  1. thanks for all your suggestions, i will let you know how we get on.
  2. oh, so now, i unplug all the cables into that box under parcel shelf, plug them back in, start the car, and without even moving the car awd light comes on dash, go and check the error code and its 18 now.
  3. when the light comes on on the dash (AWD) the box in the rear parcel shelf flashes a sequence, which gives the error code. oh, a major thing i forgot to say...... THIS DOESNT HAPPEN 100% OF THE TIME. sometimes he can drive and it will be working normally the whole time, other times he moves the car 10 metres and the light comes on.
  4. actually, not sure if it was a personal import. he just baught it off some guy. i dont know the details http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cefiro and see attesa cruising. we just went for another drive, but this time we were getting error code "1" which is right front wheel sensor. this happened multiple times, probably 4 times. we didnt get 18 again. doesn anyone know exactly where the sensor is located? is it easy to just like unplug, clean in plug it back in? is it easy to tell if it is damaged? and that, and im not entirely sure my brother counted the 18 correctly. but i saw the 1 error code more than once. woulda been kinda funny for the pedestrians, car pulls over, two guys get out and open the boot and jump in, they probably thought wtf, haha
  5. trying to help out my brother with his car. i dont know much about cars really, but i think im pretty good with trouble shooting. my brother has a 91 cefiro attesa cruising. his awd light has been coming on, and has been happening for a while. he said everyone he asked couldnt explain it and didnt know where to start looking for a solution, so i got a bit interested. he has recently put a r32 gtr gearbox in the car, and when we had the car in bits, i noticed the attesa resioiver was a bit low. topped that up, but i have read that "when people change clutches they often forget to bleed the attesa lines" or something similar. this has not been done yet, but the problem was also happening before when the car was still auto. and from what i have read, i found to check the light flashing on the rear parcel shelf. i didnt see it, but i told him that next time the light comes on, dont turn off the car and count the flashes. he says it was 18, a puase, then 18 more, so im assuming he got it down right. then this link says 18 ETS pressure switch or circuit but i dont know where to go next to track down the problem. what can i do next? let me know if you need any more information.
