  1. Terry, you only have to look at we pay outside of Sydney to answer your question. Same company , same type car and half the price. There are pockets of people in Sydney (and other areas) that make big money by manufacturing claims, you can win a camel saddle if you can guess where ?
  2. It will certainly decimate you bank account, $15k could get the body rust and paint done, maybe if you do most of the work it would be an interesting project. The motor would be rusted as well and that alone would not be cheap to restore, then I would guess there would have been other problems to let it rot away like that I would charge him if I took it , lol
  3. You would need deep pockets and a lot of time for this rust bucket
  4. LOL , mine was $387 Mid North Coast , crack a Red or But where you live is a major factor when you are quoted for the CTP
  5. Whoooooh! I paid $361 for my Tiida for 12 months with QBE and $387 for the R34GTR on the 26/4/16 It must have something to do with a persons age, where they live and or their driving record I guess when they give you a quote ??????????????????
  6. Here is something on the twin 7163 AS AN ADDED BONUS, ALL PRO SERIES TURBO KITS NOW COME WITH A SUPRASTORE T-SHIRT!! One of our favorite turbo kits from back in the day was the HKS Twin Kits using GT Series turbochargers. These kits are no longer available, so we decided to release a kit that would make HKS proud, by amping up the game considerably, with ultra-modern turbo technology and a ultra-trick twin v-band mount exhaust manifold. Our twin kits offer a wide range of power delivery and torque and use only Borg Warner EFR 7163 dual ceramic ball bearing, Ti Beta Gamma Wheeled, Internal blow off valve and boost control turbochargers by Borg Warner. After working with Geoff at Full Race and BW to determine the best path forward for the SupraStore twin kit, we agreed that the mixed flow EFR 7163 would be the ideal choice. We're looking to produce the most torque and transient response down low of any twin kit ever produced while at the same time offering a compressor map that can yield us power across the entire map. We've achieved this with the 7163 twin kit. These are the same turbos used in the 2014/15 IndyCar series and are the most robust, low end torque building turbos we've ever seen. They develop torque quicker and come up to boost more efficiently than any turbo on the planet. We believe this is the ultimate 525-1000HP street twin kit on the market. It spools as good as any single kit capable of making 1000rwhp, but where it differentiates itself is in transient response, torque (bucket loads down low) and the incredible technology wrapped up inside BW EFR turbos. You can run these turbos as low as 525HP in the twin set-up, so those of you on pump gas can utilize this kit as well.
  7. Have seen a few different twin EFRs used on YouTube, up to 9180s. What I did think about, if you ever got defected for having a single on, could you go with smallish twin EFRs legally ?? Would think the cost of going back to twins would be pretty prohibitive . Here is an RB26 @ 800awhp + with twin 6258s
  8. Haha , it is going and being used, not in the garage for months at a time, just going to tweak it a bit, LOL
  9. Yeah it is fun now and from what I can work out with bum in seat experience , better with the EFR Wait till Paul gets his going sometime this Century , if I am still alive I will not get in the car with the maniac, maybe, LOL
  10. No , it was only recently I was ever in another Skyline, I was and still am new to Skylines and modifying cars, I have no idea how a stock GTR runs, only what I have been told by like minded blokes. I have no idea if there is a better turbo/s for what I want from my car. I have never tried to pass myself off as someone that knows anything about mods and can only talk about my limited experience, but I do have some mates that do know what they are talking about and I listen to them and work out what I will do next I do not care about the MPH over a 1/4 or peak power figures but I think mine would be pretty handy in full trim over a 1/4, especially with a better driver. I always wanted response from as close to idle as I can get it and believe from my limited exposure to other setups I find the 8374 is better for this than my 6266 and the 6266 is pretty good. I have been told by many on SAU to buy a V8 or bigger, but I think once the 8374 goes on and they had a chance to drive my car maybe they would change their minds, lol But if I wanted more top end I would go with the 9180 and still have a responsive R that had a lot more up top , but I cannot use it , so I will go with the 8374, if you get a chance try one. If you are ever in the area, try mine after it is done
  11. No mate, I am not directing that at anyone, it is just a statement . I do not know why threads get shut if someone says something that might upset someone else. Adults should be able to cop a bit of stick without crying about it , Admin should just tell them to stop and if they don't , kick them off, just gotta luv a bit of banter . As long as it does not get "personal" , who cares . I have read a lot of threads over the years that were getting a bit nasty, it usually stops. Even in mine I had to ask some blokes to chill as it does not allow the facts to get out there if the thread gets closed. All I know is from driving my 3.2L / Vcam and after being in a 2.6L V spec 2 Nur with Vcam and a 3.0L without a Vcam, both with the 8374 on, I am getting one strapped on ASAP. This does not mean my 6266 is crap , it maybe better up top than the 8374 but as a street car I want it spooling earlier with better transient response.
  12. Duncan , if someone starts to derail this thread , just ban him/them and let the rest of us wait for comparisons that will come as others change to or from the EFRs. The more back to backs the better
  13. double quote, bloody computer, having a lot of trouble with the site but I think it has to do with my security ?
  14. Intune, I might get it wrong as I had a few reds , RB30 , efr8374 . 1.05 RH and Poncams 9.15 , Bs I think. If Nik reads this he might sort out if I got it wrong ? He had -5s before and thought they were pretty good but said the EFR smashes them for response and transient response. It does not miss a beat. If I had any doubts about swapping my 6266 Gen 2 for the EFR to use on the street , the doubts are gone , have to go to the Piggy bank again
  15. I do not care what you buy, you can choose anything and if you abuse it or take it outside the Warranty recommended usage guidelines and stuff it, bang goes your warranty. How many of these EFRs blow up. If a speed sensor can protect your turbo , you would be a DH not to use it ? I thought they used the EFRs in all sorts of racing , except for the hard core drag racing ? Anyway, went for a run in Niks R on Saturday arvo , as s2d4 said and could not be a much better example than Niks car, right turbo for how you want your car to drive and Niks car proves the point, one FUN Skyline and a neat ride, thanks NIk
  16. I can make it relevant Mr Lith, he can buy my PT6266 CEA Gen 2 next year and I will get the EFR 8374 , lol
  17. Bad timing Did you get to talk to Rob about what you are doing with the Whale ? When are you back ?
  18. YET, lol Did you get a chance for a ride/drive in one of his great Rs
  19. So get White Whale ripped But finish it first
  20. ^^^^^^^^^^^this if it is over 15 years old , you only dive it a couple of times a week and have a garage , call NRMA Vintage/ Classic they seem to be the best without taking your first born as a security deposit
  21. Umair , it was great to get your info, what I meant , if it had been the 6266 it would have made the 8374 low end response look even better , but I think the top end would be pretty close with both turbos
  22. Thanks good to get something solid for comparisons, but It would have been a little better comparison if the PT6266 CEA Gen 2 (800BHP) was used instead of the 6262 CEA (705BHP) as the 8374 & 6266 are rated at 800BHP if you are looking for a bottom and top end HP comparisons, I think
  23. Someone had to start it again, lets hope it does not get bogged down with BS ? But it is hard to find info on the EFRs ? I think because there are so many build types for Skylines now ranging from stock to over 3.2Lt , it is also hard to have back to back comparisons. But from what I can find out, the EFR8374 will get me going quicker, with a much better transient response and roughly to the same top HP as my PT6266 Gen 2 ? Hopefully some back to back comparisons
  24. Well if there is no more bullshitting and trolling , my guess is, most threads will be pretty quiet Some blokes have their opinion , it may not be main stream and it may be 100% wrong, but that does not mean it is BS. It just needs other blokes that know what they are talking about to post the facts and we all learn something. Just got told what was said, did not see it, that shit has to stop!!!!!!!!
