  1. After this is over I need someone a bit closer that knows what he is doing My mob is extremely busy
  2. Thanks Josh. I have Jez's number and intend to see him after the car has been repaired. I will be finished going to Sydney.
  3. Thanks for all of your suggestions and I am taking it back to Sydney for one last time to see if they can get it all right this time:)
  4. I am 350 Klm out of Sydney But you have a look , they have a pretty good name, they have cars coming out of their butts down there, never short of work, so this is some indication that they must know what they are doing, just not in my case, haha
  5. There is no written warranty, but you cannot manufacture or preform work without the customer expecting to get what they where told they would get or paid for, otherwise it would all go POP! I have come up against this type of thing before and not worried about a written warranty on expensive work carried out on my car. There are situations where their license can be canceled for periods and can be strongly enforced.Been here with a car yard and they told me to piss off, sure I will go, like Fark! But this is not the situation here, they asked me to bring the car in again and leave it longer so they can sort it out. I do I want to go through this again and if it is re tuned as rich as they seem to like , it is only a matter of time before I am here whinging again
  6. I think I used all of my tantrums up trying to get the build done, haha Yes I know they read SAU, Paul mentioned I was being treated like a Mushroom and in an email to me, they referred to themselves as the Mushroom Farmers, I liked that
  7. Do most of your cars run a little rich , just to be safe?
  8. I think it would be lucky to hit anywhere near the 387 mark, I doubt if they could get a reading off it over 6000rpm, the graph would start looking funny from the 5000rpm reading.
  9. there must be somewhere in between, but does this rich tune make it easier for tuners not to stuff motors up ? We are only talking a day or 2 of driving, I reckon it would be well under the original tune of 386kw and this was also noticeable on the old build, you could feel it.
  10. That makes 2 of us, I am stuffed if I know what I am doing anymore. Why do they tune rich, is there some short time advantage until the plugs foul up ?
  11. I do not understand, these blokes have been doing this for a long time and have people out there that swear by there work. You would think this would be easy for them to do right in the first place I will not bore you blokes anymore and thanks for your suggestions
  12. No doubt it is rich and from my experience and what you have said they tune rich all the time. This is why they want me to change the plugs The plug change will give me an indication where the issue is.
  13. I have his number and to be honest I am farking sick of this shit. If they tune rich all the time it will be the same again if I give it back to them I will call him tomorrow
  14. Yeah Ben, 20/20 hindsight is great and I wish I had it. Being suborn can be expensive, but I usually end up with what I want I will see how this all pans out and what I want to do about it, but before I could do anything I would have to give them a chance to fix it. They asked me to bring the car back in and give them some time to check it out and fix the problem The other option is to go to a different shop and get them to sort it out, not sure about the locked ECU or if they can just scrap the old tune and just do a newbie ?
  15. More like a shit load of soot , not smoke as such. I am crook atm , I will take it to a mechanic so I have a professional opinion, it should be interesting to hear what they say. But I will have them check the plugs and if they are stuffed or not the ones you recommend I will have them follow you instructions , thanks
  16. Every work I have done with them has seemed rich and blows soot all over everything.. After my last work on the old motor, the car was driving very well, could get going at 6000rpm with no lag, after a few weeks it lost this ability and got more sluggish, but would still drive to the limiter @ 9500rpm This new problem seems a bit worse than the plugs getting dirty, drove the car home 350klm , 2 days later I did a 5k launch and it seemed OK, the next day tried at 6500rpm and the problem surfaced. They have the ECU locked, there is a mob in Port Macquarie I might try before I make my mind up to take it back.
  17. that helps mate, two great minds think alike, $1600 for a 98 tune was a good place to start , well $9k over quotes wasn't a bad start ,haha Any thoughts on using a certain plug ?? I am having a problem thinking about going back to them, I thought I was done and dusted
  18. Hi Joey, pretty frustrating and the distance does not help as I have to fly both ways, over $700 each time I leave the car there, adds up after a while Does this problem sound like the coils or the tune. He wants me to change the plugs again and I think he already knows they will fark up again, well that is if they are stuffed up now. Guess it will give him an idea what could be wrong, but it seems pointless as it has happened twice, after the first tune and after the touch up last week ? If the plugs are sooting up quickly I would think it is a tune problem, too rich. If this is the case is there a " better plug " to try, I do not want to have the plugs changed knowing they will go tits up without trying a different plug or something. They have asked me to drop the car off again and leave it there longer so they can go over it and find the water and tune/spark/whatever problem, so I guess it is back to the shop , there goes another $700 and hope for the best I will get the starter motor fix ASAP, if you were a mechanic and had just finished an expensive build and started the car and had this noise like it was still engaged once the motor had started, what would you do????? Me I would fix it!
  19. Maybe someone on this thread can tell me if my problem is coil related, build only just completed Goes well to 5000rpm ,slow or hard in any gear In neutral at a steady 5500rpm it sounds like a quick, blop blop blop sound, you can just hear it In 2nd go hard and between 6000 to 7000rpm it coughs and splatters , keep pushing it back fires a bit, blows a bit of soot In 2nd slowly build the revs to 6000 to 7000rpm and it dies, feels like the fuel has been cut off but after that ill will kick on again The new plugs were changed twice, they looked a little dirty, but ? Have Splitfire coils, they were put in the car 6 years ago but were not used for the first 5 years, only about 4000klm on them. The Mojo packs sound interesting
  20. No, I mean slowly driving up to those revs with boost instead of hitting it hard. When I was hitting it , it would back fire a little and splutter , when I did it slowly to the same revs it just went flat, like it died ? The neutral thing was strange as I took it to @ 5500 and held it there and got that other result, could not feel that when driving too/at those revs A couple of times in neutral it revved to the limiter but not freely, it would hesitate a little as it built the revs up I was just trying to get as much info as I could to give to whoever I can get to fix it, There is a bloke n Port Macquarie I might call on Monday after I see what, if anything my bloke here can do
  21. Tried something a little different to see what happens before I go to my mechanic on Monday. Wound it up slowly in 2nd, when it was between 6000 and 7000rpm it just went flat, sometimes after the flat spot, you could go past 7k and it would pick up again. Did this a few times with similar results, it did not happen at the exact revs but near enough. In neutral at about 5500rpm it would would make a quiet, blop blop blop sound, rev it up and it would die a little between 6k and 7k a few tinny pop pop pops, and then rev freely to limiter @ 8500rpm Did I mention I hate farken cars
  22. not sure the bloke here could handle the computer / ECU work ? Once he touches it my warranty is gone, that is if they will give me the password, I think it will turn into a shit fight
  23. Thanks Mick, I am going to my mechanic to have him test the car and see what he find, it is a start and if he thinks it is the coils I will get these ones
