If these new jumpers are better quality why did we not go with them to start off with? I agree, make a quick choice and get these hoodies on our backs! (or around the waists for the gender challenged)
-
Got (getting) the SAU hoodie, hopefully getting a actual Skyline soon (my car is sold, looking now), then just need the SAU windscreen sticker and I'm set! Whats the deal with those stickers anyway? PS: This is wicked guys thanks.
-
Damn, that sucks. Oh well hopefully it goes through soon enough, can't wait! Was it 10 days from yesterday till they arrive? Whens the Cafe' Villis collection meeting?
-
Uhh Adrien I used Netbank to transfer the $50 immediately after I posted. I took a screen shot of the receipt page just in case, do you need me to send it to you? It may not go through immediately though, but I definitely paid. If there's any issues please let me know, Tom.

Just a quick question, I spose many of you guys feel the same, but I'm selling my AWD Auto Subaru Liberty and want to get a Skyline. Dads not letting me get a turbo and I have persisted but only got yelled at some more. His excuse is 'you never know when the turbo will kick in and throw you sideways'. Thats about it. 'It would be irresponsible of me to let you get a turbo', 'Not at 17 years old' and all that stuff. Is there any hard facts about this that can be to my advantage? Stock boost does crap all? You can't feel it? etc etc. He'd let me get a non turbo R33 (140kw) but not a turbo R32 (158kw). 'The disk brakes on the R32 explode and they're generally the worst one of them, the R33 is the pick of the bunch'. Any common problems the non turbo has that the turbo doesn't? This is concerning both R32 and R33 models. And for anyone saying how I'm going to be irresponsible and all this stuff, I've had this drilled into by my Dad more then enough. When I go driving with my mates I tell them not to speed and don't care if they get ahead of me. They do stupid stuff and I know who's car not to get into. Even complaining to my sister she reckons I'm the most responsible 17 year old she knows. Ask Kahli on here for some backup, she knows how I drive. Thanks for any replies, but this is something I really want (I've already bought a car that was 'alright I guess' but not what I want. I don't wanna do the same again). Plus if I get a non turbo, my mates have already got a nick name lined up for me

The car I am looking at only has Rays Gram Light wheels, Tein Coilovers and a Blitz exhaust, oh and a 7 inch, foldable DVD screen in the console. Everything else is stock. Is there any requirements with the tyres? I heard somethign also about globes or bushes on some cars.

I'm in the same boat. Instead of starting a new thread I'll ask here. I'm looking at buying a fresh import from Victoria. It has a RWC but no rego. I was thinking of letting the owner rego it in Vic so we can drive it back then transfer the rego to my name. So if any major issues arise, he will deal with them (like defects/requirements). Once its here I can go to Sturt for ID check then get it rego'd here?

Hey everyone, Well its time to sell my car. It's my first car and now I want to get something else. I am only the 2nd owner of this car, the first being my step-grandma. The family had 2-3 cars and this was her run-about car. I bought the car a year and a half ago at 119, XXX km's and it currently has 123, XXX km's. For me its simply got me to school and work and mates places. The longest drives I've done was once to Normanville (1 hour-ish) or Victor Harbour (1 hour-ish). Make: Subaru Model: Liberty, Heritage Year: 1991 KM's: 123,XXX Colour: Maroon Transmission: Auto Drive: AWD History: Family car, 2nd owner Rego: September 08 Mods: None Location: South Australia Overall condition: The body and paint work is not perfect, as it is a 17 year old car. There are a few minor dents and scratches, but mainly from shopping centre carpark. The interior is very good. The leather has no major cracks in it and only one very small rip/tear in the drivers seat from simply getting in and out. The dash has no cracks. Mechanically the car is good. There is a small 'clunk' in the front right suspension but has not caused any trouble since I've owned it. The engine runs smoothly. The car was in a small front end collision with the previous owner. This has been repaired and causes no issues at all. Other comments: The car has a CD player with an AUX plug, so you can plug your iPod in. The standard Clarion speakers give awesome sound quality, considering its stock. Its got a huge boot and the back seats fold down so you can fit even more stuff in. To be honest, this liberty is a stand out. My mate got a '94 and even all of our friends say mine is a lot better. It was a luxury model so it comes with the electric windows, sunroof, leather, electric mirrors, AWD, etc etc. Its been an awesome car to me and I have always taken care of it since I've owned it. The only issues I've had was the air conditioning belt snapped and the spare tire is currently in use as I got a flat. Both of these problems will be fixed for the sale. Pics, these are a bit old but due to the rain I can't get good pictures. When it clears up I will wash the car and take better pictures. Sorry but these are the only interior shots I have at the moment. I took these when I purchased the car: Price: I am looking for $5,500 or near offer. Contact: My name: Tom Comley Email: T.Comley @ hotmail.com Mobile: 0434 467 432 Call between 3:30 and 5 on mondays Any time after 3:30 on tuesdays, after 2:30 on wednesdays, and after 3:30 on thursdays Between 2:30 and 4 on fridays Any time on the weekend. SMS any time and I will get back to you. Sorry for the tight schedule, but I can't answer the phone at school or work. Thanks for looking, Tom.

May have also spotted a white R33 behind it. My mate went with Kahli and met up with George. Spotted a W I D E silvia, S13, at the Brighton Caltex on Brighton Road, near Brighton High. Didn't get a good look as I was ging past, but it was wide, low, and had 2 crack pipes. Was black, too. At about 5PM, give or take an hour.

I'm back, still gotta organise some stuff and might go RC drifting tonight, but I'll start reading today. Just a quick word, Steve those photos of the Liberty are actually (I believe) a combination of at least 3 photos...per photo. Its called HDR (High Dynamic Range or something). You get an underexposed shot, an over exposed, and a perfect exposed, and combine them. The result is a shot with everything right (no bright bit or no dull bits). They look cool though. Unless...they may have used a long exposure and shone a light over the car (someone probably saw me try this over the black GTR's engine bay with my iPod). Either way, pretty cool. EDIT: Just read a quick comparison, it seems the 5D has a better image quality and has 3MP more over the 40D. The 40D does have a built in flash but the 5D does, both have hot-shoes so you can put a flash in. They look and feel very much the same, though I think the 40D has a slightly larger LCD screen and 2nd screen shows the ISO at all times - can be handy. Really the 5D seems the better for image quality and the important things, but the 40D has the 'bells and whistles'...which actually do make things a little bit easier. Click here for a direct comparison. Some people are suggesting waiting for the next model (either 5DII or 7D) as the 5D is now close to 3 years old. Though the best way is to go into the camera shop, hold both, use them, have a look through the menu's, and talk to the shop assistant about the pro's and con's or each camera. Hope it helps!

Well, its morning and I'm about to leave, thought I'd check as I saw you reading this topic last night. Don't know a lot about Canon, but I know that the 450D is really just a later, refined model of the 350D. Sure, its going to be better and all...but you're still going to be sitting inside that amateur circle. The 40D and or 5D take things outside that circle and into the pro field. www.dpreview.com offer some pretty good reviews and www.pbase.com/cameras is a great resource for user reviews and photos of all cameras. I can only suggest doing a lot of research and testing before spending any money. I learned this the hard way. I'll have a closer lkook at the 40D and 5D when I get home. Tom.

Just a quick notice, I am going away until thursday so this will probably be my last post until then. Any questions or PM's will be answered when I return. Thanks for all the positive feedback though, makes it all feel so much more worth it. Tom.

Pete, rarely do I up the ISO in my camera, as anything above 100 gives huge amounts of noise (its a problem with my model). White balance is beyond me, so I leave it as is. I don't always use full manual mode, if I want a specific feature in my photo (such as streaked lights or blurred background) I will generally use either aperture priority or shutter priority, depending on what I want. It automatically selects a suitable value for the aperture/shutter (for which ever you are not setting yourself). But In shutter priority the exposure time is limited to 8 seconds, and only in manual mode can I extend this to a maximum of 60 seconds. I mainly used a wide open aperture to allow more light in, giving me the ability to use a shorter (although still long) exposure time, which I really only do to make it easier to move from car to car and reduce the possibility of me bumping the camera or the tripod slightly moving. If I were to close the aperture and increase the sensitivity, I could shoot the same exposure, but with the benefit of a closed aperture (longer depth of field). For example, if I want a night shot looking over a highway or city, and I wanted everything in focus, as far as I could see, I'd set a high aperture value (smaller hole). Doing so would under expose the image, so you either increase the ISO or leave the shutter open for long. So really, the ISO is just a backup if you want to do something that gives an under exposed image, but you don't want to sacrifice shutter sped or aperture. Hope this help, I kind of dribbled on a bit, photography can be hard to explain. Tom.

You got email Luke!

The ISO is the overall sensitivity to light, and I don't think it has anything to do with focus. The lower ISO, the less sensitive but the less grainy, so better quality. The higher, the more sensitive but also more grainy. I think you're talking about depth of field? The aperture determines how much of the photo (distance wise) is in focus. It also effects the amount of light entering. A higher value gives a smaller opening in the camera, which also gives a long depth of field (most of the shot in focus). A smaller value gives a large opening (more light) but means little of the shot is in focus, or, a blurred background (like most sport photos where the player is in focus, but the crowd is not). I only used auto focus, where I could set on a 9-point grid what I wanted in focus. Just a quick lesson on photography for everyone. Wait, didn't I read somewhere that you were into photography Madaz? Did I read your post wrong?
-
Steve, thats the one pic that worked out of about 100 or more that I was stickign my camera out the window for. I was using manual mode with about half a second exposure times, and a wide open aperture.
-
Were you the guy with the big long black coat on? With the red skyline LED's? I can email you a full res of this if its the right one. Just decided to do them free after I send a PM to somone saying I'd charge Oh well if he replies' I'll say they're free. Tom. PS: Sucked how the Lofty carpark was shut lol.

One thing that REALLY fckd with my head was the random person stationary on a push bike in the hills...at 2AM about 10 minute drive from anywhere...with nothing but a blinking red bike light. I wonder what was in the bag they had. Should go back during the day and look for human body remains/shallow grave. ....maybe I'll stay home. Pete I was using a Panasonic Lumix FZ30. Nothing special, just an advanced handy cam (its no DSLR). Exposures ranged from 1 minute (shot outside Kahli's house with light trails) to just a few seconds. I think the exif data is actually on photobucket, but most shots were either 5-8 seconds or 20-30 seconds...depending on the conditions.

Wicked cruise Kahli, had heaps of fun! Can't wait to get a car that fits in haha. Got a fair few photos, almost all of the photos I took hanging out the car failed though. Post up later, resizing and editing out number plates now.
