I have posted b4 but now my locale has changed (work ) and so here I go again... 46n2 (aka Michael) 21 Y/O IT Manager Townsville is now my home (for at least 12 mths). I've seen a couple of lines of sky (32's & 3's) in T'Ville but not yet seen anyone on the forums. I drive (when It gets here from Brissy with the rest of my stuff) a White 1992 R32GTST GTR Front Bar 18" 6 Spoke AVS Rims K&N Pod HKS Adj. Shocks Future Mods - near future: Cold Air Box FMIC Always up for fun. If the Townsvillians come out of the woodwork they can PM me. 46N2
  2. Sweet... Best place to get them (in brisbane...-anyone?) ? I was thinking of Greenstuffs a while ago but never posted to get actual feedback as to how they really perform, opposed to how they should perform...But 'tis good news. Are redstuffs worth going the extra mile for? Apparently they last longer too. True??? 46n2
  3. Mine came tacked (PUN INTENDED) on by 4 screws. 2 front & centre, and one at either side. It's starting to crack at the front and so needs reinforcing. I spoke with a guy at work (who restores lotuses in his spare time) and he suggested reinforcing it with a plate of sorts (aluminium rod, polyeurethane) with f/glass over the top to make it more rigid. (see pic.). The problem is the where the centre mounting bit on the front meets the rest of the bar (which supports most of the weight), creating 2 weak points. Reinforcing it this should prevent at least some unwanted stress to the weak spots in an effort to prevent cracking/strain. .....I haven't had the time to fix mine up in this way yet, so currently it's all theoretical..... (AKA - Speaking Shit)... 46N2
  4. Time to replace the brake pads and I need help deciding what to get... I want pads with little or no noise, but with more bite than the factory pads... Can anyone feed my sponge like brain (living in a pineapple under the sea...)? 46N2
  5. I know!!! when I went-a-lookin' the guy at the shop had an open one...I didn't think it'd fit ('cause I wanted to mount it on the R/S of the dash) and so he pulled it out - it looked terrible. So I went on looking for places to sit it and the middle of the dash was the sweeetest option...
  6. Sweeet....I'll get the TT when I get back to Brissy:D ...Then ponder the Tach a pay or 2 after that...really all I want is a shift light ($20 compared to $300). I would go for the shift light on its own if it was readily adjustable...can this be one without too much hassle???
  7. Looking at buying a HKS Type-1 TT...buy price approx $340... Is this a wise move?...or for the cash should I look at another timer? Also looking at buying a 5"Tach (Autometer/Autogauge). Nothing too flash...the one i'm looking that's $300. Should I steer clear of the cheaper gauges and wait for something more reputable? Advice / opinions

    Your Car

How the hell did I get a rating 2 already??? I think that it happened when I insured my EL Falcon with RACQ :zap: (sorry...I shouldn't have mentioned that) When I transfered my insurance to SCorp my rating had only just clicked over to a 2 (or it was going to at next renewal) and RACQ sent me a confirmation of rating notice with a big fat 2 on it So SCorp insured me at a rating 2 (another thing I had to argue for)
  9. It's all good...Company money...Company paper...
  10. What kind of noises is it making? Mine's seems to have a squeal that it shouldn't...
  11. God that's a long thread...who posted the doco?
  12. Are you sure that wasn't a BOMBodore  sorry...bad joke I know

Over 25 makes a HUGE difference to insurance - especially on Turbos. I'm 20 with a rating 2 (very near to one) and that doesn't seem to help me at all...

Figured I'd give 'em a shot but they quoted me $2700ish which is still a lot more than I'm paying w/- Suncorp 46n2

I phoned them up for a quote after I'd found the 32 I wanted, and the price beat all of the other insurers...So based on that I went and signed the papers to purchase the car. A couple of days before I was to pick up the car, I phoned up to get my policy 'activated'(for lack of a better word). Apparently with my age, and the no. of mods to the 'vehicle' I was too much of a risk to be insured. :burnout: Kicking & screaming, I spent 3-4 days on the phone with the loverrrly people on the phone pleading/demanding (take you pick) that 'this was what I was quoted, this is the quote number, you WILL insure me'. I think I ended up speaking to a supervisor and 'winning' my small battle. They're still the cheapest quote I'd received and that's the only reason I'm still with them... GOZ46n2
  16. I'm thinking of doing an ECU reset - are there any negatives? or is it all good and should be done without hesitation??? Also, If it is reset - have I just wasted the cash I spent getting it Dyno-Tuned 1mth ago???:Paranoid: 46n2

I was looking at a 32 from Streetmachines, but something wasn't quite right...I went up the street and picked up another from AJM instead. Kinda glad I did after reading the last few posts... Servicing I get done out at Sumner. G & A auto...seems OK - no major probs... GOZ46n2

  21. Thanks Doc... Perhaps I'll take it in to the guy who did the Dyno and get him to have a look (listen)... If it is stuffed, i think that my warranty should cover it... Have you had one blow up on you?
  22. Thanks lads.... Just curious as I'd heard so many different stories... As you can see : CAR - R32 GTST (Type M???) I've started up another thread in the performance section. My poor car's squealing. Any ideas?? Thanks GOZ46n2
  23. HELP! I had my R32 GTST run up on the dyno week b4 last and since then, whenever the boost creeps up to around 7-8PSI a disgusting squealing noise can be heard over the turbo. I'm just running a stock RB20DET with the exception of a Pod filter. The squealing kinda sounds like a belt slipping. I've checked out the 3 belts frontside and they all seem to be tight enough as it is. Has anyone seen anything similar ??? What does a Turbo sound like when it s**ts itself??? PUHLEASSEE HELP!
  24. Thanks GW I'd read somewhere something about Type M's having HICAS and regular GTS-T being stuck without...Another garden path?:uh-huh:
  25. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a R32 GTS-t & a R32 GTS-T Type M?
