Great photos mate! ...linked from MadKent's photostream: -
No worries Sav. Saw it at the Pie run some months ago; certainly gets attention! Coming on the Pie run this weekend? I have some 20" GTCs that I'm selling; but I'm tossing up as to whether to keep them as 'occasional' rims. I think they're too big though. But here's a pic of my car with virtually identical rims to the ones I've got (slightly different offset on front here) Apologies for picture quality

Well silica would be derived from sand, so I can see that connection; the breath is probably just Japlish? Better than "Colour giving the super happy special deluxe feeling"?

No worries mate. Yeah I usually use one of those electronic scales (which are notoriously inaccurate but okay if using for longitudinal measurements to track fat % over time), so went home that day and got a measurement off my scales so I could say "13.3% via body scan = 19.0% using POS scales". Then I might be able to apply that ratio in future. I gotta say, after doing some cutting, you look at yourself and see some abs coming through and go "I'm never letting these disappear again". Only to go and polish off a bag of chips a few hours later

Good way to find out is by getting a DEXA scan (essentially an x-ray with body composition results). It's good to get a benchmark figure before you plan on doing a particular routine for the year for example. I got one done in Sydney at MeasureUp (was $85 for just the scan or $150 for a consultation) but there's one in Hawthorn for you Melbourne boys as well. Sydney - MeasureUp Melbourne - BodyScan I ended up being 13.3% body fat, which I was reasonably happy with, but room to improve... It'll tell you individual mass and composition of limbs as well. Scan itself took about 5 minutes flat.

Straight pipes apparently, but you can pretty much just skip to 2:20 and it sounds amazing. -

Yeah best sound to my ears (but I'm going off what they sound like from outside the car, not inside ) From what I've heard, sound-wise; F355 > 360 > 458 > F430. To me the 430 sounds really 'flat' and lacks that crispness of the smaller flat crank V8s -
Haha "If you're going to drive that thing past us, at least have the decency to drop it back and floor it!"

That sucks. Get a skateboard? Mate just got one recently, novice to begin with but reckons he's improving and helps to fly from A to B short distances (e.g. across campus). If the gym is too far from home / uni, try and find a park that has some gym apparatus, or even a playground section! Do some pushups (incl incline, which means raising your feet; if there's a swing you can put your feet up on that which will also work on your stabilising core muscles), chin ups, monkey bars, etc. This would act as a good break for you, and also get you some fresh air and endorphins which would actually help to sustain you with all the brain work

Yeah I forget what the name of the origanisation is but I ran into that group going through the National Park once. I was in the R34; but the Minis at either end weren't letting any of the drivers in between have much of a play. Very docile cruise. It's kind of beyond me why you'd spend almost $1000 on renting a car for the weekend if you can't at least give it a good blat, or drive it further than Stanwell tops.

New Ferrari F12 Supercar Revealed

I am with you there 10 4; the F355 is still my favourite modern Ferrari even though most people I say this to reckon it's so dated. I think as far as pure *design* goes it is leagues ahead of the 360 and 430; despite the fact there are some 'dated' styling cues like the pop up headlamps, the proportions are bang on to my eyes, whereas the 360 looked a bit 'fat' and plain strange from some angles (mostly the rear three quarter). Challenge Stradale went a long way to rectifying that by slamming the chassis and adding a more aggressive front spoiler. As Shaun said also, it seems as though some of Ferrari's designs are 'different' for the sake of being different; reminds me of the late Bangle philosophy (not the designs themselves but the idea that you have to do something out there just to be noticed and move the design paradigm on; without the resultant design necessarily being in proportion or aesthetically pleasing in the traditional sense) -
Kind of on that note, have just been trying Universal Torrent as my new post-workout. It seems to be delivering the goods, except it does have 52g of carbs and 20g protein, theory being that (fast-absorbed) carbs are more important immediately post WO than protein. If I have GENR8 Vitargo during my WO as well, that's another 70g of carbs taking my total intra / post WO to 120g of carbs! Bit much on a cutting diet. Seems to be better using only ~2 scoops of the Torrent instead of 3, and maybe 1 scoop of Vitargo instead of 2.

Most of what I've read about what you should eat when sick (depends on what you've got though) revolves around BRAT - bananas, rice, apples and toast, and stuff like that; especially if you've got the runs. Unfortunately that's a fair bit of carbs and you'd want some protein in there as well (as you've hinted at). I think the protein shakes aren't a bad idea, but lay off the milk if you usually use that as a mixer. I just mix my powder with water so that's fine. I've been told to stay away from dairy when I've been sick as it can help feed bacteria in the gut. Sugar is also a definite no no as it'll feed the lurgy as well. I'd also try and eat a lot of vegetables (if it's hard to eat solid meals, boil em up till they're softer) as the veg is like very light carbs, will act as fibre and help to slow down peristalsis (movement as part of digestion in the gut) and of course they are very nutritious... Veggies are great for that reason even when you're not sick; they stave off your apetite which is great if you're on a cutting routine. And I think most of what you'll lose is water weight through dehydration, so you should get most of that back when you get better. Even so, must keep your water intake up when you're sick to help flush out all the crap. If the water is luke warm it will also help to relax a sore throat.

Quite a step up in power and handling (Fiorano time, 0-62mph) over the 599... Looks-wise I like it so far. From the rear it looks a bit like it's wearing a bikini or something though! Was never really a massive fan of the 599 shape to be honest, 550 / 575 looked a lot better to my eyes. -
Sounds good! Where did you place the mic?

What are you buying on eBay now Bob

Was waiting for this one to turn up... Looks awesome in person!

Sorry to hear about this mate. Glad the RRR block is okay though

Sweet! Weird ways chocolate keeps you healthy By Mara Betsch 13/02/2012 1. Chocolate may help you with math. Flavonols, compounds in chocolate with antioxidant-like properties, are thought to improve circulation, including blood flow to the brain. A 2009 study asked participants to count backward in groups of three from a number between 800 and 999. After drinking hot cocoa filled with flavonols, the participants were able to do calculations more quickly and accurately and were less likely to feel tired or mentally drained. 2. Chocolate fills you up. Moms have forever warned of spoiling dinner by eating a treat beforehand. Turns out they were right. Danish researchers gave 16 participants 100 g of either dark or milk chocolate and 2 hours later offered them pizza. Those who consumed the dark chocolate ate 15% fewer calories than those who had milk chocolate, and they were less interested in fatty, salty, and sugary foods. 3. Chocolate makes you feel better. Chocolate contains phenethylamine, which triggers the release of endorphins. This reaction is similar to the one that people experience when they fall in love. Don't believe us? Doctors at the Mind Lab in England asked six couples to let squares of dark chocolate melt in their mouths and then kiss, all while hooked up to brain and heart monitors. Both tasks made participants' hearts pound and brains buzz, but chocolate doubled excitation rates in the brain's pleasure center during the kiss, especially in women. Cocoa's blend of sugar and caffeine produces a longer-lasting high, according to researchers. 4. Chocolate helps you relax. Reach for a Hershey bar when you're stressed? There's a biological reason for that. Studies have shown that chocolate contains the compound anandamide that activates the same brain receptors as marijuana. No wonder a bite brings on bliss. 5. Chocolate may help you live longer. A study in the British Medical Journal found that candy consumption can help you live longer—almost a full year longer!—than those who abstain from the sweet stuff. Participants who ate candy one to three times a month had the lowest mortality rates of the group, and researches postulate this may be due to the antioxidants in chocolate. A 2009 study also found that heart attack survivors who ate chocolate were less likely to die than those who went without. Stick to a one-ounce serving to get your fix without wrecking your waistline.
