  1. Thanks, did not want to go bling, just had black on black, looked boring, I thought it needed a bit of colour so went Machine/gloss black and I think it looks better
  2. Rims Advan RS-D 18/10+25 thought I would post a pic Tyres 255/40/18
  3. LOL ! had to take it off , too bloody ugly ,haha
  4. HAHA, all good, just a shit load of tiny cuts, well a couple were a bit bigger, needed come cotton and I did not have to worry about the motor again, the whole car was farked
  5. my worst experience was not a modification, pulled an early model (I think about 1950 ish)Fiat convertible motor down put a new head gasket on, start it up and it would run for a minute and conk out, did this 3 times until I found a tinny tube in my pocket, stuffed around and found out where it came from and away in went. Next day I went to work and on the way home a cement truck came through a stop sign and I went through a ladies brick front fence, through the windscreen and ended up on the bonnet. Got off the bonnet , the lady came out of the house, had one look at me and fainted, shit I was feeling OK until then, haha
  6. oooooooch !!!!
  7. especially if you are gunning it
  8. What are some of your experiences having mods done on your car that just did not work or help the performance Maybe you changed a Turbo or cams and your car was worse than before
  9. Does anyone have dynos before and after from stock on their 26 builds that have been taken over 500awhp but remained a 26 , not stroked Likewise a 26 that has been stroked to 28,29 or 30, before and after dynos
  10. Seems there are no compassions ? Thanks
  11. Hi Ben At this stage I am not worried about my car and I am not getting edgy, impatient would be the word I wanted more torque from the first trip home in the car, did a few changes and still wanted more, you blokes gave me enough information about 26/28,29,30 builds and I do not have to worry about it I could not find anyone with my particular mods so I am not sure exactly what I will get out of my combination. I am sure I could have used a more balanced combination, but it will be more than enough for me as a DD to put a smile on my face and scare the crap out of me if pushed, but all good. But there seems to be other opinions from blokes that keep their cars a 26 and modify from there. It also seems that a well balanced 26 goes like a bullet. So maybe a few will let me see what a good 26 can do. I know there are threads all over this Forum, but just asked the question??
  12. Come on Mick you will be leading people astray
  13. How often would you drive your car at peak HP ? I would think the best overall Torque for the best overall power.
  14. IS your build on SAU , I would like to see it
  15. haha, good one but you have to stop being so shy
  16. I know from my experience that torque down lower, built and tuned for response was better for my DD ride. It seems easier and less expensive to get good HP from a peaky car. I could have just added a new age turbo and cams to my car and would have some impressive HP as the motor was already built to take it. But too laggy for a DD. But what about on the track, drag and hill climb. Say a torquey 26/30, 450awkw =approx (600awhp) against a 26, 600awhp Peaky build. Does this mean they are the same. My car was 338awkw and peaky, change to a smaller turbo and cams only got 7awkw more but much better in every way , well for a DD. Not sure if I have given an appropriate example, I think whatever makes you smile is the winner
  17. I have been driving it for 7 years since I had the TT system, never missed a beat
  18. I put an Autotech APS twin turbo system ($17k) on my auto 350GT skyline and it flies. I cannot say for certain but I would say it is sub 5s. Pins you to the seat and keeps going through the gears. with the natural torque of the 350gt + TT, better exhaust, oil, water and tuning,Just had a mild tune to 340awhp for response
  19. I will go this Mick on this. I am building my car to what I "want" but I do "need" it to make me happy. If blokes love the sound and happy with how your car goes , that is great I have never driven a Factory R34GTR , so I have no idea how they drive, love the sound. When I bought my car the motor was worked, forged pistons and everything else in there, I would just have to add a big new tech turbo/s and cams I am sure I could have reached some impressive Dyno results, but you cannot drive the High HP Dyno results as a DD and I hated my peaky 338awkw R34GTR , did a little work and at 345awkw for response it was a car you could drive as a DD and I dare say , much faster than the extra 7awkw would imply. I "want" more response with the torque the 3.2 will give me, so RB30 with a Nitto 3.2Lt to get it and really could not care how it sounds, as long as it drives the way I want. What do think would happen with a Torquey 450awkw (610awhp) with a RB30 bottom , 3.2 stroker and built for response would go against a 610awhp peaky build , equal drivers , what car would win ??
  20. apart from the Nitto 3.2 stroker, there is a bit of head work, head relief for the cams, OS valves and clean it up a bit. But doing driveline work. If they do this work as good as the other mods they did for me I will be very happy and I know they are proud of what they do and expect nothing but the best from their blokes there I just did not expect to be this impatient, I cannot wait to get it back
  21. Surely there is more to it than that? How long for a build under normal conditions or is that like asking how long is a piece of string.
