed my shoulder, roofing and stormy weather don't mix well. Had an epiphany that strong people don't get injured as easily? Might not be true but makes sense to me. tl;dr Got hurt didn't like it, strong people are harder to injure. Have been going to the gym for a while, mostly doing rehab stuff, will now move onto some strength stuff. I wont bother adding the bar weight because i don't know what it is. Basic 3x5 program i guess Im not as completely ocd as some of the people on here and don't remember my warm up numbers so i'll just put up working sets Stats: Age:23 Height:188cm Weight:circa 100kg 30/07/2013 Sets-Reps-Kg Squat: 4x5@40 (did 4 sets because no warm up, was on the rower for ages waiting for the rack to free up. Row: 3x5@40 MP: 3x5@35

Forgot about this, do you still have the plug for the original head unit? The white/green in the top right corner is the constant i used and the blue/black below it is the ignition 12v. Here is the plug i was talking about in your other thread.

If you haven't figured this out by wednesday i should be able to help you out.

Calibrating Temp Gauge To Sensor With Resistors?
r31slpr replied to Dan_J's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
So you have the sensor that it came with? What brand gauge is it? Depends on the application, i was under the impression that most auto water temp sensors were rtd's, which in that case should ideally be linear. I may be wrong though. Dan_J say's it came with a probe which could be either. Not worth binning it yet, shouldn't be too hard to find the right sensor -
Calibrating Temp Gauge To Sensor With Resistors?
r31slpr replied to Dan_J's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
That's because wiring resistors in parallel reduces resistance. How did you figure out which resistors to use so far? I'm assuming single wire sensor? Only thing i can think if at the moment is hook up a pot and some power to the gauge and see what resistance gets you from min to max. What sensor are you using at the moment? If its pretty close find the data sheet and find the resistance curve, that should give you an idea of which pot to use. Once you figure out an appropriate resistance range, you should be able to find another sensor with the right curve. What gauge is it? Any chance you can get another sensor from the manufacturer? -
I don't really understand that question, yes you can unplug it, if you mean will it affect anything, then no it wont. You don't have to cut into the harness, most auto stores will have a narva 8 pin connector that will fit it, so you can use the standard power and grounds. Since your only doing the front speakers from the head unit you can also unpin the standard speaker wires and put your new ones in using the pins that came with the connector( there should be a male and female connector in the same pack). It shall look nice and standardish. I cant remember which wires are which off the top of my head and my car is about 500kms away so I can't check. But i deduce from your picture that perhaps the two pins on the far right top and bottom are grounds and the one on the top left is a power source of some sort, i'll guess constant because it appears to have a fuse in it. You should invest in a multimeter (if you don't have one already), a gregorys manual and check out r31skylineclub.com
