  1. I have only one Cat name so far, Venom , what others are there to look at. or are these the better choice ?
  2. You would think they would know something about exhaust if they are in the trade ? So you would have to step it up from the back of the turbo to fit the 4" down pipe Hate farking cars
  3. I spoke to a muffler bloke this morning and he reckons 4" could stop the turbo spooling as early as it does now ?????? Just want it too run sweet , with no shit
  4. Started looking around but I think I will settle on that, there are so many different ideas on exhausts it makes my head spin
  5. Had one in now for a few months and love it after using a Quad for a DD it is a dream
  6. If I run a 4" to one of those Venom 5" and left the 3.5" exhaust system on , would that work OK ? You know I am not chasing a zillion HP, just want the farking thing to work
  7. What size is that 4" Here is the final Dyno tune , he said it had back pressure as the 3" exhaust is too small, I said he had a 3.5" fitted but it turns out only from the Cat to the tail and the down pipe was 3"
  8. Got everything X , All very frustrating , when you think they are putting the right bits in to make everything work and one keeps finding shit that is not up to the job, now the down pipe is too small Paul was saying this exhaust system should never have been built this way in the first place for this build, should have been at least 4" through to the tail. I think he said he is running twin 3" , that makes mine seem very inadequate for a 3.2 . Any other suggestions , trouble is I feel like I have spent enough and I know I should bite the bullet and go 4" , any idea what this would cost, The old one cost about $3500 including the down pipe, they just used the old 3" Cat.
  9. where down pipe clamps onto the back of the turbo it is 3" outside i diameter , this goes down to the 3" Cat, then it comes out and steps up to 3.5" exhaust Pic
  10. Surely 3.5" all the way with a free flowing Cat and Muffler should be enough for my goals, I am not chasing every last KW out of the build. I wanted a strong motor that will last as a DD and let me play when I want
  11. water=yes, rich=yes, starter motor=yes, ECU locked=yes, over the quote=yes, swap for a 6.2Lt 120Y=NO! Persistence=Time=Expensive=Happy
  12. well , the plugs get black dry fouled, blows soot out the back, back fires and farts coming down step hills, goes tits up at higher revs and smells rich, could be rich, how rich, wish I was this rich
  13. only when the motor starts You can see it splashing out the back when you press it,coughing and farting but not as bad as I thought it would. I still think it was thirstier when it was a 26 , I had to push it harder , now I get better results at lower revs, if that makes sense What is so good with it as a 3.2 is how linear it is from the start, it goes hard but feels like you have the control on the twisty bits. I think the car works great as an all rounder , but i am biased
  14. 1200HP,haha, I am just after a strong , reliable street car and if I sort the exhaust out I think they (somebody) will be able to tune it to how I want it . Went for a 400 klm run today and in my area there is some nice road to get a feeling for the mods on my drive train, went to have my AD08Rs on and the trip home was fun But it needs to be re tuned badly ! Still rich as, and does not like to be revved , but even as is , it is a fun ride Cannot wait to get this shit over with and see what I finally end up with?????
  15. why is that, it is good for over 700HP and it is nowhere near that ???
  16. In these situations it is only fair to give a company a chance to fix any problems, then if it is not done properly it is time to do whatever is needed to have the situation rectified. I do not have to be happy with everything and I have spoken to them about it and they asked me to bring the car in so they can sort it out, they cannot do more than that. So I will wait until it is all finished before I start throwing stones . The distance is my problem but it is a pain I will be asking about the exhaust today and see what they say I should do. All of the other work seems great, drive train works a treat and I can see with a few tweaks I should be happy with the car Some of the prices seemed high to me, especially the Tune and I paid over the quote but I wonder if I would be whinging if it turned out better, probably
  17. I have no idea who made my exhaust system, the builder had them do it, I will ask
  18. Thanks mate, I do not need it any louder. So if I can get rid of the 3" sections and use the 5" Venom cat , it will keep it quieter and legalish
  19. Understand, I think I will go with the Venom 500 series, 5" body, with the 3.5" inlet / outlet and have the rest modified to suit. I guess I can still use my high flow muffler One question ? what difference would a 4" exhaust system with a 5" Venom body ? hate dumping all the new shit if the difference is not noticeable
  20. get the Venom 5" cat in between ? Had a look at the Venom and they seem pretty tough
  21. I think this was another problem, there was no guidance as to what the car needs, to make the bolt ons I chose work better, maybe I would have said NO, but at least put it out there ?? I will ask them what I should do with the exhaust, then I guess I will have to try and sell the old new one Everything seems easier in 20/20
