  1. I guess that beyond a certain 'thinness' the undercoat would start showing through? Sounds to me like 80 doesn't leave much to work with in terms of detailing!
  2. mmm I got to see the pics of your micrometer on his car
  3. I actually start to feel my IQ lowering when I am forced to watch these shows
  4. One of the first things I did to my R33. Makes a huge difference!
  5. In the calendar! Thanks Sean and Dave. I would bring the 7 series but it probably won't make it through the gorge hairpins.
  6. Hey scott, I'll send you a PM. Cheers, Matt
  7. Holy crap, that procedure sounds shocking. Better buy some less neck-snapping cars then? Seriously though I hope it all goes well for you. I get the occasional neck problem and have had to see physios before, but hopefully I can avoid anything like the surgery route in the longer term. Hey Huy! Thanks mate
  8. That's no good mate. Hope you get better soon! Did you at least get injured doing something fun?
  9. I realise it's not the most imaginative combo (LMGT4 + R34) but it's one I've always loved, and I was fortunate enough to have the oppotunities converge. I've got to thank Terry Ashwood for being the first owner to look after the car. The man is no stranger to maintaining a special car (or seven). Kept all documentation in check. And massive thanks to Nick N who was the owner before me; used to own "JUN", the worked ADM BNR32. Couldn't have been a more enjoyable or smoother handover process, and he and his family helped us load up all the parts into our van (loaned to us by Todd at Japlink). C'mon guys, would like to hear some more about who other guys would like to thank for their cars! Thanks RPWR
  10. We might need to rename this thread to "Yin and Yang"! Apologies for the rubbish photo quality and the backdrop (looks like the cars are in a wildlife park!)...
  11. Still, i'm so impressed by how smooth those shots look mate . Nice stang too!
  12. Okidoki... Japlink helped out with the compliancing on both of these cars for me. When I brought the bimmer in, Todd said "why'd you buy that piece of sh*t" before doing the ident check and giving it the ok. I think it was a affectionate term...?
  13. Here is the front spoiler and lip that Terry is talking about on our previous R34 GT-R. Couldn't fault it. As long as you take care going over driveways and dips not to damage it, the fibreglass should be a good enough substitute given the coin outlay.
  14. Um.. only like a week! Haha, sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake there! Put me down as a maybe mate, I may have a fair bit on then. I'll get back to you via PM. Cheers, Matt
  15. That's not very nice! Seriously though, top work mate That moon aint real though right?
  16. You can chock the wheels with a brick or similar item? Maybe also carpet offcuts under the tyres?
  17. Sounds like you have your orders Sean!! Yeah, looking forward to bringing the GTR out for a little drive with the SAU crew sometime soon I hope.
  18. Steve-o is right, Terry's N1 has mega presence on the road, and Eugene did a fantastic job with the detailing. Will be taking mine to him when it's due. I can thank a few workshops for mine; * Japlink at Haberfield for doing the PP inspection and also for helping with interstate compliance in record time, for not one but two cars over the past couple of months. (http://www.japlinkmotors.com.au/) * Tunehouse at Marrickville for work done on my previous Skylines including great customer service working late to get a part fixed before my R33 GTR was used for a wedding the following day (http://www.tunehouse.com.au/) Turned out to be a bit of a workshop recommendation post... but may need help from other SAUers on my car in the future and I'll hopefully be able to help out others too.
  19. Sean's GTR always looks the goods. So clean! Can't believe you're selling those brakes mate. So... where was this group photo taken? Is it La-per?
  20. No worries. Hope you find a good one before long. I hope this car won't actually be sold by the dealer as a Nür then?? This M-spec Nur has been on carsales for ages; does anyone know anything about it? The M.spec Nur badge seems to be in the wrong spot = rear-end respray?
  21. Something which doesn't mean much in itself but might be another clue, Nurs should have a 300km/h speedo as standard unless it's been changed for an aftermarket one.
  22. Hey mate, Yes, they definitely have a gold build plate Sounds a bit suss. Gold cam covers and the badge mean little these days in terms of the car's identity. I would also definitely have it up on a hoist at a place you trust such as Japlink at Haberfield (about 5 mins away from Xtreme) and make sure the "24U" stamp is there on the engine block to signify it's the proper N1 block. That is, after you get the VIN and fast it Let us know how you go - I'm interested to hear about this car. Cheers Matt
  23. JDM-spec (?) 1978 C210 currently for sale on eBay here... Looks almost identical! Except for the stove top tail lights (and I think Mick's is more original)
