  2. Hi Mark, waters all good Just waiting for some other work to be finished in the shop, not much use leaving it there until he can work on it , maybe another week or 2. Not just the tune to do and I can still use the car while I am waiting

  4. I also do not expect any real over all power improvements. What I have is plenty. What I would like to know is, if you have your intake side retarded by 3 or 4 degrees and you advance it 3 or 4 degrees , there is 6 or 8 degrees difference, what would this do for the low end power gain at lower rpms.
  5. SORRY, it cannot be over until the " Final Tune " after this 3.2 build is finished, so hopefully, very soon Probably will not be too much KW difference but might change were it starts kicking in ?

  7. I know what you mean, I would have to drive about 200Klm to get it and it would be just about 3/4 empty when I got home. Different deal if you are doing something special with it, fill a few cans. Thats were the flex fuel sensor will come in, use it when it suites you
  8. Does most of his own work I think. He also drives in a few different competitions, Hill climb ect.
  9. I am sure they would not do anything to hurt the motor on purpose , as to why the cams are setup like that , they are the only ones that know that. Maybe they think it is better setup like that for some good reason, maybe it is, who knows ? All I have said was, the car does not drive right for the power it has, even with my setup. Maybe there is not much more to get unless I change some bolt ons , I will soon find out ? But at least I had a bloke that knows what he is talking about, look at and drive the car, then add his thoughts to my ramblings
  10. I figure I have setup, I might as well use it How does the car run on , say 30% E85/70% 98 or different combinations. If I understand it properly it would also keep your motor, plugs ect cleaner ??? So there could even be some advantages using it on a casual basis ??

It was good for me as well to get the opinion from a bloke that knows about these cars and drives hard, sort of makes me think I might get a bit more of what I want and Mick seems to think I will Would a flex tune interfere with getting the best from the 98 ? I just like the idea of trying it when I go to Sydney , Newcastle and a few other towns that have it, so ?

  16. It has no full boost at 22psi, it drops off at 4500rpm to 18.5 psi at full boost at about 7000rpm
  17. Well I did not expect you up this early, stay home ? I think there was a .6 something and was changed to the .82 or 4 ?
  18. I am calling myself a DH too, there are too many blokes that know these cars that say that I have got as much as you can out of it and it is probably true. Maybe I just watched too many Vids of 1/4s, hill climbs,track and never took any notice how these cars get going, revs ! It is still the best car I have owned to drive
  19. #2 . Paul said that before I posted these results.. Do you think the turbo is really too small if I do not care about top end, I thought it would shit it in to go 550HP ish with the cams dialed in for response. It looks like the intake cam may be retarded , that is if I understood what was said to me maybe I will find out tomorrow. The trouble is, some blokes think I am after more KWs, I only talk about it as a reference point because most do. Since I posted the first tune , most expected more KWs ( I guess I did as well but I am a beginner but I did expect it to get going earlier . Before someone tells me buy a different car! I love my R and love driving it, just want more of what I got. I probably do more Klms than most and truly get my monies worth What I find funny on forums, if you are chasing HP far beyond your mods , it is OK and blokes say just keep trying. But go for response , your a dick head for wanting it and go buy a V8. well I will go for the DH of the year award and loving it, haha
  20. Top setting was 22psi before this tune. But running on 22psi it went tits up at around 6000rpm. Now it went to 24psi @ 4500rpm before it tapered off to 18.5 @ 7000 ( I think the 381.7 kw was around 7k , the private road I used would not let me go to 7k in 5th gear, just squeezed in 4500rpm, too short) Not sure if it is actually set at 24psi, just going off what I can see on the dyno chart before it dropped off. There is no harm in having a guess at what is going on here and in about a month there might be some answers, could be better, or worse ??????

Get a life Mick,haha I just cannot help think the same and could be 100% wrong, but the psi dropping from 4500rpm ,fark it only just spooled up, think it would hit 6500rpm before taking a nose dive ? When I get the next tune maybe I will not even get the same result, it might be 350 - 360awkw, I do not care as long as the top end lose goes down to where I can play
  22. Maybe Ben, got one of the SAU blokes coming up tomorrow and want him to take it for a run and see what he thinks.. I go for a drive most days and love it, went this morning to check out the rpm to kph as it is not displayed and I did not notice the PSI drop off up to 6000rpm, just want to know why, got a few different opinions but it seems my push for answers annoys some blokes Oh, and the only thing I have ever put shit on my X builder was for, NON COMMUNICATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they are like that to the end!!!!!!!!!! hate it You know what I do if I do not like a thread, I do not read it, if no one is interested it dies without being shut down, simple
