  1. You haven't seen Paul's wallet, he has to use a wheelbarrow to carry it around, lol Looking good Paul, just hurry up and finish it, it will be MAD!
  2. No more pissing up on the weekends, finish it
  3. The way the E85 gets chewed up on spirited drives, a drum , 200 odd Lt ( 3.5 tanks ish) would not last much longer than 2 to 6 months if you drive it 3 times a month. Depends on what you call going for a drive is. Either way I doubt you would have a condensation problem. Just have to wonder when you buy it from the station how old it is before you buy it ? I was worried about the E85 I bought before I had to put my car in for some work and had it for over 8 months in 20Lt containers , tipped it in and off it went, just have to love those flex fuel sensors "If" I used E85 all of the time 200lt would not last much more than a month or 2 at the most. But it is good to use 98 pump , then run it close to empty and when the 85 goes in you can get the full benefit of the difference If I did not DRIVE the car, I would not even buy E85, it is a pain getting it where I live but it is so much better than 98, see Paul, you win
  4. I would not bother taking my R to the shops The other stipulation is, you have a daily drive
  5. Yes they changed the 9000klm to 10 trips a month a while ago. A bit silly and harder to keep track of if you ask me. So you could do 10 return trips Sydney to Melbourne for example, about 17000klm in a month OR a year and it is a lot more than the original 9000klm , got me beat ? A lot of blokes on here seem to get their jollies off on the track and are not insured while on the track. I would think that most of them are better drivers than the norm on the road, well maybe, lol
  6. At this time I just drive around country roads with plenty of fun sections. I know reading and watching vids does not always tell the story, but it is better than nothing and was all I had to go off. It is hard getting past the manufacturers input ? A lot of what I read before I bought them sort of backs up what you blokes have said about the wet, but I do not think they are that bad in the wet, BUT there is wet and there is WET! I think you are mainly talking about track work. I saw a couple of vids with these in the wet but they were from drivers not pushing it and a little weak on the KWs. The best thing is, when it is raining that hard, I slow down a bit as there are too many dry days to enjoy. But these tyres are great fun in the dry, like s**t to a blanket and unless you are smashing it , not bad in the wet
  7. Understand that, just wondering if you were spending $200 for a street tyre which one would you buy . Probably get more Klms out of the RE003s The AD08Rs seem a great all rounder, not sure how they will be once they are loosing some tread in the wet ??
  8. The RE003 235/45x17 are around $200, it was not long back that they were selling the Yokohama AD08Rs 265/35 X 18 for $200 , has anyone used both of these tyres, wet /dry review ?
  9. haha, that's what I did and realistically that is what is needed to be done if you truly want an old performance car to perform after being flogged for so long. Different if you just want to push every last pony out of them and hang on until they go POP!
  10. If your GTR is kept in good condition, what keeps braking ? Or is this only when you track and trash your cars they keep going POP ??
  11. I am still surprised at how many KIDS as young as 7 up, will come over and say , whoow a GTR skyline , probably because of Vid games. I think after 25 odd years the legion lives on and now with the US in the market the prices will slowly keep rising. I think there are a lot of blokes like me, I loved the Skyline but wanted more, so I added more and modernized it, so I have a car I like to look at and always smile when it turns over,I can drive it at 60 in 6th,, that is just over idle, twin coppermix C spec clutch is easy and the Getrag is still in one piece, both handling the 1000Nm @ 3900rpm, a dream GTR , who needs a V8 for long trips Maybe smashing it around a tract would leave a few parts in the rear view mirror, haha
  12. Oh, what year is it, Alz kicking in
  13. I have just bought some MCA X-C coilvers and will be having them installed in a couple of weeks, anyone had any experience with the MCA range? Mine has a mind of its own on some crappy roads , take an extra pair of undies when I go to play, so I will also have the bushes changed and whatever else is loose down there. Try another alignment and hope it all helps keeping it going straight, lol But, cruise control, really ?? I have had it on a few cars and only used it once
  14. If anyone bought the wrong car it was me, but luckily I was in a financial situation to make it the right car for me. I do not see a problem driving Rs on long trips as most highways are pretty good. I go 5 minutes from home and it is like a driving heaven for 50 klm with all types of driving conditions with variable speed limits and some great twisty stuff and at the right time you are just about the only car on it. I am going to have an extra large hole made and they can bury me in the GTR , get to hell ASAP and in a car I love to drive
  15. ^^^^^^^^^ This I have had over 25 cars in my life and the GTR is the most fun outside the bedroom , nowadays, including the bedroom , LOL You can stick your massive Turbos, I will have something more drivable, more torque, more TORQUE!!!!!!!!
  16. Well I hope so, or I wasted 6 months susing stuff out and having it installed Apart from my shitty suspension and bushes , around twisty stuff there is no problem and feels strong, but when you go hard in a straight line it is shit when the road is uneven and had to check my undies when I got home a few times ! Have some MCA X-Comfort coilovers going in after the school hols and the bushes replaced , so I guess I will find out in a few weeks the difference it makes. But the MCA coilovers look to pretty to hide under the car
  17. But that's not talking about buying a Skyline, it was about RWD Vs AWD, I am sure there are plenty of blokes that think exactly the opposite to me and you do not have to do what I did to my driveline they are pretty good without all of that crap and expense . You have to get your priorities worked out and just buy a GTR if your pocket will allow, but whatever you buy , do your homework , I wish I had my advice, 20 X 20 hindsight is great, LOL
  18. I do not track, but have a heap of grunt and would hate to have my GTR as RWD, I could not have half the fun as I do with AWD. Even went further with it, put in a Quaif front diff and a couple of extra plates in the trannie ,it had a 2-way back diff. It is great on all surfaces and puts it down real good. Give it some throttle , no spinning and wobbling all over the place, feels great around the twisties, it just gets down to business and nothing is wasted, luvit
  19. From what I can work out with Skylines, either they have been flogged to death and sold just before it does POP!. OR they get looked after. when things are getting worn out, they get upgraded and the only thing old left is the shell as most of the other shit is newish , not 15 or 25 years old . BUT you have to pay for quality. So you need to know what you are buying, get all the previous work invoices if you can and find out as much about the car you are looking at buying. Do not take the private sellers word without proof, it is an as is sale. Car yards, get the best warranty you can get from them , check the models value and read the fine print, twice!
  20. I like the idea that R32 Skylines are now allowed into the US, big market but I wonder if they will spend the type of money for the GTR Skylines as they are now starting to rise in price. The cars there seemed so cheap compared to OZ's with our crazy luxury import taxes etc and it will be interesting to see if it affects our prices over the next 10 years ? It will not make any difference to me, I will be in an earn on the mantle or flushed down the crapper
  21. Well got through the weekend alive. Getrag in tact and Coppermix twin C spec holding strong BUT Micko tried to burn my house down with my BBQ and between him and Paul started a fire under the 34's bonnet, luckily both fires were controlled without the fire department being called, LOL All I can say is , I hope the garbage truck has VERY STRONG arms that lift the recycle bins, this is over flowing with all types of alcoholic containers, ranging from longnecks, variety of girly stubbies, wine, mixers and JB and all of the containers were sucked dry If I was the sort of bloke that told stories out of school I could say more, but that is not my style
  22. Update Decided to go V-Cam Lost a little up top, but it the injectors and Turbo were just about maxed, all good The end, I hope
