  1. slip - thanks for the recomendation - spoke to trevor and offered me a set of RB74's for a good price. Probably will go with them. Anyone had any experience with RB74's on their 'line?
  2. slip, which pads did you go for? surreal, I've got 2 quotes so far for greens, and Autobarn came up $30 - $40 cheaper. However they haven't got a listing for 32's specifically. They've got listings for 31's, and GTS' and GTR's up to 91? Nothing changed in 32's brakes after 91 - did it? Should the pads marked for GTS fit my GTS-T?
  3. :slap: :D teeheehee ... sorry - i WAS trying to point you to the Disc Rotors thread.
  4. Thats a good thread. How bad do the Greens squeal? Also check out Post #57 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/fo...40&pagenumber=1 Could the squealing be eliminated by this? 46n2 - Asker of stupid questions
  5. "any good pad will eat the discs - as the whole system is working at a higher level. " Agreed... I'm coming up to my 100,000km svc. in the next 12 mths, and I'm thinking of waiting until then to go for something with more bite, and upgrading to maybe slotted rotors. The funds should be flowing a little better then... Do the Ultimates or Greens let off more dust...And what's the noise like with Ultimates?
  6. Thanks guys... Jay - I've seen them on Autospeed but wanted to use that as a last resort as my last internet transaction didn't go so smoothly (bloody post office - 2 and a half weeks from Melb!!). Duncan / Sumo I'm looking for a cheaper pad with low dust which won't wear the disc down too quickly. There are plans for light track work, but not for a while yet (few thingd to get out of the way first). I might look at DS3000's then. How much do a set of Bendix Ultimates go for? How much dust do they give off (under heavy street braking)?? Thanks 46N2
  7. C'mon...Someone out there has to be able to help?
  8. Hiya, Brakepads are worn terribly low. Where in Brissy (or GC) can I get Greenstuff Pads ASAP??? Ballpark $$$ ?? Any help appreciated. Thanks 46N2
  9. WTF!!?!!?! That's f*cking INSANE:thumbdwn: Such a waste of good stuff. I thought they had to take it back to stock for compliancing and then add the extras and re-comply it. Compliancing's gonna go thru the roof!! Hot Nappy Jan! :chairshot:
  10. Paying off a bank loan...1/4 the way there
  11. Is that still going to be the case this year with SEVS and things in general ( like compliancing) just getting tougher? I was reading something 2 mths ago and it was talking about having to get your car re-complied after each mod to say that it's "safe" for road use in Aus.
  12. Sorry to Hijack... Where can I find replacement studs? What are the (stud) measurements i should be chasing (also on a RB20DET ) ? Thanks, 46n2
  13. The best way to do it.... The water streaming across the windshield adds to the star-trek'n boost feel of it all I live near the airport so it works well for me too. When I get back home though I've got to wipe the dirt from the back of the skirts at either side (with a dry cloth). 46n2
  14. But let's not forget that the neon tube in front of the intercooler can actually INCREASE the airflow thru the cooler - depending on what colour it is :bahaha: I'm gonna guess that one of those 34's gets blown up. That's what they did in the last movie with the little green Eclipse. Made a couple that looked identical and blew 'em up...If they do it this time - it'll be a sad day...
  15. Thanks It's most likley to be the head gasket. The coils have been tested, plugs replaced etc. I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best. 46n2
  16. Thanks Teka... I'll be ordering the copper Gasket next week... What tools will I need to pull it all apart? 46n2
  17. Same in Townsville - bunch of skylines and no-one on the forums. Also agree with the smaller stickers idea... 46n2
  18. HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer - Just paid for mine $260. I'm hoping it'll be here before Xmas so I can give my toy it's XMAS present. 46n2:burnout: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=845
  19. A HKS Type 1 Timer will give you 0-400 m readings (or so it is written)...Mine should be arriving anytime now... 46n2
  20. " if it gets as bad as taking water into the bores (bent conrods etc) " See it all started when it was running lumpy (missing on #6). So we changed the plugs, checked the coils, checked and cleaned the injectors, compression test(?) on radiator, compression test in cylinders. The wierd thing is that the Compression test came up OK, and so the mechanic came to the conclusion that it was only leaking under load... Would the damage to the rest of the engine be as bad as a gasket that was shot entirely??? 46n2
  21. Well, apparently I'm running on 5/6cyl's because my head gasket is mildly blown. Time for a new one... What's the difference (advantagesdisadvantages) of a copper head gasket compared with the factory gasket? Some **** at what is probably the only imported spares places in sticksville told me that the only difference is the way they look and it really comes down to personal preference. That just sounds STUPID! So can anyone give me the real deal? Also, What sort of damage can be done to the engine from driving with a blown head gasket? 46n2:burnout:
