Educated Guess At The Final Tune Results
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Josh, might see you there around lunch time I think, have to get a bus and a train to get there and Paul is getting me from the railway station, well if he does not get lost, lol. You would also know what caused the leak and understand why I am so pissed off -

How can I answer this without the thread being closed ? They failed to check the work before they rebuilt it, due diligence should always be the first rule with this type of work , if not there is a shit load to do to get it back together the way it should have been in the bloody first place We can all make mistakes but then you fix them, no bullshit, find the problem and fix it not make a bullshit video saying the leak was in plain sight for 4 month but no one could find it. This was a considerable expense to me, one that should not have happened and when a few things are sorted I will post the information and you blokes can see what you make of it? -

I agree and there where lots of things I could have done to make more power up top, bigger turbo and injectors were needed if I wanted to do anything as they were close to maxed out before the V-Cam and if I used the Pro I would have had to change them to get the benefit of the 10mm lift, I will never know ? Photo of it being finished off. I even had strife with rocker the covers , waited forever to get them powder coated and when they arrived they were dinged The Step Pro gives you more up top I think with the higher lift but only gives 300rpm over the step 2. Both give you a variable amount of 50deg. I was only after a better bottom end I went for the Step 2 and a lot less expensive. It was hard to find out anything about V- Cams , so I had to wing it, bite the bullet and do it. Paul might be coming up here at Easter and he can give an independent assessment of how it goes, just have to stop him and Mick-o from smashing the box,lol -

I had the UE 260 10.8 cams with a sharp ramp rate, left the exhaust cam in I was playing around, lol It is now a V-Cam Step 2 , 262 x 8.7 intake cam and using the same UE exhaust cam 260 x 10.8 Lost a little up top due to the smaller intake cam, would love to be able to use the 260 10.8 After waiting for months to find and start fixing the water leak I had too much time on my hands and thought , since the motor is out and the car was going to be in the shop for a while, I had plenty of time to order the V-Cam and get all the bits ready to plug in when it was going back together. All run in and just about ready to go, couple of days to tidy it up Pink old setup Red vcam on Green vcam off Once Jez finally got the motor back he just got stuck into it this bloke is tops -

Hi , Well this must be close to the final tune , I think . Advanced hard for response, I know you all love it used a 262 8.7 intake and 260 10.8 sharp ramp exhaust cams I lost 14.6 KW up top A few specs Here is the power and torque overlay on E85 vs old Dyno 1000nm torque at 4000rpm Gained 260nm at 3200rpm Gained 75kw at 3200rpm Gained 160nm at 3900rpm Gained 50kw at 3900rpm This must be getting close to a V8 performance Still waiting for the final reports on the water leak but only days away. Yes, The End! The Final Tune! I think ? Maybe Could be ? -

You are a bad birdie, not just the speed these things can do, the noise they blow out, 90DBs ? , doubt it or can they be louder ?? I had a bike back when, 650 Thunderbird and a 200CC would blow it off the road now, but it was still fun, lol -

How does "crafty Manic" sound Terry. I fall under that, I think ? I just do not do stupid shit with other people or cars around, scared a few rabbits, foxes and Roos, well the Roos scared me The blokes showing off for their mates are going to cop it all the time and the hoon laws do not F around! You really have to push these GTRs to spin and that is how I like it, well I do miss it -
I have bought a few imports from Lee's over a long period , all were sold as low KLM cars, drove them and except for the R34GTR (final tune needed after run in) I thought they were all pretty good and thinking the odo had been tweaked but was happy with the overall condition of the cars. I was told the R34 had 17,000 klm on it , I said yeah 17k for each wheel and maybe the spare but the car/s were very clean. As far as the bullshit these blokes get away with, it should not be allowed and should be stopped ASAP. I did take E Lee to NCAT and won on a different problem. It is great to get as much info out there to help blokes buying imports PS , I could not open the Video, but will try on my PC later

Ditto ; Fishing is fun, some fish do not like it, I do If you had ever driven mine when I bought it, you would have stuffed a V8 in it, you had to speed if you wanted to get anywhere, or drive around in 2nd or 3rd in 50/60 zones unless it was dead flat roads , lol -

When I have a car, I do not mind dropping down a gear, but 3 gears seems a bit much to overtake at 60. lol -

I think the slim NPs are a good idea but a few blokes do not like them and have told me they look like crap ?? It gives you as much air intake as possible , cooler motor is a cool motor  Love the way some blokes sort of nail the plates, sometimes bent plates to a beautiful car, might have something to do with tracking ??? but it looks shit ! Guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder ? -

It OK Mark, still kicking and enjoying life I am pretty sure I will have the car back soon and cannot wait to feel it boost and have a couple of spirited runs around the hills, after about 7 months it should feel even better -

haha, I saw that sign a couple of days ago at Barclays Marina , to top everything off I went to use my boat on Australia Day, started rough, revved a little but would not idle, pulled the dip stick and out came caramel oil, yes my intake manifold had stuffed the last time I used it and water had been sitting in the donk for a few months and it was farked! When it rains crap it just keeps falling, lol -
Test For Coolant System Additives To Stop Leaks
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in General Maintenance
Well I should have the car back by the end of the month, that is the good news I have said some of this in another thread, so stop here if you have seen it , just letting the blokes that have followed this know what has happened. I have the report and it is as good as it can get for me, it was assessed by an independent shop/s that the leak was due to some work that was done at the time of the build and concluded it could not have been done at any other time. It was not a hose , gasket , cracked block or head, interesting, yes? It has been fixed and bolted back together, sounds easy, not, there was a lot of tests, checks and many hours of repair work and new parts . Just waiting on a couple of parts and it can be finished off and tuned, asking for as much response as he can jiggle out of the cams as there was a bit left there last tune Sent the report to the builder yesterday and still waiting for a response and that is were I am at the moment. It could be easy or hard and will not be something I want to be part of, but I refuse to pay twice to get it back to how it should have been after the initial build
