  1. My experience with the standard brakes was fairly dismal to say the least. Car is a 32 GTR, running standard brakes, with air deflectors and 180awkw. The standard rotors just got to hot (only ever did four laps then a cool down) and continually managed to destroy a set of front pads every track day. (they were QFM race pads not sure what type). They are way understized for the weight and speed the car is capable of. So after much debate (the car is purely a dedicated track car, only driven on the roads to and from events) the decision was made to grab some 6spot ap racing calipers and 365mm rotors. Unfortunately i have not yet driven the car on these yet as it has been in the shop being treated to a few nice engine upgrades hoping to pull out 300awkw, so will let you know how it goes. But please dont skimp on the breaks, they with suspension and tyres are the most important parts to a car. Spend the money if you can, and im sure you will never regreat it especially with the power you are aiming for! good luck!
  2. just wanted to add are the garrett 2560 -5's the same as the 2860 -5's been reading and haven come to the conclusion although from what people have said they are.....
  3. Hi, In the process of building a 32 GTR track car. The car will be putting out around the 330 rwkw The first port of call are the brakes, as at the moment they are utterly useless, going on the fronts are some 6 pot AP racing 365mm fronts, while keeping the rears standard. The question i have is can the original front brakes be put on the rear. The reason i ask is that i have been advised to maybe upgrade the rears at the same time with 4 pot 330mm rotors. Would n putting the fronts on the rear work "just as well" and not upset the balance too much??? or is this not possible with the design of the car. Thanks in advance Josh
  4. Hi everyone, Building up a 32 gtr track car at the moment. Have a question regarding turbos currently it has the original ceramic turbos, but upgrading to either the HKS 2530 or the Garrett 2860, 2560 -5's The question i have is regarding the fitment of the turbos i know the 2530's come as a complete kit with all the bits and pieces and the Garretts are simply just the turbo. in that case can the original turbos be removed and the garretts be placed in without replacing all the bots and lines. Or do they have to be replaced a.k.a with the 2530's. THe reason i ask is that the 2530's are roughly around the 3500 dollars (full kit) while garretts can be picked up for around $2400 (turbos only). Advice woudl be greatly appreciated, espceially by people who have completed this conversion (know there are lots of you) Thanks again Josh
  5. Hi all I've recently purchased a '93 R32 GTR for track work.I want to upgrade the standard front brakes to something that will cope with constant track work. The G4 kit gets lots of mention in this forum but most of the info is now over 12 months old.I'd be very interested in knowing how these have performed for those that have fitted them.I'm a bit sceptical about the long term effect due to the fact that they are made of aluminium. All high end cars like Porsche ,Audi ,BMW and Mercedes all use steel. As do Brembo, AP,Alcon etc. If not the G4,what can you recomend.....Price is important but not as much as good consistent braking.I 'm told that the brembo's are the best but I'm not sure if my budget can stretch that far. Are R32 rotors compatible with R33/34's? Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated !! Josh
