We actually know another Steve, of Steve's Auto Barn at blackheath; he owns a BB with white LMGT4s and plates ORSUM. Great looking car, but been ages since Ive seen it. Here it is! And here's Chris's. Yeah it's nice.

Haha. If that middle pic I posted is anything to go by, and with my nitpicking cap on, that paint match is atrocious. Can't say that I wouldnt have that car though! I seem to remember there being a thread floating around SAU or maybe another forum a while back when someone was inspecting a BB BNR34, suspected rear damage due to paint not matching at the rear; pics were posted, vendor got involved, accusations were made that pics were doctored, got to the point where someone actually used image-doctor detection software to tell if the image was shopped... All this bru-haha when it's quite possible that the paint just came that way from the Nissan factory??
-
Agree BB would look great with 19" LMGTs but I have seen a few BB 34s that are a bit flat, or have mis-matching panels - look again closely at the Mines' one above; differences between tail lights and boot / bumper... the paint really needs to have been looked after (not faded; regularly polished and a good wax used) to give its best IMO. Then, it really stands out.

Yeah this. It's some new division of the IFBB right? The rules actually stipulate the wearing of long board shorts which is a bit laughable for anything BB related in my opinion. But getting back to Birds goals, while he might want to train legs for proportion / strength / speed, etc, the goal of looking good for the chicks can equate to less emphasis given to legs as a lot of girls don't find huge legs or a huge ass (through squats / DLs etc) that attractive!
-
Yeah. Turns out it's a bit of a misnomer. Read a bit of TNation and other BB sites, I learned that those comps are not even well regulated from a testing point of view; contestants are subjected to random tests and are not even accompanied to the toilet / told to remove clothes to make sure they are not substituting samples Gattaca-style.

Pretty much what I said above. A lot of the puffiness would depend on what they're on though and what phase they're in; those guys are probably just holding a lot of water. Generally from my understanding most gear will cut you up as well as adding mass. One issue though is that gear will result in a lot of muscle growing all over the body not necessarily in the 'correct' or classic proportions (if that is of any concern, which to the typical user it probably isn't). E.g. Delts and traps will grow significantly larger than a size that is achievable without assistance; these muscle groups are designed to be a relatively small. While genetics will play a part in determining one's muscular proportions (as well as imbalances in the routine), shoulder and traps are one area that is commonly used to spot a user at a glance

Haha love the analogy with NOS Maybe if NOS resulted in acne-like rust spots appearing on the paintwork of the car people wouldn't do it!

Don't apologise. Looks brilliant, do it

We got played! Terry's N1 has a Z Tune front bar on it btw. So I take it this is someone else's car with your number plate on it?

I think that thing turns heads wherever it goes!

+1, still requires work. Don't know what to make of those blokes you see though, that have an impressive upper body but chicken legs, and you'll see em when you come in and then when you're about to leave they are still doing what they were doing 45 min ago, i.e. doing curls with 12kg dumbbells, chatting away to their mates, or posing in front of the bathroom mirror. Good genetics I suppose; push a needle, lift stuff-all weight, and still get 'big' without doing the real hard yards.
-
Man you got all of that done in no time at all! New rims, Nismo front bar, V.spec II bonnet, side skirts, and a detail!! Looks amazing mate! Btw, I'm normally pretty good at guessing what cars are from a little snippet, but what is that parked next to the 34? Looks like something American (GM)?

Toyota (and Subie) are expecting owners to modify it. But you raise a good question on the extent to which this would affect the factory warranty. I rate Evo UK. I don't particularly rate Jethro Bovingdon though. Prefer to read Catchpole, Metcalfe, Meaden, Harris (when he was working for Evo) and Needell, from the same publication. Evo's much better than the other major UK mag - CAR - in my opinion. What bugged me though was that they chose (or were maybe forced to use) the automatic. Yes, modern autos are a whole heap better at transmitting power than the equivalent manual, but through Toyota's own admission, the 0-100 time drops from something like 7.6 to 8.3 seconds. In a car where the power is already under question for the manual version, testing the auto is only going to exacerbate this weak point. The other point to take into consideration is that the BRZ suspension was tuned for stiffer front and softer rear springs, while the 86 will have proportionally a stiffer rear and softer front which should lend itself to a slightly more oversteery character. It will probably be very subtle, but a move in the right direction for the 86 compared to the BRZ they tested, anyway. Subaru apparently did this to dial in slightly more 'stability', no doubt to better-match the rest of their product range which is all about stability and grip.

Without artificial assistance you mean Mitch? Seem to see a whole bunch of huge teenage blokes in the gyms these days, partly they're starting at an age where their T is at a peak, but mostly a whole lot of them would be on the gear. Interesting article in the SMH not long ago; not really 'news' , but interesting nonetheless - the 'steroid vacation' to Thailand: http://www.smh.com.a...0526-1zblt.html

Something we would look at for sure; but it's very low volume compared to the likes of Mazda 3 so wouldnt make much of a dent. But at that price point there will be plenty of people having a look who would ordinarily not be able to consider it due to price; e.g Maz 3 SP25 buyers, Kia Cerato Koup, Hyundai Veloster, Ford Focus XR5 (no longer sold), etc and potentially a lot of people who wouldve bought a near-new car but could now afford a brand new 86. Will see what subaru release the BRZ at...

Brilliant. Love it!

I can see where Toyota/Subaru are coming from with the light weight and modest power output; but if the thing struggles up a mountain with a passenger and moderate amount of luggage in the boot I'd say they'd gone a little too far in the low-power direction. Evo was not very flattering with their review...

Website for digital media / comms company? Oh I think I get it, never mind

Well done Troy. And agree on the incline bench, worked really well for me for the upper pec area including the part where they join the delts. Didn't seem probable to me initially, because the pec muscle is just pec major / minor; but I can vouch that incline work has been brilliant for giving more upper chest shape.

Nick, Disagree about *all* new cars looking the same, I don't reckon the 86 looks much like anything else except the BRZ... And I saw a red 370Z pull up while I was walking the other day and thought "ooh that looks alright!" But I agree that regulations and aerodynamics mean that many mainstream cars (generally hatches and sedans) end up looking very similar resulting in designers feeling the need to add too many fussy details.

The fact that the Gazoo Racing 86 one-off is able to fit both a s/c and turbo under what appears to be a standard-height bonnet bodes well for later turbo ugrades.. Have no idea the long term durability implications of this setup though, particularly with airflow / under bonnet heat in a small-ish engine bay and the turbo being at the front (at least in the GR setup from memory).

Here we go - price has been announced on Toyota Aus's Facebook page this morning: Bit of a bargain I'd say.
-
It is a Subaru engine, built by Subaru. Toyota 'donated' the direct injection technology /design, that is what Subaru is getting from it and Toyota were very sheepish in giving it over. The whole thing is a joint effort; Subaru are building the cars at their factory and did most of the engineering but Toyota did the design and provided much of the cash. TMC is the largest single shareholder in Subaru. At work, we'll be testing the commercial for the 86 next week or thereabouts, so mid June launch sounds about right. From what I hear, the price might be a bit lower than some are expecting, and it's unlikely that Subaru will be able to match Toyota's price. The Subie will probably be positioned as more of a premium offering but it's unclear how they will add value, as the BRZ is meant to be identical to the 86 except for suspension tune, front bumper, badging and exhaust tips. Probably with additional features from the options list / high end 86, such as bi xenons, LSD, sat nav and high grade interior.
