Correct. I'm good at dodgying stuff but the real mechanical stuff not a chance. So where is the best place to go to get the parts? Autobarn etc? And should I do the lower ball joints at the same time to save labour etc?

Hey as above but was wondering if it's worthwhile staying oem or going aftermarket. Specs: Approx 200rwkw rb20det Tein coilovers Strut braces front and rear (nismo I think) Street driven, no drift or drag (except street) 18 inch wheels and tyres Needs L and R top ball joints L front inner rack end Is there maybe an aftermarket kit which has all the suspension bits so that I can change them all at once? Finally is it a fairly easy diy job and if so what tools will I need? Thanks in advance! Ps I have attached my alignment report; pretty sure it doesn't look too bad?

I've looked on the forum - my r32 gts4 uses h3 and h3c bulbs but if i want to upgrade them for the same power what are the oem units - 55W or 100W? I don't want to put too much power through them cos I know they can develop switch issues

Does anyone sell whole bolt-in headlight upgrades for r32s?

Can someone suggest an upgrade then - are the whiter/brighter light bulbs any any good. Anyone had a good result from a certain brand?

Ok thanks for the advice - I'll take them out and return them - dammit more frustration. What about for the low beams should I return them also?

Plus I saw heaps of posts with pics showing the improvement?

Isn't LED always better than 30 year old yellow bulb tech?

Hello All I've searched all over the forum but no luck. After a couple of extremely frustrating hours and all of my knuckles scraped I finally managed to swap my yellow high beams (h3 - the one with the wire - rectangular light on inside of light bank in picture). The bulb is basically a wedge with a bank of leds in each side. They seemed to fit best with the wedge horizontal in the socket. Went for a drive last night and the light is much whiter - but not focused at all: they are actually worse than my low beams now. Have I installed them incorrectly or should I never buy from eBay again? Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

Can someone please tell me the above? I live half hour out of town and no matter which one i choose ill get it wrong? I have searched thoroughly and i know everyone says h3 but ive looked t o buy upgrades and theres a 55W or 100W option? Im assuming its 100W but Murphy is an arsehole. Also does tge light s spread ok if i go to LED on the high beam?

Ok thank you, it's just most of the posts advise that the original hose will be extremely hard to remove?

Hey All I'm about to do the above but had a few questions that I can't find the answers to: - where is the fuel pump/relay I need to remove to bleed the lines? - do I need high pressure 5/16 fuel line and if so how much? Im not even going to bother trying to remove existing will just cut it - best places to cut the top and bottom fuel lines please? - will I need any adapters and/or fittings to install the new lines? I know there are a few threads but nothing really specific, and no tutorial?

Another stupid question. I have searched a lot thinking it would be easy but I'm sick to death of reading where to put the jack. I have a 89 r32 gts4 with what appears to be oem scissor jack behind pass. Side trim panel. I can't find where the handle goes, perhaps I am missing some clips or something? Anyone?

Hello All, Probably a stupid question but I can't find any relevant info anywhere. I saw a thread about a guy having similar problems and he removed the plug base (which has 4 screws) which revealed dry joints. This made sense to me and he shows pics but here is my drama - when I pulled the plug base off the plug terminals were desoldered from the afm pins (doh). To resolder I have to remove the top of the afm but there are no screws only a silicon type bead? Does this mean to remove the top I won't get it back on? I can't believe there is nothing on here about this - any help would be much appreciated!

I know you're all groaning but read on and you will at least get where I'm coming from. Rb20det. Idle issues. Fuel efficiency issues. Car runs like a lada niva issues. Starting issues. Engine power cutting issues. All intermittent (some can be for months, some for minutes, some disappear forever without me changing a thing). All of varying degree. Smiling yet? My question is when and why to reset ECU? Should it be done after any component is replaced like regapped plugs and even air conditioning compressors and if not when? These are not upgrade parts I'm talking just straight replacements that you're hoping has failed (like I'm hoping mine is afm). Should it be done as a ctrl-alt-del troubleshoot BEFORE I start blaming parts or can it irretrievably make things worse?

Yup so the wire is a ground either way? Why would it be shielded?

Hello All, Currently dealing with very frustrating rb20det intermittent power loss issue. It is the afm/plug/white wire second from the left when looking towards firewall. I know this cos every time the car stutters I pull over, jiggle it and its fine for a while/day/week. I had some time today so peeled back the wire shroud and came across this (Pls see pic). I have read the manual/wiring diagrams but not sure why it's externally earthed and is this the way it should be? How do i connect a replacement afm plug? Wire looks oem- has some letters A S S S H? On them? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Haha good to know! I have a dodgy atm plug atm; every 2nd or so time I drive it I have to pull over and jiggle it cos otherwise it will randomly lose power. Very annoying
