  1. Hey guys, Soon I will be getting my P's and I am really wanting to get a Skyline. As many know, it's much easier to come across a Turbo Skyline, rather than a Non-Turbo Skyline. If i was able to buy a turbo, and then have it removed, etc to become a P-Plate legal car, it would give me a much wider variety of Skylines to choose from, as I would not be limited to a select few only. I am assuming that since i am downgrading, it will not require too much. I am thinking all it would need is perhaps to unmount the turbo, and have it retuned to what a stock Skyline should be at. Am i wrong in assuming this? Also, in terms of insurance (if anybody knows) since the car may read, ie - GTS-T, could I simply tell the insurance the Turbo has actually be removed, although it is a GTS-T model and does usually have the turbo, as if i ever had an accident, I would not want them to not pay out as they think it had a turbo in it, but it didn't. Appreciate any replies.
  2. Hey, Going to get my P's in around a month time from now, and I am wanting to purchase a Skyline for my first car. Being in high school and it being my first car, I am only wanting to spend around $10,000 on it. If it was something amazing for a little more, I would likely try and consider it, but I honestly do not mind, I know i'm not going to get anything mind blowing for this type of money. Of course, if the car is a little cheaper than my maximum price, that's always a bonus, as I don't want to spend $10,000 if i don't need to. Anything cheaper will be easier for me to work out and buy. Not really too fussed with colour etc etc, as long as a RWC would be able to be supplied (as i don't want to buy a car only to find out that I am going to have to spends hundreds/thousands to get it compliant before I can transfer Rego etc). If it has Rego thats a bonus, but again, as long as it is non-turbo, runs well and looks decent, that's about all we need - as with most sales My msn is : [email protected] If you want to add me for a chat, or leave some of your contact information here and I will get back to you soon. Thanks.

  5. Hey guys, Just newly registered to these forums, as i've got a bit of interest in purchasing a cheaper, second hand car for my first car, as opposed to my initial thoughts of purchasing a turbo diesel (for fuel economy reasons). I see that some people get between 250KM/tank to 450KM/tank on these forums. Stats such as the 250KM/tank scare me heh, as that's horrible fuel economy. 450KM/tank seems much better. However, i do plan on purchasing a skyline, and it will likely already have a turbo in it, but since im going to be on my P's and it's illegal for turbos now, i'm wondering if i can just simply unbolt the turbo? (Keep in mind i am fairly noob, hence the question - im unsure). If i do this, will it increase my fuel economy, as compared to having a turbo? Any other comments on why i shouldnt unmount the turbo? I dont really have a choice, but is there any negative side affects of doign this, other than losing performance? Cheers
