There's a fair bit of equipment in the HWP cars weighing them down though, right? Lights / sirens, radio / CB equipment, computer for checking IDs etc, radar, camera(s), and probably a mild assortment of weaponry / armor

Love your work mate. That R33 is pretty damn nice too!
-
Loving the calendar guys, great idea that has come to fruition

Sorry to hear about it mate, that looks like a pretty serious biff. Hope you don't have any pain in your neck or anything (physical pain anyway)? I'd also be hoping for a write-off. It'll never be the same. All the best with it mate, let us know how it goes. I assume the girl has insurance? There are few things worse than that split second where you can see the inevitable disaster but there's nothing you can do to stop it... Oh and Lol

I reckon once it's lowered (and should Terry decide to put the original rear wing back on - it came out from Japan with the carbon fibre coffee table) it'll look the goods To be modest, I think the combination of Bayside + gold RGs will also look more unique than my black BNR34 with the RE30s. I initially wasn't sure what to make of the RE30s on the BNR34, as I chose them for my BCNR33, but the look has grown on me

Thanks everyone for the feedback. And Matt - that pic of the black and white R34s is magic - I can imagine that a fair amount of work went into getting the exposure just right. Backdrop is awesome as well.

Was it the one with the stripes down the side? That was very tidy I thought

Will do mate, would look awesome on the Stag I think

Add me to the list, having a daily is very liberating... The feeling of not having to worry about where you park it at work / the shops / someone else's house at night / the beach / whatever, because of people who can't park / bird poo / tree sap / getting your mirrors knocked off / low-lifes stealing it or keying it, is very underrated. I picked up an '02 Clio Sport for just under $10K with 55,000km and it had a few minor knocks on the exterior which kinda helps you not to worry about it so much, but mechanically is very sound. Similar to Goombeh's daily above, it is practical, comfortable, and also you don't have to sacrifice driving fun, as it's still a blast to take up Old Pac Hwy, whilst retaining under 10L/100 with your mountain bike in the back. Before that, I had a couple of Corollas, the first one I paid $4,400 for, and it had an ambigious number of kms on it but it was so easy to drive and park, and maintenance was next to nothing.

This would be a total tragedy. I've read elsewhere that this situation was only inevitable after varying degrees of corruption. Your R33 looks awesome! Lucky b*stard! Hopefully will still go; not looking likely at this stage and not holding my breath disregarding the closure / continued running of the Nurburgring. Would love to go in the 'Ring Taxi with Sabine Schmidt

I can also vouch for Jim Ghelis and also Tony there at Tunehouse. The workshop is indeed spotless and their standard of customer service I've found to be very good after taking my R33 GTR there several times. They even stayed back very late to repair/replace a wishbone after a bolt had sheared off during a suspension upgrade and we had to do a trip to another workshop and back to get a spare part, before the car was used for a wedding the following day.

Thanks Shaneo. I'd bought the RE30s to suit the 33R, but have decided they also look ok on the 34R... we are deliberating over whether bronze LMGT4 will look better than the F1 RE30s? The gold Advan RGs are good combo with Terry's blue VS2 too. Loved your new acquisition mate, didn't know they had carbon bonnets As I said to you on the day I think it wasa smart buy for you getting a near-new Evo over an older R. Had a few fave R34s on the day, wanted to chat but didn't get the chance as I was at the back of the pack and as soon as we pulled up at the truck stop we were off again then got split up at the pub(s) OKOKOK - One of the few white R34s I've seen that I think looks awesome (and white doesn't detract from this one at all) - Nismo bodykit and silver LMGTs JUN26L Jamie's MNP II was also very nice - limited ed. 1 of only 300 I think?

Great day out - have missed out on Putty Rd the last two years due to work - so so glad to have made it this time. Great to see so many R34s and just cars of all types - R31s, Zs, and that Exige S! I liked that Silver R33 GTR with the LMGT4s - still have a soft spot for the 33Rs. Not to mention that yellow Aston V8 Vantage that tore past! Also hope that bikie made it out okay, but it didn't look good. Great to have a chat with some new faces and old ones too

Congrats Shanil. Looks mint!

Really... Man I thought by that stage ('94-'99) they were more or less pretty robust, much better than earlier models 456 and 348. All relative I suppose. "always fanning the bonnet" lol

Differences Between A Series I & Series Ii R33 Gtr
God_speed replied to den15b's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Den, do a search mate, there's a lot of info on this in the archives. There are few differences between S1 and S2, the bigger differences came in S3 such as red colour interior instead of blue, upgraded ABS xenon headlights, rear fog light, additional ducts in the front bumper and a deeper chin spoiler -
Thanks mate, sounds good, I'll keep at it and hope the races get more interesting, only being on Level 14 as I am Yeah it didn't really occur to me at first, I was just sort of stunned as they pulled away off the line. Makes more sense if they've been modified to be competitive, but I think there's only so far you can take a 40 year old chassis! Round corners particularly. Not to mention not being able to fit decent brakes inside those stock '60s/'70s wheels (ok that's being a bit picky). I think boiracer has a point too.

Parked in Earlwood was this F355 GTS - still one of the prettiest (and by far one of the best sounding) Ferraris ever made IMO.

Looking For R34 Gtr Vspec Ii Brochure
God_speed replied to ZILR-34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
English (UK) sales brochures crop up on eBay every now and then. Good exchange rate right now too. The ones I've seen (and one I bought) aren't for VSII or Nur but the standard model + Vspec. -
Admire you guys for putting in the hard yards on GT5... On Lv14 at the moment and I'm really struggling to get into it. I had bought and played all of the previous games in the series right back to the original on the PS1. For mine, the negatives are far outweighing the positives at the moment. Will keep at it but find that I can't play it for more than 1-2 hours at a time which makes the learning curve even more difficult. + Stunning graphics and attention to detail on the cars + Amusing gameplay details that show a lot of love for the car - Braindead AI: when accelerating hard down a straight alongside an AI opponent and you edge ahead, they "pit-manoeuvre" you and you need to be bloody fast / talented to catch the tail after that. There's still the sensation that all the AI cars are on a single predetermined racing line and do not have the depth to mix it up and dice with you; just barge you off or give you a massive love tap up the clacker. - Unrealistic vehicle performance: my R35 (or 458) struggles to catch the 512BB, or Miura SV or LP400 Countach from a standing start. C'mon, these cars were bloody quick in their time, but would probably struggle to make a 14 second quarter and pale in comparison to the modern machinery. Raises my doubts about the rest of the realism TBH. - Bewildering myriad of tyre options: Understand the need/want for some tyre variation, but the comfort tyres are completely useless and demand a very different driving style to make them work. Lotus Elise Top Gear test track challenge anyone? Slightest inputs on the wheel = wild oversteer; whether under brakes, under power, or constant throttle if contacted by an opponent. - Gameplay formula: Despite some interesting new additions like the Special events (Nascar, AMG training, and unique rally gameplay) other elements like the license tests and boring as batsh*t endurance races (as you guys have already mentioned) don't really move the game on IMO. - Convoluted menu system and loading times: I could get over these if the above problems weren't so apparent to me. How are you guys getting by despite these issues? Do you guys use a wheel (Logitech G27, etc)?

Whats It Worth R33 Gtr Vspec With 366Kw?
God_speed replied to mickyyyy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
As morgs said FAST is the most accurate way. The diff cover is finned so should be the active LSD (v spec) and the dash unit has the "A-LSD" warning light to correspond with this, although the cluster _is_ aftermarket. -
Eugene you really need to drive your car

This Will Make You Cry.
God_speed replied to Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Shame to see it in that condition but as long as it doesn't have rust in the body it shouldn't be too costly to restore? Little convex mirror thing stuck to the drivers door mirror says 'mature' owner to me, together with what you said about original stereo Bob GL with it -
I'm in - looking forward to this. Hope weather holds out...
