Unfortunately easier said than done. Depends sometimes on where you live I would imagine like many blokes, you buy the car first, sometimes because you like the look of them, believe the propaganda or just a spur of the moment thing, like I did !. Out of all the cars I have bought, around 25 , this "was" the biggest disappointment and I have had some heaps of shit. Whos fault, MINE I did not do my homework But now I am glad I bought it and lucky I used to have money in the bank UP THE STROKERS

All I can really say about these Skylines, is , I have come to luvem! luvem all I have seen 2.6s, 2.8s, 3.0s and 3.2s with all sorts of build specs and think they are an amazing car. Some of the builds I have followed have been sensational, some I am worried that I wont live long enough to see them finished, shit I was getting worried about mine still being in the shop when they were flushing my ashes down the brasco , lol I think it comes down to this, build your car the way you want, listen to like minded people and learn from their experience, some people might not agree with what you are doing, but that is only their opinion and not worth shit, it is your car !

GTSBoy, understand that I am only asking a question and do not want to change the way my car drives well ? When I bought my car it was aweful to drive under 5000rpm, does this mean that is how an N/A Skyline would drive or did it drive like that because of how the cams were dialled in for the bigger older T78 Turbo? Blokes talk about strokers not being able to rev the way they like it, before I built my car I had read that Nitto 3.2 strokers go over 10,000rpm , no problem, well except for wearing the engine out more quickly, maybe dropping bits on the road. I reckon with the extra torque I have now, I could put a different turbo on, like a PT7175 or EFR9180 that would still be drivable as a DD with 3.2Lt and the turbo would allow for much more top end power and would also kick in earlier compared to a 2.6Lt. So if I wanted, I would have a car that would rev the same as a 26, more torque, more HP at the same revs and can drive it as a DD without changing down a gear when you come to a slope. I have watched MANY vids of 26s on the track and love the way they sound up in the rev range and have only driven mine when it was a 26, no others, so my experience is practically ZERO and from what I have read the 26s can be sensational as a DD

Is that like sheeping looks a little like a wabbit but ewe get the idea

Is that like fisting

You can stop now, your secret is OUT, you have a Stroker ! Boring so true. cars are like Sheilas, all different but all expensive
-
haha, that is funny

XGTRX, I do not think you have to wait for your T04Z to thrash it, I think you do too much thrashing now Have you got Parkinson's or some other medical problem where you cannot control you right foot to make a responsive car drive smoothly in traffic? I have come to the opinion that you have to be joking, good one mate

They are still talking about Stroker Vs 26, they just do not agree. Hit him with your hand bag Joey I think Joey has been in enough different Rs to make an educated statement about strokers Vs 26, just do not get Piggaz started on strokers Vs 26 . Have a look at Piggaz car, stroker and a worked head. From what I can work out , you like them or you don't , you like to rev them hard or you would rather have your car working earlier. It seems you can do this with both with the right mods, but I would imagine that with extra CCs a stroker has to be a little better. Cutty, ask a few of these blokes if you can get a run in their cars. From my limited experience Dynos look impressive but until you drive them you do not get the full impact of how the car drives on the "street".

Irish is fine, haha Lots of blokes on the site that can help with most things Skyline and even if they do not know anything, they will make it up
-
Howdy Gus, "Howdy"sounds like you come from the USA but not too many Skylines there, where are you from
-
He really really really likes them, and even his dog is jealous
-
I used the Nitto 3.2 Stroker , seems pretty good so far and from what I read about them, they are a pretty good unit , all good so far, fingers X

I understand what you are saying, I was one of the blokes that bought the wrong car and it was my fault for listening to the bullshit from Phil Lee , instead of doing my homework It is good to hear some real answers to the original question. Cutty said he wants response, can a properly built 26 give him the response he is after and boost early. Sorry I have to ask, because I do not know the answers and feel sure he would like to know how to do it. From the start with my 26, it had more power than I could use, maybe I went into overkill zone with the 3.2 but I have to say, it is a joy to drive. The difference is, I can use the power in lower gears without launching it. It gets going very early in the rev range and goes to the limiter , I aked Jez, he said it is set at 7600rpm. So my car now feels good from idle to 7600, how good is that .

"I built a 26 and it is awesome" sounds great but not helpful JUST TELL HIM HOW YOU BUILT YOUR CAR, give the bloke some useful information! He is going to build the motor anyway so the $s would not be a problem either way.
-
Hold on , Cutty wants some useful info? Instead of trying to score points give him information that will help. XGTRX, give us examples of good 26s instead of argueing with anyone with a different opinion, prove your point. Show us your specs and Dyno and let Cutty know how a 26 should be done in your oppinion As I understand it Cutty wants a road car that he can drive around town or where ever and have a bit of fun when he wants to and as legal as possible. My 2 cents worth, if you want the car to feel stronger from idle, stroke it and get CCs to help with the weight of these things and get it to spool ASAP. I am sure there are 26s that will do this but you need to know how, you need some info so you can have a better chance of making your mind up and getting what you want. I think a lot of blokes do not mind a bit of lag because when it comes on, it is a BUZZ ! Now here is a chance for people with 26s that are good street cars to tell Cutty how you did it so he has a chance to see both sides of the coin. I think you can keep it legal looking with a stroker, you cannot see what is inside an engine. There will be some blokes here that can answer that, just putting ideas out there. Here are 2 Dynos the 1st was when I changed the cams and turbo on the 26 and it drove much better and I am sure there are ways to make it even better, the 2nd 3.2 stroker , both on 98 pump much better again in MY oppinion
-
That sounds great, but a 26 with BIG HP and linear sounds like a difficult thing to acheive , like to see the specs and get a look at a Dyno for a reference . Do you have anything to look at ?
-
You need to open your eyes and read what is said before you make stupid comments and put the bottle away for tonight . I said that my 26 was a heap of shit the way it was set up, but it was like that when I bought it and I did not know what a good 26 would drive like and could only give an oppinion based on MY experience. I was talking to Cutty about my car and what I did and the results achieved to give him an idea of how different set ups work. Instead of being a bully , just give him your experience and show him the results you have gotten from your well built 26, I am sure it would be more help than having a go at me and everyone could learn something from you?
-
Hi, I had a built 26 but it had an old T78-33D on it and it was so bad to drive as a Street car. I then changed the cams and turbo and it was much better, but if you had seen any of my posts you will know that I was always chasing response, I did not care about getting the BIG top end HP and revving the shit out of it, but it was what I wanted. Finally I did a 3.2 stroker and after a lot of stuffing around to get what I wanted, an R34GTR that drives the way "I" want. 974Nm @ 5250rpm , 260kw @ 4000rpm on 98 and 320kw on E85 but still going to 475kw, like yourself, E85 is hard to come by where I live . My limiter is set around 8000rpm. In my opinion, from what "you have said" and you are going to build your motor anyway, I would go at least to a 28 , or bigger. Still should be able to get your revs that you like and look the same. It is a pretty heavy car and the extra CCs help to get it going and much nicer to drive as a DD. But I have not driven a well made 26 and can only talk about my experience.

Yes he is a nice bloke, needs to slow down a bit and smell the roses Thanks for the info but I really need to start to find someone closer for smaller jobs, had enough travelling to have jobs done on the car . -

you guys, haha, BUT I can get 500kw out of it if I want , just turn it up , so no balling, and it is a word. Maybe a different word for my generation as it means crying, for you , balling could be a totally unsavoury act , not sure ? But I was not balling up to 15 minutes ago, just driving and having fun in a really well built car that goes like the clappers
