  1. No external leaks, so not looking too good The end!
  2. You bad I never give up, sometimes that can be very expensive, but life is too short not to get somethings done that you want, lol
  3. Yes , paid for the Nitto Stroker, Coppermix clutch, Quaife front diff and most of the other before the build was started and added a couple of things like flex fuel sensor, but had all of the quotes before the build started. The turbo had the .84 added at build time I listened to like minded blokes on the SAU, asked questions, went surfing the web and got what I thought would do what I wanted. I was going to leave the Turbo on until after the build to see how it went. It goes OK, so it stays. After the build , the manifold was changed because it was full of cracks and holes. Had the fuel line updated and a flex tune, the results were good. Just back to the water problem and now we will see how it goes, I think it is going through the motor some how and it will have to be pulled down before it has major damage done. Should know tomorrow
  4. You are kidding, right? I chose all of the parts to go in the car (except the Turbo) and bought most of them before the build started and had it dropped off at the shop. I knew exactly what I wanted from the car and GOT IT, might have had to go to someone else to finish it but got it done. My car works fine with the work " I " had them do, how they did it is out of MY control. I did not hand them my wallet, I got a quote from them. Checked it out through 3 other shops and it was under the other quotes but the final bill was about the same, so what are you talking about??? Stick a good driver in my car and except for the brakes and suspension it would give most a run for their money , track or street. Best of all, I farken love it Just need a jug of water and away you go
  5. Serious that some blokes seem to get pleasure out of other peoples problems, fn oath, !
  6. What has my age got to do with a professional workshop doing the work properly the first time, oh and the 2nd time, whoops 3rd time ? As far a the car being 16 years old, there in nothing much left under the hood that is not new and the drivline is the same. Doing this sort of build, I think one should expect to have new hoses. But I do not believe the problem was ever the hose , but ?? You may except this situation but for me after you have given someone 3 goes at something it is time to move on. I was told by the builder that the car is fixed and I should take it to my local bloke as the new lwater lose should not be hard to find, you just gotta luv em They have washed their hands of the car and mentioned "the car has had substantial work and tuning performed on it since it left here a few months ago." So as far as they are concerned, I am on my own, but it will depend what the problem turns out to be ?
  7. The bloke that does my work here has been building and racing cars all of his life but more the V8 types of cars , so he will be able to give it a good going over and I will then take his advice should I need to take it for a head off job as he does not have the equipment for tuning etc should it need it and I would like to do it all at once and I will take it to Jez.
  8. I love the piss taking and take it in the way it was intended, just sometimes it is just smart arse talk from little boys and I like to fire a few cheap shots back, haha
  9. No Probs Mate It will be sorted one way or another, I just hope it is the less expensive way, lol
  10. Thanks mate Still driving the car as normal, just check the water every morning. But from some of the advice I have from a couple of blokes that actually read the posts before typing, I had better get it sorted ASAP or I could have a major motor melt down I know about backs, I am a retired upholsterer . worked Fn hard to be able to do this build , I never whinged about the money, only when I had bad results that should have been sorted before the car was given back to me ? The way some of the blokes go on you would think I wanted this shit to happen, got me stuffed if I can work some of them out as they seem to get pleasure out of someone elses problems ?
  11. As I said, the water lose started the first day I drove it home from the build. I do not know what hoses were changed, the one with the leak was on the car before the build. It would loose about 500mm on a drive using boost over 60klm , it is the SAME as it was after the build, no more, no less ?? I went to Newcastle Saturday, drove around over the 2 days, about 420klm and it used about 700mm all up. No sign of the motor over heating. Nothing to see. I looked for the leak fro 3 months while I waited for it to go back into the shop. FOUND NOTHING! It was in the shop for a month before they said they found the problem, They changed the orange hose and it was alright for about a month and then it went slowly back to how it WAS after the build! That is why I asked about stop leak products. You cannot see where the water goes, how many times do I have to explain this. What I love about some blokes on this site , I get pissed on because of the shit that has happened to me and I ask for some advice, I DID NOT DO THE WORK, I DID NOT BREAK ANYTHING, I PAID TO HAVE WORK DONE LIKE THE REST OF YOU BLOKES. I DID NOT WANT THIS SHIT TO HAPPEN!!!!! For you blokes that go on about me having too much money and know nothing about cars, I know what I want and paid to have it done and except for fark ups from the mechanics side my car now runs the way I wanted it to. It has good response and keeps going.
  12. Hey 75 Coupe, my basic knowledge about cars is fine. My knowledge about modifying cars was nil up to 18 month ago and it seems the more you learn the less you know , so I guess you have learnt a lot
  13. Hi, been away for the weekend Firstly , some of you blokes should read what was said before you post. I said the hose was changed at least twice in this thread , most of you know the story and still don't get it. The water lose started the day I picked it up from the 3.2 build, waited 3 months to get the car back into the shop to check out the water lose and a few things to be sorted from the build. They pressurized the radiator ALL day on a Saturday and found nothing, then did it on Monday and "found the leak "THE VIDEO" were it was pissing out. They changed the hose and said it was fixed , took the car home and for a month or so it was OK, THEN started to loose water again. Now it is back to how it was after the build . NO SYMPTOMS NO water leaking under the car NO water in the oil No oil in the water No bubbles in the water No sign of leaks from ANY hose that I can see NO water vapor out of the exhaust So here I am about 5 months after the build, the hose was changed because they said this was the water lose problem. A month or so after the hose was changed and the water had stopped disappearing , it started again, it is no EXACTLY the same as it was before the hose was changed and NO SIGN WHERE THE WATER IS GOING! The car goes in tomorrow and if nothing can be found I will have to take it in for a serious assessment , I would hate to stuff the motor up as the car runs great and shit loads of fun Thanks for the blokes that had something to contribute The other , HGAS
  14. Additive to fix what type of leak ? The hoses were changed to a black type , car came back OK then after some time went back to EXACTLY the way it was. Understand there was NO VISABLE LEAK at any time, they had it on a pressure gauge at 20psi ALL DAY and nothing! Then the next day you could shower under it ? All I have said it is the strangest thing I have seen if this was the original problem, cant find a leak, find the leak in the most visible situation after HOURS of being pressurized, change the hose, leak fix, short time later after the leak had stopped, it slowly went back to how it was ?? I am just stating the facts as they are and the only thing that made sense to me was an additive was used to mask a problem that was in the too hard basket to repair, this "does not mean" it is what happened but from years with cars and seeing how stop leak products work, it seems the same outcome ????????????????????
  15. Please understand, I do not know what is wrong or if anyone is to blame. I cannot help how my mind works . The car was loosing water the same day I picked it up from the build and it was only using a similar amount of water for the 3 months while I waited to have the repairs done.. After the leak was found and "fixed" it was only a month or so before it started to loose water again and it ended up exactly the same as before the leak was found. In my mind, I find it hard to believe that the problem was fixed by changing the hose. I think that nothing was fixed and that there was a patch job done by using some type of stop leak product and over some time it has gone back to how it was. I might be 100% wrong but for something to be acting in a certain way for months, then the problem was found and fixed, to go back to exactly the same problem, seems unlikely to me. But it would not be the first time I have been wrong
  16. The hose was changed Do not understand the metal and water line ?
  17. Here is the Video of the leak that was fixed Keep in mind I had never seen this leak and had been looking for 3 months while I waited to have the repairs done, not a drop or wet spot. Looks like we have got some good news on the coolant loss. Enclosed are pics of the tool we made to constantly pressurise the cooling system at approx 20psi all day Saturday with no coolant loss. This morning we put the tool back onto it to continue pressurising the cooling system and within about 10-15min the enclosed video will show you the result. Prior to testing on Saturday we noticed a small amount of residue around that area but couldn’t confirm a leak during testing. I just do not understand why it took a full day of being pressurized to 20psi and nothing, then 15 minutes the next day you can have a shower under it, but I am a cynic and have no expertise in coolant problems, maybe one of you blokes can explain it? 18. Thanks fellas, I will write down all of your suggestions and pass it along. If they do not find it on Monday I will have to think seriously about having the head checked out properly
  19. As usual you are willing to jump straight in there with a wealth of knowledge and give it you all, what a great person You are so helpful So I will race out and buy 3 and see if I can stick them all together, sort of a power packed sequential with , PT 7675 , EFR9180 and GT47R , now if that does not fix the leak , nothing will
  20. Have checked everything every morning since the build if I have driven the car the day before. It does not loose water when not driven. It has never got to a stage where the water temp is higher than normal. About 70-72 degrees on the MFD and just under 1/2 on the temp gauge. Oil is clean Water is clean and no gas bubbles when revving The car is booked in for Monday to do all the tests, so before I jump off the gap I will wait and see, lol
  21. Just found the invoice and the studs are 1/2" ARP head and main I would think 1/2" is pretty substantial and are used in similar powered engines, but no personal experience.
  22. As the lose is a slow one it is hard to know exactly what is going on. I had turned the boost off before but if you push it there was still water being lost, could be 250mm to Sydney or the same pushing 60klm What tail am I chasing wrongly this time, I am still trying to work out the other tail ??
  23. Just because you have not heard about it , it does not mean it cannot be done. Take water from the radiator and have it tested ? That is why I asked for the main ingredient, makes it easier to know what you are looking for and cheaper Wether or not it shows up is another question but worth a shot I guess
  24. You could be right but they have been doing these builds for yonks? What happens? It seems to be worse when on boost for a longer periods I will check it out, thanks
