  1. Had the same problem with my alternator, after charging my battery it would slowly loose the charge, high beam would not work, MFD would go blank, installed a 150A Black and no more flat battery
  2. Looks like my Vcam is not working down low, waiting to see what happens from Haltech and might be able to do a fix online ?

  3. Hi Dan

Nice to meet you  and I hope you had a safe flight home

  4. No Probs Patrick, boredom got the best of me, pissing down rain all day I am just glad I did not stuff around and whacked the new alternator on, going down south on Friday and low beam on country roads is a shit, like to see the fury critters eyes shinny long before I get to close , they make a mess when they hit the carbon fiber bits
  5. HI Johnny, it will be fixed on Friday , no problem. I was just wondering if there is not enough voltage could this cause a similar spiking problem as Patrick was talking about . I know I have asked some dumb questions but the only way I know how to learn, is to ask the question
  6. Something you said is interesting, I have been spiking on E85 at 5000rpm ish, ( no spiking on 98 pump)and going to have it sorted but I also have had an alternator problem and it slowly runs the battery down until I recharge it, battery is good, had it checked. Could not even run high beam for long the way it was. Had a 150A Black alternator installed on Tuesday and will be going back on E85 on Friday to have a look at the spiking problem before I have the tune tweaked , be interesting to see if it has made any difference having the right voltage and constant , probable not , but?
  7. Yes James, I am sure your car is worth a lot more than $3K , you would get more flogging the parts Just give that number a call and see what they say, I would like to hear the outcome. Oh and sometimes you get an operator that does not know what they are talking about and tell you they do not insure this type of car, it has happened heaps of times. So call again.
  8. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying, from your quote it sounded like you used NRMA and Classic/Vintage is not a normal NRMA full comprehensive policy. I was saying you have to call a different section of the NRMA for the Classic-Vintage insurance, Give this a call 1800646605 and see what they have to say
  9. Normal NRMA is not the section you go to? NRMA Classic and vintage mob, but they are not for your daily drive car, have a look on Google
  10. HAD A FEELING IT WAS DOWN THAT WAY, JUST SHOWS A BLOKE HOW LONG SINCE i HAVE BEEN DOWN THAT WAY Used to go down the old road when I was a young bloke, looks great
  11. I agree and it used to be one of the easiest to navigate
  12. Where is that road ?
  13. Nice I have the 6266 Gen 2 , still about 50kw left , ID1300 injectors, both are close to maxed at 730 BHP Always wondered how the 6466 would have been with ID2000 in mine and what the spool difference would be against the 6266
  14. Also interested in the GPS tracker, there is another thread but I cannot remember the name ? Try NRMA vintage insurance if it is not a daily ride and you have another car to use for everything else. They had it you can drive it 10 times a month and in a garage but it seems they could change their policy at anytime. Great deal if you can get it
  15. I am starting to feel a bit better about mine and might take it up a notch or 2. Always wondering were the limit is with torque on the getrag I guess stuff a change up at the wrong time and POP!

  17. Hi Daz I change gears now when it was just starting to go before , lol Great street setup Piggaz put the OS seq in his 33 and said it is mad , wait until that one is finished, it will fly, if only I live that long, lol
  18. My info is not worth much as I do not race or drag but run it through the hills and have a bit of straight line fun with it. I would think if you are going hard all of the time and trying to go quicker , even with my 618AWHP and a lot of torque could cause some problems but as GTRNUR said, there are some real beasts running 800 to 1000HP Mine is 461KW , 1000Nm around 4000rpm. Getrag 6, twin coppermix C spec, quaif front diff, trannie has a few more plates, a Nismo2-way lsd and 265x35 AD08Rs. So it spreads the load to all wheels and puts a lot of twist on the box, only spins wheels a bit if it is a freezing morning. I stopped dropping the clutch but when I did I loaded it first. Has handled it well, except I nearly fried the clutch being a DH the other day, but after the smoke drifted off, OK again, lol
  19. I could always handle my mistakes when doing something new and if I had done what you have done. I would be giving myself a bit wet kiss X and go for a run in the paddock, lol
  20. you might have to tie it in a knot for a few years and wait for the young ones to grow a bit so you can get the serious stuff done in the shed, lol Understand your frustration but at least it is under your control, when there is a builder in control and BS ing to you, it seems worse But mate, it is going to be one of the great builds . Busting to see yours and Paul's on the road again. I know I do not know much about mods but I believe mine turned out OK in the end and exactly what I was after
  21. Looks like you dropped a plate of rainbow spaghetti , lol Any ideas when you could be turning the key , motors looking mad
  22. More vids please I think you would have to join the queue for people that hate their own voice , lol But your voice comes up OK
  23. Shame to put it in the car and get it dirty with yukky oil fumes etc, lol
