Test For Coolant System Additives To Stop Leaks
Nismo 3.2ish replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in General Maintenance
Not sure how to say this but I will try to be as nice as I can, get Farked you smart kent! -
I was wondering if there is a test to see if some sort of Chemical additive has been used to stop coolant leaks throughout the coolant system ? Something like Bars or Chemiweld etc , what would be the main ingredient to look for in this type of product ?

Do you realize that Cutty has not been on HIS own thread since page 12 , post 221 and only 3 times since page 7.You blokes may have forgotten that he would love to go from 1000 to 9000rpm ASAP ( Yummy me too) and not from 5000 or 6000rpm to 9000rpm, maybe he is my long lost Son Cutty has probably killed himself after reading our dumb arse posts, "I like them" as it gets boring if you know shit all about motors, technical shit, etc, Pics are good, so I am going to tell him something if he is still alive and kicking, some home truths as "I" believe them to be.. I find it hard to believe you can get a 26 to be as good as a 28 to a 32 as a DD if you want go from idle. As a DD/ street car Cutty, you will be happier with a stroker in your Skyline, you say you want response ASAP as a DD , then, the bigger stroker the better to get these heavy low CCs cars going To me with the extra CCs they are more linear and I believe safer on the road than a peaky R that kicks in hard. As you apply the thottle you can feel the car react more smoothly on corners and at least 1 or 2 gears higher. I do have an excellent drive line to help put the power down, no spinning wheels, just goes I have no problem with other blokes preferences to how they want their cars to go , hope it works for them, but response is sort of like a swear word with "some" blokes on SAU, the only words I can think of to use instead of response is , Zoom , jump, leap, and fast! but 5 letters, quick, swift, rapid, brisk, hasty, nippy, smart, fleet, zzzzzzzzzzz whoops dozed off, time to top up The only mod difference with the Dynos were , the cams went from 260 9.15 Poncam B to 260 10.8 ,, 6boost , 4" dump( same 3.5" exhaust) and of course the 3.2 stroker. When the 26 was first tuned with the new mods there were NO problems with the 3" dump. But the 3.2 @ 437kw is 92 kw more @22psi than the 26s 345kw @24psi , that is a lot on 98 pump . By the way , my daughters sleeping over tonight, so the old bloke has been out to play, hic hic

Not everyone , some of us are desperate , so maybe if he/she did not want to kiss and definately no tounge, it could be a goer
-
Just banter mate . A lot of blokes with nothing much else to do, oh you will notice how the SAU gets busy once everyone gets to work and fire up the company's computer, lol
-
Hopefully nothing more to see, forever
-
Make a great DD

Not good enough , I want to see how it runs now and experience the mental joy of lagging around Melbourne in peak hour, lol now I am jealous of that This is the way to get off topic, not the other drivel , haha
-
I never thought I would say this, but, you are an idiot. XGTRX seems like a nice bloke to me and how his car runs is his business. He has a bit of fun and a few digs about response in his posts and I/we dig back about lag, fun , not serious, joking , playing around ! Of course we have our preferences , duh ? I care not about anyone elses car or how it runs , what KWs it is, laggy , not laggy , blue or green, well maybe I like some other colours better than mine. I do not give a crap if it is 20kw or 1000kw and I do not get jealous of other blokes cars. I ogle them because they look great and love reading some of the builds on SAU, so take a chill pill or maybe you need to up your medication??
-
Then you are smarter than me, I thought that since I had spent a shit load of $s I had better give the builder a chance to fix the problems, silly me
-
Shit I have to ask or I will die, how would you have fixed it quicker ?
-
Just love smugness in a man Anthony I am glad XGTRX knew what he was doing, I didn't , but I hung in there and the results I wanted speak for themselves you blokes do not have to like it , I do and thats all that matters, lol Just quietly, you must have something wrong in your head to read 100 pages of drivel that you obviously did not like, I start reading a thread and if I do not like it , I STOP READING IT, DUH!
-
I am sure it would have to be MUCH better than mine, it was hideous to drive and try it with Quad clutch in peak traffic for 1 1/2 hours and you will understand why I hated the heap of shit I am putting up my old Dyno off the 2.6 so some of these blokes know what I call laggy, so they will know what I mean and why I tried so hard to get the car I wanted to drive. Now, I showed you mine, show me yours!
-
haha, don't shoot your Biographer, it was your story as told by you, I just put pen to paper so to speak and there's nothing wrong with a bit of stupid , the trick is , knowing that your stupid makes one a lot smarter and at times I can be pretty stupid, I feel smarter already . So, I am here to help you get through your fear on low rev speed. Starters, I will give you a few KW down low to start with, put a big spring behind your accelorator so you cannot push it too quickly and away you go :3some:
-
You are OK with your car's setup because you drive around in a traffic jam, 1st and 2nd gear driving is fun , as long as you do not have a soft clutch, no problem. As you said, the good thing about this is, you do not have to change your undies every time you go for a drive as it does not scare you BUT, only 6000rpm or 7000rpm away from a MONSTER ready to eat the road , good luck with that as a DD in Melbourne City
-
No, I think he sits down to wee wee
-
I could race it with my Tiida, since my build the poor old thing cannot get a win
-
haha, I do not live in the City, 2 minutes down the road it is 80 another 2 minutes it is 100 and 50 klm of country road that has all of the features that make driving fun and I do it up to 7 days a week I leave the City driving to you poor bastards Oh and at the end of my road there is one of the best hill climb roads in NSW , Wooton Way. Mmmmm it is like driving heaven
-
Now your talking, 4000rpm for 300KW rules for the road. I think I will try for 400KW @ 4000rpm as it is an easier number to remember, response, response , response
-
If the power is usable , 300kw is more than enough My original setup was 338kw and shit for a DD, my mistake so I changed it, here is the 26 Dyno with the different turbo and cams , it was OK but for me still a crappy street car. But more than enough power for the street, probably different turbo and cams would have fixed it for what I wanted, but ? Now I have some torque to get it rolling and the power can be used much better than something that kicks in at 7000rpm, I have changed gear before then and have fun on the speed limit, advisory speed signs are good for direction
-
I have said that a 100 times, it is your car, mod it and drive it the way it makes you happy, the end! I have copped a lot of crap because I wanted response, I never put shit on blokes that want what they want. But for me getting full boost at 7000rpm for a street car, is nuts , it is a waste of power. If I could have gotten what I wanted at 300kw, that would have been enough. As a new bloke to all of this, I am sure I did it the wrong way, but ? My built 26 would rev 10,000rpm +, you could not rev to 7500rpm in 2nd without speeding on the freeway, that was only 1000rpm after the boost kicked in, oh and that is after struggling up to 5500rpm to get it to start to move unless you drop it at 7000rpm +, then your head would fall off, so, was this a street car, not for me and I am the only one that counts. My Tiida would blow the bloody thing off the road from an idle start and a lot easier to drive I can have fun throughout the rev range and unless I am playing I do not usually go over 4000rpm, the acceleration is linear and no surprises, comes on smooth and as hard as your right foot dictates .
-
You cannot call a car that wont go until you hit 5500 odd rpm , a street car. You cannot legally drive it anywhere on the street or highway and use it in that power range , to keep it going by the time you hit 2nd and ready for 3rd, it is time to hit the brakes ???? Having your neck snapped back when a turbo kicks in is really fun, well at first, but to drive around town in a thing "set up like that" is a nightmare. I KNOW THEY ARE ALL NOT SET UP LIKE THIS. I can only talk about what I have had experience in. As soon as you do something to make it more streetable the power becomes more linear. I cannot believe your car is like that, you would have to kill yourself after a few weeks of this mental torture of knowing you should have the car in your garage, back of a truck or on the track. The thing I like about linear power and it does not matter if it is 300kw or 500kw if your car is set up right, you can use it anywhere. You can drive it to the track and be very competitive , or have a street car that can be driven to church or Woolies and then go for a run and get the adrenalin pumping The very best thing about it, I like mine this way
