  1. Well done mate, that's fantastic. I also prefer using DBs but mainly because my gym does not have a free weight bench press. Yeah I know.
  2. Definitely prefer the York one for what you want it for, you'd definitely find those leg extension pads getting in the way. Dunno why they're only rated at 200 but the fact it says 'user weight' makes me think they have factored in the use of some weights on top of the user weight... what weight exactly, who knows? But 200 is stuff all. And Dan I wouldn't put it past yourself to bench more than 100 in the near future, if you're 86kg youre pretty much the same weight as me and I can bench that but don't consider it to be at all a strong bench figure.
  3. TTT I did flat bench for yonks with only occasional incline work. Had decent depth in the pecs but lacking a lot near the clavicle / pec major... I found doing a lot of volume on incline work over the past 2-3 years helped bring that out, a lot. With decline, I don't notice the effects as readily, but I find it is good for balancing out the incline work as well as finishing off the chest routine as I find them easier to do.
  4.    No worries Dan. I'm in a similar situation. Definitely recommend incorporating incline in your setup / routine. Decline as well if possible. Agree on seeing the equipment before buying. Have bought a cheap bench setup way back and the welds holding the seat (split seat/backrest) to the frame snapped. POS. If you can I would shell out more to get a decent build, it will last longer, feel better to use (sturdier, fewer problems like cable sheathing crapping out, frames bending etc) and you should get some form of resale out of it as well
  5. Awesome pics Colin!
  6. I assume you can move those rack pins to the inside of the rack, otherwise it looks like if you stuck any heavy barbell on those rack pins, the whole thing would fall over. Would definitely look at an adjustable bench, I'd love one for home, ideally so you can do decline as well. You mean you've never done incline bench Dan?
  7. Congrats to the new owner! I've seen the brace in person and the workmanship is fantastic. It is expensive for a brace, but that is the going rate for these things - check out the Yahoo Japan auctions and you'll see the older style ones like Terry's going for around $3K. With regard to the label thing, The black label / red label remark is just a reference to the logo on the top of Terry's style of Nismo brace; his label is black; the "red label" is just the later Nismo logo which has the red "rising sun" for an "O". AFAIK the brace itself is no different. Bobby's brace like he said is supposed to only be available for cars that were built in the Omori factory, and there was a choice between two labels, a black one that said Omori Factory and the Nismo logo. It's just a coincidence that these labels also happen to be either black or red. You can find details on them here / http://www.nismo.co.jp/omori_factory/original_menu/ttb/index.html As EM1 said it's also aimed at people who have either got every other mod on their car, or are happy with every other mod on their car, or both. So it's a finishing piece and it's not going to be for everyone, but it does really set the engine bay off very nicely.
  8. Seconded. Also found Andrew's talk highly informative without feeling like someone was asking for my wallet. My car has a Nitto oil pump fitted as a result of research done into the N1 pump which originally came with the car.
  9. Thanks to everyone at JEM and the execs at SAU for organising! Was a fantastic night, covered a lot of bases and such a variety of topics. Bobby's new project is absolutely incredible in person. Can't wait to spot it at the local Coles sometime soon! Edit - great photos guys!
  10. Very cool Aiez, Nice job!
  11. Yep I'd love one But I also miss my PIMP mobile. She's now in the great Oktoberfest in the sky. Sorry, should be posting photos from this month. Need to get the cam out.
  12. Here C. Thibeaudeau is doing his own variation but it's still a hack machine
  13. Yup. (My old 328Ci). Nice shots Aiez!
  14. I was thinking something similar , but thought maybe it was moisturiser... Hack squatting or leg press might put less strain on your ankles? Went to a chiro for a while, he was a good one as well (did xrays at the start, talked me through analysis on the comp screen etc) but after a while got the feeling that the adjustments were not doing that much and seemed like there was a gameplan geared to get me going back there until the end of time, i.e. no defined end point.
  15. Great movie Cheers mate. 7 had a more relaxed, cruiser feel to it and I always loved the design, but yeah I'm definitely still happy with the 3!
  16. Foam roller might help a bit if the problem is muscular. I use it a lot on my legs / hip flexors, t-spine stretch etc and find it helps a lot. Before you even mentioned shoes I was going to suggest you consider what you're using when doing squats or deads. Changing from regular cross trainers to hard, flat soled shoes made an immediate difference to my squatting. Felt so much more secure. I used to get bad hip flexor / TFL pain when doing squats and much of that was because my legs were so tense trying to stabilise the weight. It's not completely gone but it's better. Pendlay Do-wins or similar would be better still but with the amoutn of Oly lifting I do I can't justify the cost for shoes I wouldn't wear anywhere else. I am sure I lean forward a bit too at the lowest part of my squat, it's probably that it feels like the weight is going to fall off backwards (even though that is unlikely) and you instinctively try and move it forward. Maintaining tension in the abdominals and core is also so important in squatting and DLing, so I am learning.
  17. Haha yeah! I suppose it is a bit like the first scene in The Transporter Miss that car So many great buildings in Melbourne, wasn't hard to park up almost anywhere and have a good backdrop.
  18. Pretty much same for me these days, next day DOMS after legs. Banged out 3 sets of 1RM DLs today 180kg, 4 plates, so stoked!
  19. Old photo from when I picked up my old beast down in Melbourne.
  20. props for dedication mate
  21. No idea mate and personally I wouldn't want to offer my broscience and screw you up even more... What's the physio say? 3-4 a week for squats = sounds pretty full on! You'll be getting doms for at least a day or two after each heavy squat session yeah?
  22. Sounds like a good leg session Yeah, same, his biceps are too big to bend arm at elbow Universal Torrent straight after evening workout, is higher in carbs than protein go home to have steak and some prawns maybe, plus steamed veggies and maybe a small portion of pasta depending on what carbs I had earlier in the day.
  23. Loved Bigger Stronger Faster. Love it when Gregg Valentino is in a restaurant eating a steak with his hands...
