  1. int21h : any word on the harness?
  2. You can have mine Slip... I'll find out about machining today...let me know when...
  3. Q? : I want to take my 32 GTT (RB20DET) to the track. Do the RB20's have the same problems? and can the above-mentioned manufacturers provide the same for an RB20? 46n2 :burnout:
  4. Hey RON-15h, I've seen someone post up similar probs before and it was suggested that the timer be recalibrated (speed/revs, etc.) . Mine isn't in yet so I can't talk from experience Good Luck, Michael
  5. If str77j just wants the timer, I'll take the harness off your hands 46n2
  6. How do I check if the valve shafts are bent??? I'm going to guess that the head needs to come off again, but now that I've got a good idea of how it's done (and where all of the f&*k!ng finnicy bits are), it shouldn't be too difficult (as long as I get an engine crane & a 10 mm ratchet spanner - a direct reference to those two screws at the back of the head supporting the brackets for the turbo's water line) Michael
  7. Adam : I'll try and find an open Workshop tomorrow and get a compression test done anyway - this is really frustrating. All of the valves looked OK when the head was off. Do you need to do any more than a visual check on the valves? CMS : I phoned Nissan and they don't want anything to do with my car It's imported...They actually referred me to a place in Wooloongabba  If I can find somewhere open this weekend that's open I might try and get the knock sensor checked out. That is provided the Ignition module test doesn't give positive results... PS - Since I've run the ECU Diagnostic, my HICAS light doesn't come on after 5 minutes of idling (which it used to do frequently). Since then I've had 4 or 5 runs idling for 5-10 minutes with no HICAS light - wierd... Michael
  8. Thanks anyway int21h...I wasn't really expecting you to seperate them, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks prank...I checked it out...I might go through a shop of the GC though as I can get it cheaper ($15 freight is a bit stiff) Cheers, Michael
  9. Thanks Zahos, I'll give it a go once I have all 6 firing happily... This weekend I should be able to borrow an ignition module for a few minutes to see if that's the problem. *Fingers crossed*
  10. Bar & plate will cool more effectively, but provide less flow; and tube and fin flow more, but don't cool as well as a bar and plate. Correct me if I'm wrong.... Michael
  11. Adam, Could you send pics of the Plennum if not already sold... I think u still have my email addy. Thanks, Michael
  12. Thanks guys... I'll have to leave work early to take it to Nissan and get it checked out. Is it a difficult thing to have tested - time consuming??? Will running the O2 sensor diagnostics tell me anything? - does anyone have error codes...do the O2 Sensor Diagnostics even spit out error codes? I don't think that the plugs are the problem, though. If it was missing when boosted I would definitely pick that as the culprit, but sadly it misses most of the time when at idle to begin with. My plugs have been regapped to 0.8mm and are only 6 mths old. Thanks, Michael
  13. I know you'd rather sell them together, but would you be willing to sell the harness seperately??? Michael
  14. Sorry, didn't see the email bit...
  15. Interested, where are you in Bris? Michael
  16. Thanks again Red17... 46n2
  17. Hey Guys, I ran an ECU Diagnostic last night and it came up with 55 after 55 after 55 - All OK. I didn't wait out the entire 50 prior errors codes, but 20 - 25 55's in a row seemed OK to me. I think it might be overfuelling. From idle (1000RPM) applying light pressure to the throttle (what should be enough to take it to 1500RPM) it struggles, and sounds like its running even lower rpm, until enough throttle is given to take it just over 2000RPM. A similar thing also happens when gradually backing off the throttle. When backing off the throttle gradually (slowly and easily), when it hits 2000RPM it drops off completely (as if shutting down for half a second) back to 900 - 1000RPM, then back up to 1200RPM. Thanks Adam. Yes I got your PM, I flicked you an email, but I'll copy it and send you a PM if u need me to. Before I race off and but one, does anyone in Brisbane (I live near Toombul) have a healthy ignition module that I could run in my 32 for a few minutes as a test to see if it fixes my problem? Haze perhaps? Thanks Michael
  18. Adam, Not blowing smoke, coil packs have been tested, plugs replaced (5000 klms ago, plugs looked OK when the head was off)...Stupid question....Ignition module?? It doesn't sound like a constant misfire...I think it's going some of the time (the splurt & splutter isn't constant ) Michael
  19. ADAM: Yeah, I think it's going to be worth the trip to a mechanic's to get a comp. test. I'll find out & post results. I don't think it is a new problem (re: exh. cam timing) as it sounds no different to how it sounded before - but at this point I'm willing to check anything  KAMIKAZE : Sorry, I missed you i the last post. If it was a broken rod, would I be hearing all sorts of crook noises? (I can't?) Cheers, Michael
  20. Thanks for the mass of responses... Fatz: Thanks, I'll check the ECU Codes tonight and post back results. Injectors were cleaned & tested a few months ago and all was OK. R31_GTSX : Airflow meter? what to check? R31Man: Plug leads? Do you mean the injector plugs? Roy : I took it to the mechanic when it was first missing and we pulled everything off exposing the coil packs, and reconnected everything that needed to be. Started the car, and pulled the cables off the coil packs 1 by 1 until it sounded no different. We drew the conclusion that it was # 6. Adam : Not sure of the figures from the compression test, but I might go and have it re-tested CMS Drifter : That sounds similar to the way it's running (200-250klms per tank around city, booting it only part of the time). Where can I take the knock sensor to get it checked out in Brissy? Cheers, Michael
  21. Hi all, I have posted regarding this before, but now it seems worse... I took my 32 to the mechanics a while back to have a look at the car missing... Engine-wise, my 32 is basically stock bar a pod filter. Cylinder 6 was missing. We changed the plugs, checked the coil packs, & cleaned & tested the injectors. All of this came up OK. Compression test time. Also OK. The only conclusion the mechanic could draw was a blown head gasket. The head gasket theory is now out the window also. Slip and I replaced the head gasket and it's still missing. No change at all (except for the smoke off the ehaust manifold which is most likely to be WD40 burning off ). Can anyone - anyone - please help. I'm open to suggestions no matter how stupid they may seem... Michael
